2 Chroniques 31

1 Or sitôt qu'on eut achevé toutes ces choses, tous ceux d'Israël qui s'étaient trouvés là, allèrent par les villes de Juda, et brisèrent les statues, et coupèrent les bocages, et démolirent les hauts lieux, et les autels de tout Juda et Benjamin, et ils en firent de même en Ephraïm et en Manassé, jusqu'à détruire tout; puis tous les enfants d'Israël retournèrent chacun en sa possession dans leurs villes.

And when all these thinges were finished, all Israel that were found in the cities of Iudah, went out and brake the images, and cut downe the groues, and brake downe the hie places, and the altars thorowout all Iudah and Beniamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, vntil they had made an ende: afterwarde all the children of Israel returned euery man to his possession, into their owne cities.

2 Ezéchias aussi rétablit les départements des Sacrificateurs et des Lévites, selon les départements qui en avaient été faits, chacun selon son ministère, tant les Sacrificateurs, que les Lévites, pour les holocaustes, et pour les sacrifices de prospérités, afin de faire le service, de célébrer, et de chanter les louanges [de Dieu] aux portes du camp de l'Eternel.

And Hezekiah appoynted the courses of the Priests and Leuites by their turnes, euery man according to his office, both Priestes and Leuites, for the burnt offring and peace offrings, to minister and to giue thankes, and to prayse in the gates of the tentes of the Lord.

3 Il fit aussi une ordonnance par laquelle le Roi serait chargé d'une contribution prise de ses finances pour les holocaustes, [savoir] pour les holocaustes du matin et du soir, et pour les holocaustes des Sabbats, et des nouvelles lunes, et des fêtes solennelles, selon qu'il est écrit dans la Loi de l'Eternel.

(And the Kings portion was of his owne substance for the burnt offrings, euen for ye burnt offrings of the morning and of the euening, and the burnt offrings for the Sabbaths, and for the new moones, and for the solemne feastes, as it is written in the Law of the Lord)

4 Et il dit au peuple, [savoir] aux habitants de Jérusalem, qu'ils donnassent la portion des Sacrificateurs et des Lévites, afin qu'ils prissent courage [pour observer] la Loi de l'Eternel.

He commanded also the people that dwelt in Ierusalem, to giue a part to the Priestes, and Leuites, that they might be encouraged in the Law of the Lord.

5 Et sitôt que la chose fut publiée, les enfants d'Israël apportèrent en abondance les prémices du froment, du vin, de l'huile, du miel, et de tout le provenu des champs, ils apportèrent, [dis-je], les dîmes de toutes ces choses en abondance.

And when the commandement was spread, the children of Israel brought abundance of first fruites, of corne, wine, and oyle, and honie, and of all the increase of the fielde, and the tithes of all things brought they abundantly.

6 Et les enfants d'Israël et de Juda, qui habitaient dans les villes de Juda, apportèrent aussi les dîmes du gros et du menu bétail, et les dîmes des choses saintes, qui étaient consacrées à l'Eternel leur Dieu; et les mirent par monceaux.

And the children of Israel and Iudah that dwelt in ye cities of Iudah, they also brought the tithes of bullockes and sheepe, and the holy tithes which were consecrate vnto the Lord their God, and laide them on many heapes.

7 Ils commencèrent au troisième mois de faire les premiers monceaux, et au septième mois ils les achevèrent.

In the thirde moneth they beganne to lay the foundation of the heapes, and finished them in the seuenth moneth.

8 Alors Ezéchias et les principaux vinrent, virent les monceaux, et bénirent l'Eternel et son peuple d'Israël.

And when Hezekiah and the princes came, and saw the heapes, they blessed the Lord and his people Israel.

9 Puis Ezéchias s'informa des Sacrificateurs et des Lévites touchant ces monceaux.

And Hezekiah questioned with the Priests and the Leuites concerning the heapes.

10 Et Hazaria le principal Sacrificateur, qui était de la famille de Tsadoc, lui répondit, et [lui] dit: Depuis qu'on a commencé d'apporter des offrandes dans la maison de l'Eternel, nous avons mangé, et nous avons été rassasiés, et il en est resté en grande abondance; car l'Eternel a béni son peuple, et cette grande quantité est ce qu'il y a eu de reste.

And Azariah the chiefe Priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and sayde, Since the people beganne to bring the offrings into the house of the Lord, we haue eaten and haue bene satisfied, and there is left in abundance: for the Lord hath blessed his people, and this abundance that is left.

11 Alors Ezéchias commanda qu'on préparât des chambres dans la maison de l'Eternel; et ils les préparèrent.

And Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the Lord: and they prepared them,

12 Puis ils portèrent dedans fidèlement les offrandes, et les dîmes, et les choses consacrées, et Conania Lévite en eut l'intendance, et Simhi son frère était commis sous lui.

And caryed in the first fruites, and the tithes, and the dedicate things faithfully: and ouer them was Conaniah the Leuite, the chiefe, and Shimei his brother the seconde.

13 Et Jéhiël, Hazazia, Nahath, Hasaël, Jérimoth, Jozabad, Eliël, Jismacia, Mahath, et Bénaia étaient commis sous la conduite de Conania, et de Simhi son frère, par le commandement du Roi Ezéchias, et de Hazaria Gouverneur de la maison de Dieu.

And Iehiel, and Azariah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Ierimoth, and Iozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah were ouerseers by the appointment of Conaniah, and Shimei his brother, and by the commandement of Hezekiah the King, and of Azariah the chiefe of the house of God.

14 Et Coré fils de Jimna Lévite, qui était portier vers l'Orient, avait la charge des choses qui étaient volontairement offertes à Dieu pour fournir l'offrande élevée de l'Eternel, et les choses très-saintes.

And Kore the sonne of Imnah the Leuite porter towarde the East, was ouer the things that were willingly offred vnto God, to distribute the oblations of the Lord, and the holy things that were consecrate.

15 Et il avait sous sa conduite Héden, Minjamin, Jésuah, Sémahia, Amaria, et Sécania, dans les villes des Sacrificateurs, ayant cette charge d'ordinaire, pour distribuer les portions à leurs frères, tant aux plus petits qu'aux plus grands.

And at his hande were Eden, and Miniamin, and Ieshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shechaniah, in the cities of the Priestes, to distribute with fidelitie to their brethren by courses, both to the great and small,

16 Outre cela on fit un dénombrement selon les généalogies des mâles d'entre eux, depuis ceux de trois ans, et au dessus, [savoir] de tous ceux qui entraient dans la maison de l'Eternel, pour y faire ce qu'il y fallait faire chaque jour, selon leur ministère et leurs charges, suivant leurs départements.

Their daily portion: beside their generation being males from three yeere olde and aboue, euen to all that entred into the house of the Lord to their office in their charge, according to their courses:

17 Et outre le dénombrement que l'on fit des Sacrificateurs selon leur généalogie et selon la maison de leurs pères, et des Lévites, depuis ceux de vingt ans et au dessus, selon leurs départements;

Both to the generation of the Priestes after the house of their fathers, and to the Leuites from twentie yeere olde and aboue, according to their charge in their courses:

18 On fit aussi un dénombrement selon leurs généalogies de toutes leurs familles, de leurs femmes, de leurs fils, et de leurs filles, pour toute l'assemblée, et en toute sincérité ils se sanctifiaient avec soin.

And to the generation of all their children, their wiues, and their sonnes and their daughters throughout all ye Congregation: for by their fidelitie are they partakers of the holy things.

19 Et quant aux enfants d'Aaron Sacrificateurs, qui étaient à la campagne et dans les faubourgs de leurs villes, dans chaque ville, il y avait des gens nommés par leur nom, pour distribuer la portion à tous les mâles des Sacrificateurs, et à tous ceux des Lévites dont on avait fait le dénombrement selon leur généalogie.

Also to the sonnes of Aaron, the Priestes, which were in the fieldes and suburbes of their cities, in euery citie the men that were appointed by names, shoulde giue portions to all the males of the Priestes, and to all the generation of the Leuites.

20 Ezéchias en fit ainsi par tout Juda, et il fit ce qui est bon, et droit, et véritable, en la présence de l'Eternel son Dieu.

And thus did Hezekiah throughout al Iudah, and did well, and vprightly, and truely before the Lord his God.

21 Et il travailla de tout son cœur dans tout l'ouvrage qu'il entreprit pour le service de la maison de Dieu, et dans la Loi, et dans les commandements, recherchant son Dieu; et il prospéra.

And in all the workes that he began for the seruice of the house of God, both in the Law and in the commandements, to seeke his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
