1 Or ce sont ici ceux de la province qui remontèrent de la captivité, d'entre ceux qui avaient été transportés, que Nébucadnetsar Roi de Babylone avait transportés à Babylone, et qui retournèrent à Jérusalem, et en Judée; chacun en sa ville;
Now these are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and that returned unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;
2 Qui vinrent avec Zorobabel, Jésuah, Néhémie, Séraja, Réhélaja, Mardochée, Bilsan, Mispar, Bigvaï, Réhun, et Bahana; le nombre, [dis-je], des hommes du peuple d'Israël fut [le suivant];
who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

the children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel;
57 Les enfants de Sépharia, les enfants de Hattil, les enfants de Pokéreth-hatsébajim, les enfants d'Ami.
the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the children of Ami.
58 Tous les Néthiniens, et les enfants des serviteurs de Salomon, [furent] trois cent quatre-vingt douze.
All the Nethinim, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
59 Or ce sont ici ceux qui montèrent de Telmelah, de Tel-harsa, de Kérub, d'Adan, [et] d'Immer; lesquels ne purent montrer la maison de leurs pères, ni leur race, [et faire voir] s'ils étaient d'Israël.
And these were they that went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer; but they could not tell their fathers' houses, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:
60 Les enfants de Délaja, les enfants de Tobija, les enfants de Nékoda, six cent cinquante et deux.
the children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.
61 Des enfants des Sacrificateurs; les enfants de Habaja, les enfants de Kots, les enfants de Barzillaï, qui ayant pris pour femme une des filles de Barzillaï Galaadite, fut appelé de leur nom.
And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.
62 Ceux-là cherchèrent leur registre, en recherchant leur généalogie, mais ils n'y furent point trouvés; c'est pourquoi ils furent rejetés de la sacrificature.
These sought their register, that is, the genealogy, but it was not found; therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood.
63 Et Attirsatha leur dit qu'ils ne mangeassent point des choses très-saintes, tandis que le Sacrificateur assisterait avec l'Urim et le Thummim.
And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.
64 Tout le peuple ensemble était de quarante-deux mille trois cent soixante;
The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,
65 Sans leurs serviteurs et leurs servantes, qui étaient sept mille trois cent trente-sept; et ils avaient deux cents chantres ou chanteuses.
beside their men-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven; and they had two hundred singing men and singing women.
66 Ils avaient sept cent trente-six chevaux, et deux cent quarante-cinq mulets,
Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
67 Quatre cent trente-cinq chameaux, et six mille sept cent vingt ânes.
their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
68 Et [quelques-uns] d'entre les Chefs des pères, après qu'ils furent venus pour [rebâtir] la maison de l'Eternel, qui habite à Jérusalem, offrant volontairement pour la maison de Dieu, afin de la remettre en son état,
And some of the heads of fathers' houses, when they came to the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God to set it up in its place;
69 Donnèrent au trésor de l'ouvrage, selon leur pouvoir, soixante et un mille drachmes d'or, et cinq mille mines d'argent, et cent robes de Sacrificateurs.
they gave after their ability into the treasury of the work threescore and one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand pounds of silver, and one hundred priests' tunics.
70 Et ainsi les Sacrificateurs, les Lévites, quelques-uns du peuple, les chantres, les portiers, et les Néthiniens, habitèrent dans leurs villes, et tous ceux d'Israël aussi dans leurs villes.
So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinim, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
