Matthieu 13
1 Ce même jour-là Jésus étant sorti de la maison, s'assit près de la mer.
And in that day Jesus, having gone forth from the house, was sitting by the sea,
2 Et de grandes troupes s'assemblèrent autour de lui, c'est pourquoi il monta dans une nacelle, et s'assit, et toute la multitude se tenait sur le rivage.
and gathered together unto him were many multitudes, so that he having gone into the boat did sit down, and all the multitude on the beach did stand,
3 Et il leur parla de plusieurs choses par des similitudes, en disant: voici, un semeur sortit pour semer.
and he spake to them many things in similes, saying: 'Lo, the sower went forth to sow,
4 Et comme il semait, une partie de la semence tomba le long du chemin, et les oiseaux vinrent, et la mangèrent toute.
and in his sowing, some indeed fell by the way, and the fowls did come and devour them,
5 Et une autre partie tomba dans des lieux pierreux, où elle n'avait guère de terre, et aussitôt elle leva, parce qu'elle n'entrait pas profondément dans la terre.
and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much earth, and immediately they sprang forth, through not having depth of earth,
6 Et le soleil s'étant levé, elle fut brûlée; et parce qu'elle n'avait point de racine, elle sécha.
and the sun having risen they were scorched, and through not having root, they withered,
7 Et une autre partie tomba entre des épines; et les épines montèrent, et l'étouffèrent.
and others fell upon the thorns, and the thorns did come up and choke them,
8 Et une autre partie tomba dans une bonne terre, et rendit du fruit, un grain [en rendit] cent, un autre, soixante, et un autre, trente.
and others fell upon the good ground, and were giving fruit, some indeed a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.
9 Qui a des oreilles pour ouïr, qu'il entende.
He who is having ears to hear — let him hear.'
10 Alors les Disciples s'approchant lui dirent: pourquoi leur parles-tu par des similitudes?
And the disciples having come near, said to him, 'Wherefore in similes dost thou speak to them?'
11 Il répondit, et leur dit: c'est parce qu'il vous est donné de connaître les mystères du Royaume des cieux, et que, pour eux, il ne leur est point donné [de les connaître].
And he answering said to them that — 'To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, and to these it hath not been given,
12 Car à celui qui a, il sera donné, et il aura encore plus; mais à celui qui n'a rien, cela même qu'il a lui sera ôté.
for whoever hath, it shall be given to him, and he shall have overabundance, and whoever hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken from him.
13 C'est pourquoi je leur parle par des similitudes, à cause qu'en voyant ils ne voient point, et qu'en entendant ils n'entendent point, et ne comprennent point.
'Because of this, in similes do I speak to them, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor understand,
14 Et [ainsi] s'accomplit en eux la prophétie d'Esaïe, qui dit: en entendant vous ne comprendrez point; et en voyant vous verrez, et vous n'apercevrez point.
and fulfilled on them is the prophecy of Isaiah, that saith, With hearing ye shall hear, and ye shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see, and ye shall not perceive,
15 Car le cœur de ce peuple est engraissé, et ils ont ouï dur de leurs oreilles, et ont cligné de leurs yeux; de peur qu'ils ne voient des yeux, et qu'ils n'entendent des oreilles, et qu'ils ne comprennent du cœur, et ne se convertissent, et que je ne les guérisse.
for made gross was the heart of this people, and with the ears they heard heavily, and their eyes they did close, lest they might see with the eyes, and with the ears might hear, and with the heart understand, and turn back, and I might heal them.
16 Mais vos yeux sont bienheureux, car ils voient; et, vos oreilles sont [bienheureuses], car elles entendent.
'And happy are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear,
17 Car en vérité je vous dis, que plusieurs Prophètes et plusieurs justes ont désiré de voir les choses que vous voyez, et ils ne les ont point vues; et d'ouïr les choses que vous entendez, et ils ne les ont point ouïes.
for verily I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men did desire to see that which ye look on, and they did not see, and to hear that which ye hear, and they did not hear.
18 Vous donc, écoutez [le sens de] la similitude du semeur.
'Ye, therefore, hear ye the simile of the sower:
19 Quand un homme écoute la parole du Royaume, et ne la comprend point, le malin vient, et ravit ce qui est semé dans son cœur; et c'est là celui qui a reçu la semence auprès du chemin.
Every one hearing the word of the reign, and not understanding — the evil one doth come, and doth catch that which hath been sown in his heart; this is that sown by the way.
20 Et celui qui a reçu la semence dans des lieux pierreux, c'est celui qui écoute la parole, et qui la reçoit aussitôt avec joie;
'And that sown on the rocky places, this is he who is hearing the word, and immediately with joy is receiving it,
21 Mais il n'a point de racine en lui-même, c'est pourquoi il n'est qu'à temps; de sorte que dès que l'affliction ou la persécution survienne à cause de la parole, il est aussitôt scandalisé.
and he hath not root in himself, but is temporary, and persecution or tribulation having happened because of the word, immediately he is stumbled.
22 Et celui qui a reçu la semence entre les épines, c'est celui qui écoute la parole de Dieu, mais l'inquiétude pour les choses de ce monde, et la tromperie des richesses étouffent la parole, et elle devient infructueuse. (aiōn g165)
'And that sown toward the thorns, this is he who is hearing the word, and the anxiety of this age, and the deceitfulness of the riches, do choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
23 Mais celui qui a reçu la semence dans une bonne terre, c'est celui qui écoute la parole, et qui la comprend; et porte du fruit, et produit, l'un cent, l'autre soixante, et l'autre trente.
'And that sown on the good ground: this is he who is hearing the word, and is understanding, who indeed doth bear fruit, and doth make, some indeed a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.'
24 Il leur proposa une autre similitude, en disant: le Royaume des cieux ressemble à un homme qui a semé de la bonne semence dans son champ.
Another simile he set before them, saying: 'The reign of the heavens was likened to a man sowing good seed in his field,
25 Mais pendant que les hommes dormaient, son ennemi est venu, qui a semé de l'ivraie parmi le blé, puis s'en est allé.
and, while men are sleeping, his enemy came and sowed darnel in the midst of the wheat, and went away,
26 Et après que la semence fut venue en herbe, et qu'elle eut porté du fruit, alors aussi parut l'ivraie.
and when the herb sprang up, and yielded fruit, then appeared also the darnel.
27 Et les serviteurs du père de famille vinrent à lui, et lui dirent: Seigneur, n'as-tu pas semé de la bonne semence dans ton champ? d'où vient donc qu'il y a de l'ivraie?
'And the servants of the householder, having come near, said to him, Sir, good seed didst thou not sow in thy field? whence then hath it the darnel?
28 Mais il leur dit: c'est l'ennemi qui a fait cela. Et les serviteurs lui dirent: veux-tu donc que nous y allions, et que nous cueillions l'ivraie?
And he saith to them, A man, an enemy, did this; and the servants said to him, Wilt thou, then, [that] having gone away we may gather it up?
29 Et il leur dit: non; de peur qu'il n'arrive qu'en cueillant l'ivraie, vous n'arrachiez le blé en même temps.
'And he said, No, lest — gathering up the darnel — ye root up with it the wheat,
30 Laissez-les croître tous deux ensemble, jusqu'à la moisson; et au temps de la moisson, je dirai aux moissonneurs: cueillez premièrement l'ivraie, et la liez en faisceaux pour la brûler; mais assemblez le blé dans mon grenier.
suffer both to grow together till the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the darnel, and bind it in bundles, to burn it, and the wheat gather up into my storehouse.'
31 Il leur proposa une autre similitude, en disant: le Royaume des cieux est semblable au grain de semence de moutarde que quelqu'un a pris et semé dans son champ.
Another simile he set before them, saying: 'The reign of the heavens is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, did sow in his field,
32 Qui est bien la plus petite de toutes les semences; mais quand il est crû, il est plus grand que les autres plantes, et devient un arbre; tellement que les oiseaux du ciel y viennent, et font leurs nids dans ses branches.
which less, indeed, is than all the seeds, but when it may be grown, is greatest of the herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the heaven do come and rest in its branches.'
33 Il leur dit une autre similitude: le Royaume des cieux est semblable au levain qu'une femme prend, et qu'elle met parmi trois mesures de farine, jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit toute levée.
Another simile spake he to them: 'The reign of the heavens is like to leaven, which a woman having taken, hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.'
34 Jésus dit toutes ces choses aux troupes en similitudes, et il ne leur parlait point sans similitudes;
All these things spake Jesus in similes to the multitudes, and without a simile he was not speaking to them,
35 Afin que fût accompli ce dont il avait été parlé par le Prophète, en disant: j'ouvrirai ma bouche en similitudes; je déclarerai les choses qui ont été cachées dès la fondation du monde.
that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophet, saying, 'I will open in similes my mouth, I will utter things having been hidden from the foundation of the world.'
36 Alors Jésus ayant laissé les troupes, s'en alla à la maison, et ses Disciples vinrent à lui, et lui dirent: explique-nous la similitude de l'ivraie du champ.
Then having let away the multitudes, Jesus came to the house, and his disciples came near to him, saying, 'Explain to us the simile of the darnel of the field.'
37 Et il leur répondit et dit: celui qui sème la bonne semence, c'est le Fils de l'homme;
And he answering said to them, 'He who is sowing the good seed is the Son of Man,
38 Et le champ, c'est le monde; la bonne semence ce sont les enfants du Royaume, et l'ivraie ce sont les enfants du malin;
and the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the reign, and the darnel are the sons of the evil one,
39 Et l'ennemi qui l'a semée, c'est le diable; la moisson, c'est la fin du monde, et les moissonneurs sont les Anges. (aiōn g165)
and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is a full end of the age, and the reapers are messengers. (aiōn g165)
40 Comme donc on cueille l'ivraie, et on la brûle au feu, il en sera de même à la fin de ce monde. (aiōn g165)
'As, then, the darnel is gathered up, and is burned with fire, so shall it be in the full end of this age, (aiōn g165)
41 Le Fils de l'homme enverra ses Anges, qui cueilleront de son Royaume tous les scandales, et ceux qui commettent l'iniquité;
the Son of Man shall send forth his messengers, and they shall gather up out of his kingdom all the stumbling-blocks, and those doing the unlawlessness,
42 Et les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu; là il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents.
and shall cast them to the furnace of the fire; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.
43 Alors les justes reluiront comme le soleil dans le Royaume de leur Père. Qui a des oreilles pour ouïr, qu'il entende.
'Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the reign of their Father. He who is having ears to hear — let him hear.
44 Le Royaume des cieux est encore semblable à un trésor caché dans un champ, lequel un homme ayant trouvé, l'a caché; puis de la joie qu'il en a, il s'en va, et vend tout ce qu'il a, et achète ce champ.
'Again, the reign of the heavens is like to treasure hid in the field, which a man having found did hide, and from his joy goeth, and all, as much as he hath, he selleth, and buyeth that field.
45 Le Royaume des cieux est encore semblable à un marchand qui cherche de bonnes perles;
'Again, the reign of the heavens is like to a man, a merchant, seeking goodly pearls,
46 Et qui ayant trouvé une perle de grand prix, s'en est allé, et a vendu tout ce qu'il avait, et l'a achetée.
who having found one pearl of great price, having gone away, hath sold all, as much as he had, and bought it.
47 Le Royaume des cieux est encore semblable à un filet jeté dans la mer, et amassant toutes sortes de choses;
'Again, the reign of the heavens is like to a net that was cast into the sea, and did gather together of every kind,
48 Lequel étant plein, les pêcheurs le tirent en haut sur le rivage, puis s'étant assis, ils mettent ce qu'il y a de bon à part dans leurs vaisseaux, et jettent dehors ce qui ne vaut rien.
which, when it was filled, having drawn up again upon the beach, and having sat down, they gathered the good into vessels, and the bad they did cast out,
49 Il en sera de même à la fin du monde, les Anges viendront, et sépareront les méchants d'avec les justes; (aiōn g165)
so shall it be in the full end of the age, the messengers shall come forth and separate the evil out of the midst of the righteous, (aiōn g165)
50 Et les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu; là il y aura des pleurs, et des grincements de dents.
and shall cast them to the furnace of the fire, there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.'
51 Jésus leur dit: avez-vous compris toutes ces choses? Ils lui répondirent: oui, Seigneur.
Jesus saith to them, 'Did ye understand all these?' They say to him, 'Yes, sir.'
52 Et il leur dit: c'est pour cela que tout Scribe qui est bien instruit pour le Royaume des cieux, est semblable à un père de famille qui tire de son trésor des choses nouvelles, et des choses anciennes.
And he said to them, 'Because of this every scribe having been discipled in regard to the reign of the heavens, is like to a man, a householder, who doth bring forth out of his treasure things new and old.'
53 Et quand Jésus eut achevé ces similitudes, il partit de là.
And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these similes, he removed thence,
54 Et étant venu en son pays, il les enseignait dans leur Synagogue, de telle sorte qu'ils en étaient étonnés, et disaient: d'où viennent à celui-ci cette science et ces vertus?
and having come to his own country, he was teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and were saying, 'Whence to this one this wisdom and the mighty works?
55 Celui-ci n'est-il pas le fils du charpentier? sa mère ne s'appelle-t-elle pas Marie? et ses frères [ne s'appellent-ils pas] Jacques, Joses, Simon et Jude?
is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary, and his brethren James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56 Et ses sœurs ne sont-elles pas toutes parmi nous? D'où viennent donc à celui-ci toutes ces choses?
and his sisters — are they not all with us? whence, then, to this one all these?'
57 Tellement qu'ils étaient scandalisés en lui. Mais Jésus leur dit: un Prophète n'est sans honneur que dans son pays, et dans sa maison.
and they were stumbled at him. And Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is not without honour except in his own country, and in his own house:'
58 Et il ne fit là guère de miracles, à cause de leur incrédulité.
and he did not there many mighty works, because of their unbelief.
