Luc 11
1 Et il arriva, comme il était en prière en un certain lieu, qu'après qu'il eut cessé [de prier], quelqu'un de ses Disciples lui dit: Seigneur, enseigne-nous à prier, ainsi que Jean a enseigné ses Disciples.
And it came to pass, that He was in a certain place praying; when He ceased, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 Et il leur dit: quand vous prierez, dites: Notre Père qui es aux cieux, ton Nom soit sanctifié. Ton Règne vienne. Ta volonté soit faite en la terre comme au ciel.
And He said to them, When you pray, say, Our Father, let thy name be hallowed: let thy kingdom come:
3 Donne-nous chaque jour notre pain quotidien.
give unto us this day our daily bread:
4 Et pardonne-nous nos péchés; car nous quittons aussi les dettes à tous ceux qui nous doivent. Et ne nous induis point en tentation, mais délivre-nous du mal.
and forgive us our sins; for we also do forgive every one owing us: and lead us not into temptation.
5 Puis il leur dit: qui sera celui d'entre vous, lequel ayant un ami qui aille à lui sur le minuit, et lui dise: [Mon] ami, prête moi trois pains;
And He said to them, Which one of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
6 Car un de mes amis m'est survenu en passant, et je n'ai rien pour lui présenter.
since my friend came to me from the road, and I have nothing which I may place before him.
7 Et que celui qui est dedans réponde et dise: ne m'importune point; car ma porte est déjà fermée, et mes petits enfants sont avec moi au lit; je ne puis me lever pour t'en donner.
And he responding from within, said, Do not give me trouble: the door has already been closed, and my children are in bed with me; I am not able rising to give unto thee.
8 Je vous dis, qu'encore qu'il ne se lève point pour lui en donner à cause qu'il est son ami, il se lèvera pourtant à cause de son importunité, et lui en donnera autant qu'il en aura besoin.
I say unto you, If indeed having risen he will not give unto him, because he is his friend, yet on account of his shamelessness, rising he will give him as much as he needs.
9 Ainsi je vous dis: demandez, et il vous sera donné; cherchez, et vous trouverez; heurtez, et il vous sera ouvert.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 Car quiconque demande, reçoit; et quiconque cherche, trouve; et il sera ouvert à celui qui heurte.
For every one asking receives; and the one seeking finds; and to the one knocking it shall be opened.
11 Que si un enfant demande du pain à quelqu'un d'entre vous qui soit son père, lui donnera-t-il une pierre? Ou, s'il demande du poisson, lui donnera-t-il, au lieu du poisson, un serpent?
And which father of you shall if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? or indeed a fish, will he instead of a fish give him a serpent?
12 Ou, s'il demande un œuf, lui donnera-t-il un scorpion?
Or indeed shall he ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion?
13 Si donc vous qui êtes méchants, savez bien donner à vos enfants de bonnes choses, combien plus votre Père céleste donnera-t-il le Saint-Esprit à ceux qui le lui demandent?
If then you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, then how much more will your Father who is from heaven give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?
14 Alors il chassa un démon qui était muet; et il arriva que quand le démon fut sorti, le muet parla; et les troupes s'en étonnèrent.
And He was casting out a demon, and he was dumb: and it came to pass, the demon having gone out, the dumb spoke; and the multitudes were astonished.
15 Et quelques-uns d'entre eux dirent: c'est par Béelzebul, prince des démons, qu'il chasse les démons.
And certain ones of them said, He casts out the demon through Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.
16 Mais les autres pour l'éprouver, lui demandaient un miracle du ciel.
And others tempting, continued to seek with Him a sign from heaven.
17 Mais lui connaissant leurs pensées, leur dit: tout Royaume divisé contre soi-même sera réduit en désert; et toute maison [divisée contre elle-même] tombe en ruine.
And He, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself, comes to desolation, and house falls upon house.
18 Que si satan est aussi divisé contre lui-même, comment subsistera son règne? Car vous dites que je chasse les démons par Béelzebul.
And if Satan were indeed divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I am casting out demons through Beelzebul.
19 Que si je chasse les démons par Béelzebul, vos fils par qui les chassent-ils? c'est pourquoi ils seront eux-mêmes vos juges.
But if I through Beelzebul cast out the demons, through whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges:
20 Mais si je chasse les démons par le doigt de Dieu, certes le Règne de Dieu est parvenu à vous.
but if I through the finger of God cast out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come nigh unto you.
21 Quand un homme fort et bien armé garde son hôtel, les choses qu'il a sont en sûreté.
When the strong man armed may keep his palace, his goods are in peace:
22 Mais s'il en survient un autre plus fort que lui, qui le surmonte, il lui ôte toutes ses armes auxquelles il se confiait, et fait le partage de ses dépouilles.
but when one stronger than he, having come, may conquer him, he takes away his panoply in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
23 Celui qui n'est point avec moi, est contre moi; et celui qui n'assemble point avec moi, il disperse.
The one not being with me is against me; and the one not gathering with me scatters abroad.
24 Quand l'esprit immonde est sorti d'un homme, il va par des lieux secs, cherchant du repos; et n'en trouvant point, il dit: je retournerai dans ma maison, d'où je suis sorti.
When the unclean spirit may go out from the man, he goes through dry places; seeking rest, and finding none, he says, I will return into my own house, whence I came out.
25 Et y étant venu, il la trouve balayée et parée.
And having come he finds it swept and beautified.
26 Alors il s'en va, et prend avec soi sept autres esprits plus méchants que lui, et ils entrent et demeurent là; de sorte que la dernière condition de cet homme-là est pire que la première.
Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and having come in he dwells there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
27 Or il arriva comme il disait ces choses, qu'une femme d'entre les troupes éleva sa voix, et lui dit: bienheureux est le ventre qui t'a porté, et les mamelles que tu as tétées.
And it came to pass, while He is speaking these words, a certain woman lifting up her voice from the crowd, said to Him, Blessed is the womb having borne thee, and the breasts which thou didst suck.
28 Et il dit: mais plutôt bienheureux sont ceux qui écoutent la parole de Dieu, et qui la gardent.
And He said, Truly blessed are those hearing the word of God, and keeping it.
29 Et comme les troupes s'amassaient, il se mit à dire: cette génération est méchante; elle demande un miracle, mais il ne lui sera point accordé d'autre miracle, que le miracle de Jonas le Prophète.
And the multitudes being assembled, He began to say, This is a wicked generation: it seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
30 Car comme Jonas fut un signe à ceux de Ninive, ainsi le Fils de l'homme en sera un à cette génération.
For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so shall the Son of man also be a sign to this generation.
31 La Reine du Midi se lèvera au [jour du] jugement contre les hommes de cette génération, et les condamnera; parce qu'elle vint du bout de la terre pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon; et voici, il y a ici plus que Salomon.
The queen of the south will rise in judgment with this generation, and condemn them; because she came from the uttermost parts of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
32 Les gens de Ninive se lèveront au [jour du] jugement contre cette génération, et la condamneront; parce qu'ils se sont repentis à la prédication de Jonas; et voici, il y a ici plus que Jonas.
The men of Nineveh will rise in judgment with this generation, and condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold a greater than Jonah is here.
33 Or nul qui allume une lampe, ne la met dans un lieu caché, ou sous un boisseau, mais sur un chandelier, afin que ceux qui entrent, voient la lumière.
No one, having lighted a lamp, putteth it in a cellar, nor under a bushel, but on a candlestick, in order that those coming in may see the light.
34 La lumière du corps c'est l'œil: si donc ton œil est net, tout ton corps aussi sera éclairé; mais s'il est mauvais, ton corps aussi sera ténébreux.
The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye may be clear, truly thy whole body is lighted; but when it may be had, truly thy body is dark.
35 Regarde donc que la lumière qui est en toi ne soit des ténèbres.
See then that the light which is in thee is not darkness.
36 Si donc ton corps est éclairé, n'ayant aucune partie ténébreuse, il sera éclairé partout, comme quand la lampe t'éclaire par sa lumière.
If then thy whole body is lighted, having no part dark, all will be lighted, as when a lamp may light thee with its brightness.
37 Et comme il parlait, un Pharisien le pria de dîner chez lui; et Jésus y entra, et se mit à table.
And while He was speaking, a Pharisee asked Him, that He would dine with him: and having come in, He sat up at the table.
38 Mais le Pharisien s'étonna de voir qu'il ne s'était point premièrement lavé avant le dîner.
And the Pharisee seeing, was astonished because He was not first baptized before dinner.
39 Mais le Seigneur lui dit: vous autres Pharisiens vous nettoyez le dehors de la coupe et du plat; mais le dedans de vous est plein de rapine et de méchanceté.
And the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees purify the outside of the cup and the plate, but the interior is full of extortion and wickedness.
40 Insensés, celui qui a fait le dehors, n'a-t-il pas fait aussi le dedans?
Ye fools, did not the One having made the outside also make the inside?
41 Mais plutôt donnez l'aumône de ce que vous avez, et voici, toutes choses vous seront nettes.
Therefore give alms of your substance; and behold all things are pure unto you.
42 Mais malheur à vous, Pharisiens; car vous payez la dîme de la menthe, et de la rue, et de toute sorte d'herbage, et vous négligez le jugement et l'amour de Dieu: il fallait faire ces choses-ci, et ne laisser point celles-là.
But woe unto you, Pharisees! because you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and you pass by judgment and the love of God: it behooveth to do these things, and not to omit those.
43 Malheur à vous, Pharisiens, qui aimez les premières places dans les Synagogues, et les salutations dans les marchés.
Woe unto you, Pharisees! because you love the front seat in the synagogues, and salutations in the forums.
44 Malheur à vous, Scribes et Pharisiens hypocrites; car vous êtes comme les sépulcres qui ne paraissent point, en sorte que les hommes qui passent par-dessus n'en savent rien.
Woe unto you! because you are like tombs unseen, and men walking over them do not know it.
45 Alors quelqu'un des Docteurs de la Loi prit la parole, et lui dit: Maître, en disant ces choses, tu nous dis aussi des injures.
And a certain one of the theologians responding says to Him, Teacher, speaking these things yon indeed insult us.
46 Et [Jésus lui] dit: malheur aussi à vous, Docteurs de la Loi, car vous chargez les hommes de fardeaux insupportables, mais vous-mêmes ne touchez point ces fardeaux de l'un de vos doigts.
And He said, Woe unto you, theologians! because you lay burdens on the people difficult to be borne, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
47 Malheur à vous; car vous bâtissez les sépulcres des Prophètes, que vos pères ont tués.
Woe unto you! because you build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48 Certes, vous témoignez que vous consentez aux actions de vos pères; car ils les ont tués, et vous bâtissez leurs sépulcres.
Therefore you are witnesses and you consent unto the works of your fathers: because they slew them, and you build.
49 C'est pourquoi aussi la sagesse de Dieu a dit: je leur enverrai des Prophètes et des Apôtres, et ils en tueront, et en chasseront.
Therefore the wisdom of God said, I will send unto them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will slay and persecute.
50 Afin que le sang de tous les Prophètes qui a été répandu dès la fondation du monde, soit redemandé à cette nation.
In order that the blood of all the prophets poured out from the foundation of the world, may be required from this generation;
51 Depuis le sang d'Abel, jusqu'au sang de Zacharie, qui fut tué entre l'autel et le Temple; oui, je vous dis qu'il sera redemandé à cette nation.
from the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the house; yea, I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.
52 Malheur à vous, Docteurs de la Loi; parce qu'ayant enlevé la clef de la science, vous-mêmes n'êtes point entrés, et vous avez empêché ceux qui entraient.
Woe unto you, theologians! because you have taken away the key of knowledge: you did not come in, and you prohibited those who were coming in.
53 Et comme il leur disait ces choses, les Scribes et les Pharisiens se mirent à le presser encore plus fortement, et à lui tirer de la bouche plusieurs choses;
And He having come out from thence, the scribes and Pharisees began vehemently to press on Him, and mouth after Him concerning many things;
54 Lui dressant des pièges, et tâchant de recueillir captieusement quelque chose de sa bouche, pour avoir de quoi l'accuser.
laying in wait, to catch something from His mouth.
