Luc 19
1 Et [Jésus] étant entré dans Jéricho, allait par la ville.
Now when Iesus entred and passed through Iericho,
2 Et voici un homme appelé Zachée, qui était principal péager, et qui était riche,
Beholde, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chiefe receiuer of the tribute, and he was riche.
3 Tâchait de voir lequel était Jésus, mais il ne pouvait à cause de la foule, car il était petit.
And he sought to see Iesus, who hee should be, and coulde not for the preasse, because he was of a lowe stature.
4 C'est pourquoi il accourut devant, et monta sur un sycomore pour le voir; car il devait passer par là.
Wherefore he ranne before, and climed vp into a wilde figge tree, that he might see him: for he should come that way.
5 Et quand Jésus fut venu à cet endroit-là, regardant en haut, il le vit, et lui dit: Zachée, descends promptement; car il faut que je demeure aujourd'hui dans ta maison.
And when Iesus came to the place, he looked vp, and saw him, and said vnto him, Zaccheus, come downe at once: for to day I must abide at thine house.
6 Et il descendit promptement, et le reçut avec joie.
Then he came downe hastily, and receiued him ioyfully.
7 Et tous voyant cela murmuraient, disant qu'il était entré chez un homme de mauvaise vie pour y loger.
And when all they sawe it, they murmured, saying, that hee was gone in to lodge with a sinfull man.
8 Et Zachée se présentant là, dit au Seigneur: Voici, Seigneur, je donne la moitié de mes biens aux pauvres; et si j'ai fait tort à quelqu'un en quelque chose, j'en rends le quadruple.
And Zaccheus stood forth, and said vnto the Lord, Beholde, Lord, the halfe of my goods I giue to the poore: and if I haue taken from any man by forged cauillation, I restore him foure folde.
9 Et Jésus lui dit: aujourd'hui le salut est entré dans cette maison; parce que celui-ci aussi est fils d'Abraham.
Then Iesus said to him, This day is saluation come vnto this house, forasmuch as hee is also become the sonne of Abraham.
10 Car le Fils de l'homme est venu chercher et sauver ce qui était perdu.
For the Sonne of man is come to seeke, and to saue that which was lost.
11 Et comme ils entendaient ces choses, Jésus poursuivit son discours, et proposa une parabole, parce qu'il était près de Jérusalem, et qu'ils pensaient qu'à l'instant le Règne de Dieu devait être manifesté.
And whiles they heard these thinges, hee continued and spake a parable, because hee was neere to Hierusalem, and because also they thought that the kingdom of God should shortly appeare.
12 Il dit donc: un homme noble s'en alla dans un pays éloigné, pour se mettre en possession d'un Royaume, mais dans la vue de revenir.
He saide therefore, A certaine noble man went into a farre countrey, to receiue for himselfe a kingdome, and so to come againe.
13 Et ayant appelé dix de ses serviteurs, il leur donna dix marcs d'argent et leur dit: Faites-les valoir jusqu'à ce que je vienne.
And he called his ten seruants, and deliuered them ten pieces of money, and sayd vnto them, Occupie till I come.
14 Or ses citoyens le haïssaient: c'est pourquoi ils envoyèrent après lui une députation, pour dire: nous ne voulons pas que celui-ci règne sur nous.
Nowe his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not haue this man to reigne ouer vs.
15 Il arriva donc après qu'il fut retourné, et qu'il se fut mis en possession du Royaume, qu'il commanda qu'on lui appelât ces serviteurs à qui il avait confié [son] argent, afin qu'il sût combien chacun aurait gagné par son trafic.
And it came to passe, when hee was come againe, and had receiued his kingdome, that he commanded the seruants to be called to him, to whome he gaue his money, that he might knowe what euery man had gained.
16 Alors le premier vint, disant: Seigneur, ton marc a produit dix autres marcs.
Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased ten pieces.
17 Et il lui dit: cela va bien, bon serviteur; parce que tu as été fidèle en peu de chose, aie puissance sur dix villes.
And he sayd vnto him, Well, good seruant: because thou hast bene faithfull in a very litle thing, take thou authoritie ouer ten cities.
18 Et un autre vint, disant: Seigneur, ton marc en a produit cinq autres.
And the second came, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased fiue pieces.
19 Et il dit aussi à celui-ci: et toi, sois établi sur cinq villes.
And to the same he sayd, Be thou also ruler ouer fiue cities.
20 Et un autre vint, disant: Seigneur, voici ton marc que j'ai tenu enveloppé dans un linge;
So the other came, and sayd, Lord, beholde thy piece, which I haue laide vp in a napkin:
21 Car je t'ai craint, parce que tu es un homme sévère; tu prends ce que tu n'as point mis, et tu moissonnes ce que tu n'as point semé.
For I feared thee, because thou art a straight man: thou takest vp, that thou layedst not downe, and reapest that thou diddest not sowe.
22 Et il lui dit: méchant serviteur, je te jugerai par ta propre parole: tu savais que je suis un homme sévère, prenant ce que je n'ai point mis, et moissonnant ce que je n'ai point semé;
Then he sayde vnto him, Of thine owne mouth will I iudge thee, O euill seruant. Thou knewest that I am a straight man, taking vp that I layd not downe, and reaping that I did not sowe.
23 Pourquoi donc n'as-tu pas mis mon argent à la banque, et à mon retour je l'eusse retiré avec l'intérêt?
Wherefore then gauest not thou my money into the banke, that at my coming I might haue required it with vantage?
24 Alors il dit à ceux qui étaient présents: Otez-lui le marc, et donnez-le à celui qui a les dix.
And he sayd to them that stoode by, Take from him that piece, and giue it him that hath ten pieces.
25 Et ils lui dirent: Seigneur, il a dix marcs.
(And they sayd vnto him, Lord, hee hath ten pieces.)
26 Ainsi je vous dis, qu'à chacun qui aura, il sera donné; et à celui qui n'a rien, cela même qu'il a, lui sera ôté.
For I say vnto you, that vnto all them that haue, it shalbe giuen: and from him that hath not, euen that he hath, shalbe taken from him.
27 Au reste, amenez ici ces ennemis qui n'ont pas voulu que je régnasse sur eux, et tuez-les devant moi.
Moreouer, those mine enemies, which would not that I should reigne ouer them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
28 Et ayant dit ces choses, il allait devant [eux], montant à Jérusalem.
And when he had thus spoken, he went forth before, ascending vp to Hierusalem.
29 Et il arriva comme il approchait de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, vers la montagne appelée des oliviers, qu'il envoya deux de ses Disciples,
And it came to passe, when hee was come neere to Bethphage, and Bethania, besides the mount which is called the mount of Oliues, he sent two of his disciples,
30 En leur disant: allez à la bourgade qui est vis-à-vis de vous, et y étant entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel jamais homme n'est monté; détachez-le, et amenez-le-moi.
Saying, Goe ye to the towne which is before you, wherein, assoone as ye are come, ye shall finde a colte tied, whereon neuer man sate: loose him, and bring him hither.
31 Que si quelqu'un vous demande pourquoi vous le détachez, vous lui direz ainsi: c'est parce que le Seigneur en a besoin.
And if any man aske you, why ye loose him, thus shall ye say vnto him, Because the Lord hath neede of him.
32 Et ceux qui étaient envoyés s'en allèrent, et trouvèrent [l'ânon] comme il le leur avait dit.
So they that were sent, went their way, and found it as he had sayd vnto them.
33 Et comme ils détachaient l'ânon, les maîtres leur dirent: pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon?
And as they were loosing the colte, the owners thereof sayd vnto them, Why loose ye the colte?
34 Ils répondirent: le Seigneur en a besoin.
And they sayd, The Lord hath neede of him.
35 Ils l'emmenèrent donc à Jésus, et ils jetèrent leurs vêtements sur l'ânon; puis ils mirent Jésus dessus.
So they brought him to Iesus, and they cast their garments on the colte, and set Iesus thereon.
36 En même temps qu'il marchait, ils étendaient leurs vêtements par le chemin.
And as he went, they spred their clothes in the way.
37 Et lorsqu'il fut proche de la descente de la montagne des oliviers, toute la multitude des Disciples se réjouissant, se mit à louer Dieu à haute voix, pour tous les miracles qu'ils avaient vus;
And when he was nowe come neere to the going downe of the mount of Oliues, the whole multitude of the disciples began to reioyce, and to prayse God with a loude voyce, for all the great workes that they had seene,
38 Disant: béni soit le Roi qui vient au Nom du Seigneur; que la paix soit dans le ciel, et la gloire dans les lieux très-hauts.
Saying, Blessed be the King that commeth in the Name of the Lord: peace in heauen, and glory in the highest places.
39 Et quelques-uns d'entre les Pharisiens de la troupe lui dirent: Maître, reprends tes Disciples.
Then some of the Pharises of the companie sayd vnto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 Et Jésus répondant, leur dit: je vous dis que si ceux-ci se taisent, les pierres mêmes crieront.
But he answered, and sayd vnto them, I tell you, that if these should holde their peace, the stones would crie.
41 Et quand il fut proche, voyant la ville, il pleura sur elle, en disant:
And when he was come neere, he behelde the Citie, and wept for it,
42 O! si toi aussi eusses connu, au moins en cette tienne journée, les choses qui appartiennent à ta paix! mais maintenant elles sont cachées devant tes yeux.
Saying, O if thou haddest euen knowen at the least in this thy day those things, which belong vnto thy peace! but nowe are they hid from thine eyes.
43 Car les jours viendront sur toi que tes ennemis t'environneront de tranchées, ils t'enfermeront, et t'enserreront de tous côtés;
For the dayes shall come vpon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compasse thee round, and keepe thee in on euery side,
44 Et te raseront, toi et tes enfants qui sont au-dedans de toi, et ils ne laisseront en toi pierre sur pierre, parce que tu n'as point connu le temps de ta visitation.
And shall make thee euen with ye ground, and thy children which are in thee, and they shall not leaue in thee a stone vpon a stone, because thou knewest not that season of thy visitation.
45 Puis étant entré au Temple, il commença à chasser dehors ceux qui y vendaient et qui y achetaient.
He went also into the Temple, and began to cast out them that solde therein, and them that bought,
46 Leur disant: il est écrit: ma Maison est la Maison de prière; mais vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs.
Saying vnto them, It is written, Mine house is the house of prayer, but ye haue made it a denne of theeues.
47 Et il était tous les jours enseignant dans le Temple, et les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Scribes, tâchaient de le faire mourir.
And he taught dayly in the Temple. And the hie Priests and the Scribes, and the chiefe of the people sought to destroy him.
48 Mais ils ne trouvaient rien qu'ils lui pussent faire; car tout le peuple était fort attentif à l'écouter.
But they could not finde what they might doe to him: for all the people hanged vpon him when they heard him.
