Lévitique 24

1 Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:

And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:

2 Donne tes ordres aux fils d'Israël, qu'ils t'apportent de l'huile d'olive pure, de l'huile à éclairer faite d'olives pures, afin que la lampe brûle sans cesse

Command the sons of Israel, That they bring unto thee—pure oil olive, beaten, for giving light, —to cause the lamp to burn up continually.

3 Devant le voile intérieur du tabernacle du témoignage. Aaron et ses fils la feront brûler sans cesse devant le Seigneur, du soir au matin; c'est une loi perpétuelle pour toutes vos générations.

Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron order it, from evening until morning, before Yahweh continually, —a statute age-abiding, to your generations.

4 Vous allumerez les lampes, sur le chandelier d'or pur, devant le Seigneur; elles brûleront jusqu'au matin.

Upon the pure lampstand, shall he order the lamps, —before Yahweh, continually.

5 Et vous prendrez de la fleur de farine, et vous en ferez douze pains, chacun de deux dixièmes.

And thou shalt take fine meal, and bake it, in twelve cakes, —of two-tenths, shall each cake be.

6 Vous, les poserez en deux propositions, six pains par proposition, sur la table d'or pur, devant le Seigneur.

And thou shalt set them in two rows, six in a row, —upon the pure table, before Yahweh.

7 Et vous poserez, sur chaque proposition, de l'encens pur et du sel qui seront pour les pains, comme un mémorial placé devant le Seigneur.

And thou shalt put upon each row pure frankincense, —so shall it belong unto the bread as a memorial, an altar-flame unto Yahweh.

8 Chaque jour de sabbat, on les placera devant le Seigneur, en présence des fils d'Israël, en signe de perpétuelle alliance.

Sabbath day by sabbath day, shall he order it before Yahweh continually, —from the sons of Israel as an age-abiding covenant:

9 Puis, ils appartiendront à Aaron et à ses fils, qui les mangeront en lieu saint; car c'est chose souverainement sainte, et à eux destinée parmi les offrandes faites au Seigneur; loi perpétuelle.

so shall it be for Aaron and for his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, —for most holy, shall it be unto him from among the altar-flames of Yahweh, a statute age-abiding.

10 Or, le fils d'une femme israélite, qui était aussi fils d'un Egyptien, et demeurait parmi les enfants d'Israël, sortit et vint à se battre dans le camp avec un Israélite.

And forth went the son of a woman of Israel—he being the son of a man of Egypt—in the midst of the sons of Israel;

11 Et le fils de la femme israélite, ayant prononcé le nom, l'avait maudit; on le conduisit donc à Moïse. Or, sa mère s'appelait Salomith, fille de Dabri, de la tribu de Dan.

and the son of the woman of Israel, and a man of Israel, reviled one another in the camp. And the son of the Israelitish woman uttered contemptuously the Name, and reviled. So they brought him in unto Moses, —now, the name of his mother, was Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan;

12 Aussitôt, il fut mis en prison pour être jugé, selon le commandement du Seigneur.

and they put him in ward, —that a clear answer might be given to them at the mouth of Yahweh.

13 Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:

Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

14 Emmène hors du camp l'homme qui a blasphémé; que tous ceux qui l'ont entendu posent leurs mains sur sa tête, et que tout le peuple le lapide.

Bring forth him that reviled unto the outside of the camp, then shall all that heard [him] lean their hands upon his head, —and all the assembly shall stone him.

15 Parle ensuite aux fils d'Israël, et dis-leur: Tout homme qui maudira Dieu portera son péché.

And, unto the sons of Israel, shalt thou speak saying, —What man soever curseth his God shall bear his sin.

16 Et celui qui blasphèmera le nom saint de Dieu mourra de mort; que toute la synagogue d'Israël le lapide; prosélyte ou indigène, quiconque aura blasphémé le nom du Seigneur, périra.

And, he that contemptuously uttereth the name of Yahweh, shall be, surely put to death, all the assembly shall, surely stone, him, —as the sojourner so the home-born, when he contemptuously uttereth the Name, he shall be put to death.

17 Que l'homme qui aura frappé un autre homme jusqu'à lui ôter la vie, meure de mort.

And, when, any man, by smiting taketh the life of any human being, he shall be surely put to death,

18 Celui qui aura frappé une tête de bétail qui en sera morte, rendra bête pour bête.

And he that by smiting taketh away the life of a beast, shall make it good, —life for life.

19 Celui qui aura défiguré son prochain par une blessure, sera défiguré pareillement.

And, when, any man, inflicteth a blemish upon his neighbour, as he hath done, so, shall it be done to him:

20 Meurtrissure pour meurtrissure, œil pour œil, dent pour dent; qu'à celui qui aura défiguré son prochain par une blessure, la même blessure soit faite.

fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, as he inflicteth a blemish upon a human being, so, shall one be inflicted upon him.

21 Quiconque aura frappé un homme, si cet homme meurt, sera mis à mort.

And he that killeth a beast, shall make it good, -and he that killeth a human being, shall be put to death.

22 Il n'y aura qu'une même justice pour le prosélyte et pour l'indigène; car je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.

One rule, shall ye have, as the sojourner, so the home-born, shall be, —For, I—Yahweh, am your God.

23 Et Moïse parla aux fils d'Israël; ceux-ci entraînèrent le blasphémateur hors du camp, et ils le lapidèrent; et les fils d'Israël firent ce qu'avait prescrit le Seigneur à Moïse.

So then Moses spake unto the sons of Israel, and they took forth the reviler, unto the outside of the camp, and stoned him with stones. Thus, the sons of Israel did, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
