Joël 3

1 Car voici qu'en ce temps, et en ces jours-là, quand J'aurai fait revenir de la captivité Juda et Jérusalem,

For, behold, in those days and at that time, when I shall have turned the captivity of Juda and Jerusalem,

2 J'assemblerai toutes les nations et les conduirai dans la vallée de Josaphat; là Je plaiderai avec elles pour Mon peuple et pour Israël, Mon héritage: car elles l'ont dispersé parmi les Gentils, qui se sont partagé Ma terre.

I will also gather all the Gentiles, and bring them down to the valley of Josaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and my heritage Israel, who have been dispersed among the Gentiles; and [these Gentiles] have divided my land,

3 Et ils ont tiré Mon peuple au sort, et ils ont livré des enfants à la prostitution, et ils ont vendu des jeunes filles pour du vin, et ils ont bu.

and cast lots over my people, and have given [their] boys to harlots, and sold [their] girls for wine, and have drunk.

4 Or, qu'y a-t-il entre vous et Moi, Tyr, Sidon, Galilée des Philistins? Est-ce que vous pourrez user de représailles avec Moi? Ou Me garderez-vous rancune en votre cœur? Je vous rétribuerai, Moi, vite et sévèrement, sur vos têtes:

And what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Sidon, and all Galilee of the Gentiles? do ye render me a recompense? or do ye bear malice against me? quickly and speedily will I return your recompense on your own heads:

5 Parce que vous avez pris Mon argent et Mon or; parce que vous avez porté dans vos temples Mes ornements précieux;

because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and ye have brought my choice ornaments into your temples;

6 parce que vous avez vendu aux fils des Grecs les fils de Juda et les fils de Jérusalem, pour les chasser de leurs frontières.

and ye have sold the children of Juda and the children of Jerusalem to the children of the Greeks, that ye might expel them from their coasts.

7 Mais voilà que Je les ramènerai des contrées où vous les avez conduits, et Je vous rétribuerai sur vos têtes.

Therefore, behold, I [will] raise them up out of the place whither ye have sold them, and I will return your recompense on your own heads.

8 Et Je donnerai vos fils et vos filles aux fils de Juda, pour qu'ils les vendent comme captifs chez une nation lointaine; ainsi a parlé le Seigneur.

And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Juda, and they shall sell them into captivity to a far distant nation: for the Lord has spoken [it].

9 Publiez ces choses parmi les Gentils; sanctifiez la guerre; excitez les combattants, vous tous hommes exercés aux armes; rassemblez-vous, et partez.

Proclaim these things among the Gentiles; declare war, arouse the warriors, draw near and go up, all ye men of war.

10 Forgez des glaives avec vos socs de charrue, et, avec vos faux, des javelines. Que le faible lui-même dise: Je suis fort.

Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your sickles into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

11 Venez tous ensemble et entrez, vous nations d'alentour; vous, fils d'Israël, réunissez-vous là: que l'homme pacifique devienne un guerrier.

Gather yourselves together, and go in, all ye nations round about, and gather yourselves there; let the timid become a warrior.

12 Que toutes les nations se lèvent; qu'elles se rendent dans la vallée de Josaphat; c'est là que Je siège pour juger les nations d'alentour.

Let them be aroused, let all the nations go up to the valley of Josaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the Gentiles round about.

13 Envoyez des faucilles, car le vendangeur est prêt; entrez et foulez aux pieds les grappes, car le pressoir est plein; laissez déborder les cuves, car leur méchanceté a comble la mesure.

Bring forth the sickles, for the vintage is come: go in, tread [the grapes], for the press is full: cause the vats to overflow; for their wickedness is multiplied.

14 Les échos ont retenti dans la vallée du jugement; car le jour du Seigneur est proche dans la vallée du jugement.

Noises have resounded in the valley of judgment: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of judgment.

15 Le soleil et la terre seront enveloppés de ténèbres, et les étoiles retireront leur lumière.

The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their light.

16 Le Seigneur jettera de grands cris du haut de Sion; Il fera entendre Sa voix du haut de Jérusalem; le ciel et la terre trembleront; mais le Seigneur épargnera Son peuple, et Il fortifiera les fils d'Israël.

And the Lord shall cry out of Sion, and shall utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heaven and the earth shall be shaken, but the Lord shall spare his people, and shall strengthen the children of Israel.

17 Et vous connaîtrez que Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu, qui réside en Sion, sur la montagne sainte; et Jérusalem sera sainte, et les étrangers n'y passeront plus.

And ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, who dwell in Sion my holy mountain: and Jerusalem shall be holy, and strangers shall not pass through her anymore.

18 Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là les montagnes ruisselleront de douceur, et les collines de lait; et l'eau coulera de toutes les sources de Juda, et une fontaine jaillira de la maison du Seigneur, et elle abreuvera le val de Sétim.

And it shall come to pass in that day [that] the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the fountains of Juda shall flow with water, and a fountain shall go forth of the house of the Lord, and water the valley of flags.

19 L'Égypte sera mise à néant; l'Idumée sera un champ de désolation, à cause des iniquités de ses fils contre Juda, parce qu'ils ont versé le sang innocent sur leur terre.

Egypt shall be a desolation, and Idumea shall be a desolate plain, because of the wrongs of the children of Juda, because they have shed righteous blood in their land.

20 Et la Judée sera habitée dans tous les siècles, et Jérusalem dans les générations des générations.

But Judea shall be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem to all generations.

21 Et Je rechercherai leur sang, et Je n'absoudrai point ceux qui l'ont versé, et le Seigneur aura Son tabernacle en Sion.

And I will make inquisition for their blood, and will by no means leave it unavenged: and the Lord shall dwell in Sion.
