Marc 9
1 Il leur disait aussi: en vérité je vous dis, que parmi ceux qui sont ici présents, il y en a quelques-uns qui ne mourront point jusqu'à ce qu’ils aient vu le Règne de Dieu venir avec puissance.
And he said to them, 'Verily I say to you, That there are certain of those standing here, who may not taste of death till they see the reign of God having come in power.'
2 Et six jours après, Jésus prit avec soi Pierre et Jacques, et Jean, et les mena seuls à l'écart sur une haute montagne, et il fut transfiguré devant eux.
And after six days doth Jesus take Peter, and James, and John, and bringeth them up to a high mount by themselves, alone, and he was transfigured before them,
3 Et ses vêtements devinrent reluisants et blancs comme de la neige, tels qu'il n'y a point de foulon sur la terre qui les pût ainsi blanchir.
and his garments became glittering, white exceedingly, as snow, so as a fuller upon the earth is not able to whiten [them].
4 Et en même temps leur apparurent Elie et Moïse, qui parlaient avec Jésus.
And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
5 Alors Pierre prenant la parole, dit à Jésus: Maître, il est bon que nous soyons ici; faisons-y donc trois tabernacles, un pour toi, un pour Moïse, et un pour Elie.
And Peter answering saith to Jesus, 'Rabbi, it is good to us to be here; and we may make three booths, for thee one, and for Moses one, and for Elijah one:'
6 Or il ne savait ce qu'il disait, car ils étaient épouvantés.
for he was not knowing what he might say, for they were greatly afraid.
7 Et il vint une nuée qui les couvrit de son ombre; et il vint de la nuée une voix, disant: celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé, écoutez-le.
And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, 'This is My Son — the Beloved, hear ye him;'
8 Et aussitôt ayant regardé de tous côtés, ils ne virent plus personne, sinon Jésus seul avec eux.
and suddenly, having looked around, they saw no one any more, but Jesus only with themselves.
9 Et comme ils descendaient de la montagne, il leur commanda expressément de ne raconter à personne ce qu'ils avaient vu, sinon après que le Fils de l'homme serait ressuscité des morts.
And as they are coming down from the mount, he charged them that they may declare to no one the things that they saw, except when the Son of Man may rise out of the dead;
10 Et ils retinrent cette parole-là en eux-mêmes, s'entre-demandant ce que c'était que ressusciter des morts.
and the thing they kept to themselves, questioning together what the rising out of the dead is.
11 Puis ils l'interrogèrent, disant: pourquoi les Scribes disent-ils qu'il faut qu'Elie vienne premièrement?
And they were questioning him, saying, that the scribes say that Elijah it behoveth to come first.
12 Il répondit, et leur dit: il est vrai, Elie étant venu premièrement doit rétablir toutes choses, et comme il est écrit du Fils de l'homme, il faut qu'il souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit chargé de mépris.
And he answering said to them, 'Elijah indeed, having come first, doth restore all things; and how hath it been written concerning the Son of Man, that many things he may suffer, and be set at nought?
13 Mais je vous dis que même Elie est venu, et qu'ils lui ont fait tout ce qu'ils ont voulu, comme il est écrit de lui.
But I say to you, That also Elijah hath come, and they did to him what they willed, as it hath been written of him.'
14 Puis étant revenu vers les Disciples, il vit autour d'eux une grande troupe, et des Scribes qui disputaient avec eux.
And having come unto the disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and scribes questioning with them,
15 Et dès que toute cette troupe le vit, elle fut saisie d'étonnement; et ils accoururent pour le saluer.
and immediately, all the multitude having seen him, were amazed, and running near, were saluting him.
16 Et il interrogea les Scribes, disant: de quoi disputez-vous avec eux?
And he questioned the scribes, 'What dispute ye with them?'
17 Et quelqu'un de la troupe prenant la parole, dit: Maître, je t'ai amené mon fils qui a un esprit muet.
and one out of the multitude answering said, 'Teacher, I brought my son unto thee, having a dumb spirit;
18 Lequel l'agite cruellement partout où il le saisit, et il écume, et grince les dents, et devient sec; et j'ai prié tes Disciples de chasser ce démon, mais ils n'ont pu.
and wherever it doth seize him, it doth tear him, and he foameth, and gnasheth his teeth, and pineth away; and I spake to thy disciples that they may cast it out, and they were not able.'
19 Alors Jésus lui répondant, dit: Ô génération incrédule! jusques à quand serai-je avec vous? jusques à quand vous supporterai-je? amenez-le-moi.
And he answering him, said, 'O generation unbelieving, till when shall I be with you? till when shall I suffer you? bring him unto me;'
20 Et ils le lui amenèrent; et quand il l'eut vu l'esprit l'agita sur-le-champ avec violence, de sorte que [l'enfant] tomba à terre, et se tournait çà et là en écumant.
and they brought him unto him, and he having seen him, immediately the spirit tare him, and he, having fallen upon the earth, was wallowing — foaming.
21 Et [Jésus] demanda au père de l'enfant: combien y a-t-il de temps que ceci lui est arrivé? et il dit: dès son enfance;
And he questioned his father, 'How long time is it since this came to him?' and he said, 'From childhood,
22 Et souvent il l’a jeté dans le feu et dans l'eau pour le faire périr; mais si tu y peux quelque chose, assiste-nous, étant ému de compassion envers nous.
and many times also it cast him into fire, and into water, that it might destroy him; but if thou art able to do anything, help us, having compassion on us.'
23 Alors Jésus lui dit: si tu le peux croire, toutes choses sont possibles au croyant.
And Jesus said to him, 'If thou art able to believe! all things are possible to the one that is believing;'
24 Et aussitôt le père de l'enfant s'écriant avec larmes, dit: Je crois, Seigneur! aide-moi dans mon incrédulité.
and immediately the father of the child, having cried out, with tears said, 'I believe, sir; be helping mine unbelief.'
25 Et quand Jésus vit que le peuple y accourait l'un sur l'autre, il censura fortement l'esprit immonde, en lui disant: esprit muet et sourd, je te commande, moi, sors de cet [enfant], et n'y rentre plus.
Jesus having seen that a multitude doth run together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, 'Spirit — dumb and deaf — I charge thee, come forth out of him, and no more thou mayest enter into him;'
26 Et [le démon] sortit en criant, et faisant beaucoup souffrir [cet enfant], qui en devint comme mort, tellement que plusieurs disaient: il est mort.
and having cried, and rent him much, it came forth, and he became as dead, so that many said that he was dead,
27 Mais Jésus l'ayant pris par la main, le redressa; et il se leva.
but Jesus, having taken him by the hand, lifted him up, and he arose.
28 Puis [Jésus] étant entré dans la maison, ses Disciples lui demandèrent en particulier: pourquoi ne l'avons-nous pu chasser?
And he having come into the house, his disciples were questioning him by himself — 'Why were we not able to cast it forth?'
29 Et il leur répondit: cette sorte de [démons] ne peut sortir si ce n'est par la prière et par le jeûne.
And he said to them, 'This kind is able to come forth with nothing except with prayer and fasting.'
30 Et étant partis de là, ils traversèrent la Galilée; mais il ne voulut pas que personne le sût.
And having gone forth thence, they were passing through Galilee, and he did not wish that any may know,
31 Or il enseignait ses Disciples, et leur disait: le Fils de l'homme va être livré entre les mains des hommes, et ils le feront mourir, mais après qu'il aura été mis à mort, il ressuscitera le troisième jour.
for he was teaching his disciples, and he said to them, 'The Son of Man is being delivered to the hands of men, and they shall kill him, and having been killed the third day he shall rise,'
32 Mais ils ne comprenaient point ce discours, et ils craignaient de l'interroger.
but they were not understanding the saying, and they were afraid to question him.
33 Après ces choses il vint à Capernaüm, et quand il fut arrivé à la maison, il leur demanda: de quoi disputiez-vous ensemble en chemin?
And he came to Capernaum, and being in the house, he was questioning them, 'What were ye reasoning in the way among yourselves?'
34 Et ils se turent: car ils avaient disputé ensemble en chemin, qui [d'entre eux était] le plus grand.
and they were silent, for with one another they did reason in the way who is greater;
35 Et après qu’il se fut assis, il appela les douze, et leur dit: si quelqu'un veut être le premier [entre vous], il sera le dernier de tous, et le serviteur de tous.
and having sat down he called the twelve, and he saith to them, 'If any doth will to be first, he shall be last of all, and minister of all.'
36 Et ayant pris un petit enfant, il le mit au milieu d'eux, et après l'avoir pris entre ses bras, il leur dit:
And having taken a child, he set him in the midst of them, and having taken him in his arms, said to them,
37 Quiconque recevra l'un de tels petits enfants en mon Nom, il me reçoit; et quiconque me reçoit, ce n'est pas moi qu’il reçoit, mais il reçoit celui qui m'a envoyé.
'Whoever may receive one of such children in my name, doth receive me, and whoever may receive me, doth not receive me, but Him who sent me.'
38 Alors Jean prit la parole, et dit: Maître, nous avons vu quelqu'un qui chassait les démons en ton Nom, et qui pourtant ne nous suit point; et nous l'en avons empêché, parce qu'il ne nous suit point.
And John did answer him, saying, 'Teacher, we saw a certain one in thy name casting out demons, who doth not follow us, and we forbade him, because he doth not follow us.'
39 Mais Jésus leur dit: ne l'en empêchez point; parce qu'il n'y a personne qui fasse un miracle en mon Nom, qui aussitôt puisse mal parler de moi.
And Jesus said, 'Forbid him not, for there is no one who shall do a mighty work in my name, and shall be able readily to speak evil of me:
40 Car qui n'est pas contre nous, il est pour nous.
for he who is not against us is for us;
41 Et quiconque vous donnera à boire un verre d'eau en mon Nom, parce que vous êtes à Christ, en vérité je vous dis, qu'il ne perdra point sa récompense.
for whoever may give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because ye are Christ's, verily I say to you, he may not lose his reward;
42 Mais quiconque scandalisera l'un de ces petits qui croient en moi, il lui vaudrait mieux qu'on mit une pierre de meule autour de son cou, et qu'on le jetât dans la mer.
and whoever may cause to stumble one of the little ones believing in me, better is it for him if a millstone is hanged about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea.
43 Or si ta main te fait broncher, coupe-la: il vaut mieux que tu entres manchot dans la vie, que d'avoir deux mains, et aller dans la géhenne, au feu qui ne s'éteint point; (Geenna g1067)
'And if thy hand may cause thee to stumble, cut it off; it is better for thee maimed to enter into the life, than having the two hands, to go away to the gehenna, to the fire — the unquenchable — (Geenna g1067)
44 Là où leur ver ne meurt point, et le feu ne s'éteint point.
where their worm is not dying, and the fire is not being quenched.
45 Et si ton pied te fait broncher, coupe-le: il vaut mieux que tu entres boiteux dans la vie, que d'avoir deux pieds, et être jeté dans la géhenne, au feu qui ne s'éteint point; (Geenna g1067)
'And if thy foot may cause thee to stumble, cut it off; it is better for thee to enter into the life lame, than having the two feet to be cast to the gehenna, to the fire — the unquenchable — (Geenna g1067)
46 Là où leur ver ne meurt point, et le feu ne s'éteint point.
where their worm is not dying, and the fire is not being quenched.
47 Et si ton œil te fait broncher, arrache-le: il vaut mieux que tu entres dans le Royaume de Dieu n'ayant qu'un œil, que d'avoir deux yeux, et être jeté dans la géhenne du feu; (Geenna g1067)
And if thine eye may cause thee to stumble, cast it out; it is better for thee one-eyed to enter into the reign of God, than having two eyes, to be cast to the gehenna of the fire — (Geenna g1067)
48 Là où leur ver ne meurt point, et où le feu ne s'éteint point.
where their worm is not dying, and the fire is not being quenched;
49 Car chacun sera salé de feu; et toute oblation sera salée de sel.
for every one with fire shall be salted, and every sacrifice with salt shall be salted.
50 C'est une bonne chose que le sel; mais si le sel devient insipide, avec quoi lui rendra-t-on sa saveur? Ayez du sel en vous-mêmes, et soyez en paix entre vous.
The salt [is] good, but if the salt may become saltless, in what will ye season [it]? Have in yourselves salt, and have peace in one another.'
