1 Jean 5
1 Quiconque croit que Jésus est le Christ, est né de Dieu; et quiconque aime celui qui l'a engendré, aime aussi celui qui est né de lui.
Every one believing that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God: and every one loving with divine love him who begat, also loves him who has been begotten of him, with divine love.
2 Nous connaissons à cette marque que nous aimons les enfants de Dieu, c'est lorsque nous aimons Dieu, et que nous gardons ses commandements.
In this we know that we love the children of God with divine love, when we love God with divine love and keep his commandments.
3 Car c'est en ceci que consiste [notre] amour pour Dieu; que nous gardions ses commandements; et ses commandements ne sont point pénibles.
For this is the divine love of God, that we may keep his commandments: and his commandments are not heavy:
4 Parce que tout ce qui est né de Dieu surmonte le monde; et ce qui nous fait remporter la victoire sur le monde, c'est notre foi.
because everything which has been born of God conquers the world: and this is the victory which has conquered the world, our faith.
5 Qui est celui qui surmonte le monde, sinon celui qui croit que Jésus est le Fils de Dieu?
Who is the one conquering the world, except the one believing that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 C'est ce Jésus qui est venu par eau et par sang, et non-seulement par l'eau, mais par l'eau et le sang; et c'est l'Esprit qui en rend témoignage; or l'Esprit est la vérité.
He is the one having come through water and blood, Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood; the Spirit is the one who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
7 Car il y en a trois dans le Ciel qui rendent témoignage, le Père, la Parole, et le Saint-Esprit; et ces trois-là ne sont qu'un.
Because there are three who are bearing witness,
8 Il y en a aussi trois qui rendent témoignage sur la terre, savoir l'Esprit, l'eau, et le Sang; et ces trois-là se rapportent à un.
the Spirit and the water, and blood: and these three are one.
9 Si nous recevons le témoignage des hommes, le témoignage de Dieu est plus considérable, or c'est là le témoignage de Dieu, lequel il a rendu de son Fils.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: because this is the witness of God that he has testified concerning his Son.
10 Celui qui croit au Fils de Dieu, il a au-dedans de lui-même le témoignage de Dieu; mais celui qui ne croit point Dieu, il l'a fait menteur; car il n'a point cru au témoignage que Dieu a rendu de son Fils.
The one believing on the Son of God has the witness in himself: the one not believing God has made him a liar; because he has not believed in the testimony which God has testified concerning his Son.
11 Et c'est ici le témoignage, [savoir] que Dieu nous a donné la vie éternelle; et cette vie est en son Fils. (aiōnios g166)
And this is the testimony, that God has given unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
12 Celui qui a le Fils, a la vie, celui qui n'a point le Fils de Dieu, n'a point la vie.
The one having the Son has the life; the one not having the Son of God has not the life.
13 Je vous ai écrit ces choses, à vous qui croyez au Nom du Fils de Dieu, afin que vous sachiez que vous avez la vie éternelle, et afin que vous croyiez au Nom du Fils de Dieu. (aiōnios g166)
I have written these things unto you, in order that you may know that you have eternal life; to those who believe on the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)
14 Et c'est ici la confiance que nous avons en Dieu, que si nous demandons quelque chose selon sa volonté, il nous exauce.
And this is the assurance which we have toward him, that, if we may ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
15 Et si nous savons qu'il nous exauce, en quoi que nous demandions, nous le savons parce que nous obtenons les choses que nous lui avons demandées.
And if we know that he hears us as to whatsoever we may ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked from him.
16 Si quelqu'un voit son frère pécher d'un péché qui n'est point à la mort, il priera [pour lui], et [Dieu] lui donnera la vie; savoir à ceux qui ne pèchent point à la mort. Il y a un péché à la mort; je ne te dis point de prier pour ce péché-là.
If any one may see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and he will give him life to those sinning not unto death. There is a sin unto death; concerning this I do not say that you may ask.
17 Toute iniquité est un péché; mais il y a quelque péché qui n'est point à la mort.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is sin not unto death.
18 Nous savons que quiconque est né de Dieu, ne pèche point; mais celui qui est engendré de Dieu, se conserve soi-même, et le malin [esprit] ne le touche point.
We know that every one who has been born of God, sins not; but the one having been born of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him.
19 Nous savons que nous sommes [nés] de Dieu; mais tout le monde est plongé dans le mal.
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the evil one.
20 Or nous savons que le Fils de Dieu est venu, et il nous a donné l'intelligence pour connaître le Véritable; et nous sommes dans le Véritable, [savoir], en son Fils Jésus-Christ; il est le vrai Dieu, et la vie éternelle. (aiōnios g166)
But we know that the Son of God has come and has given unto us intelligence, that we know the truth. And we are in the true one, in his Son Jesus Christ; he is the true God, and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
21 Mes petits enfants, gardez-vous des idoles. Amen.
Little children, keep yourselves from the idols.
