Jérémie 47

1 Parole du Seigneur qui vint à Jérémie après que le chef des cuisines Nabuzardan l'eut renvoyé de Rama, quand il avait des menottes au milieu des captifs de Juda que l'on emmenait à Babylone.

The word that came from the Lord to Jeremias, after that Nabuzardan the captain of the guard had let him go out of Rama, when he had taken him in manacles in the midst of the captivity of Juda, [even] those who were carried to Babylon.

2 Et le chef des cuisines le prit, et lui dit: Le Seigneur ton Dieu a prononcé tout ce mal sur ce pays.

And the chief captain of the guard took him, and said to him, The Lord your God has pronounced all these evils upon this place:

3 Et le Seigneur a fait cela, parce que vous avez péché contre lui, et que vous n'avez point écouté sa voix.

and the Lord has done it; because you sinned against him, and listened not to his voice.

4 Et moi, voilà que j'ai ôté les menottes que tu avais aux mains. S'il te plaît de venir avec moi à Babylone, j'aurai les yeux sur toi.

Behold, I have loosed you from the manacles that were upon your hands. If it seem good to you to go with me to Babylon, then will I set mine eyes upon you.

5 Sinon va-t'en, retourne auprès de Godolias, fils d'Achicam, fils de Saphan, que le roi de Babylone a fait gouverneur de la terre de Juda, et demeure avec lui, parmi le peuple de Juda; et où il te semblera bon d'aller va; et le chef des cuisines lui fit des présents, et il le congédia.

But if not, depart; return to Godolias the son of Achicam, the son of Saphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed governor in the land of Juda, and dwell with him in the midst of the people in the land of Juda: to whatever places it seems good in your eyes to go, do you even go. And the captain of the guard made him presents, and let him go.

6 Et il se rendit près de Godolias en Masphath, et il demeura parmi ceux de son peuple qui étaient restés en la terre.

And he came to Godolias to Massepha, and lived in the midst of his people that was left in the land.

7 Et tous les chefs de l'armée du peuple qui étaient dans le pays, et leurs hommes, apprirent que le roi de Babylone avait fait Godolias gouverneur de la terre, et qu'il lui avait confié les hommes qu'il n'emmenait pas à Babylone, et leurs femmes.

And all the leaders of the host that was in the country, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Godolias [governor] in the land, and they committed to him the men and their wives, whom [Nabuchodonosor had] not removed to Babylon.

8 Alors Iëlsma, fils de Nathanias, Joanan, fils de Carée, et Saraïas, fils de Thanaémeth, et les fils de Jophé, de Nétopbath, et Émoi, fils de Moehati, avec leurs hommes, allèrent trouver Godolias à Masphath.

And there came to Godolias to Massepha Ismael the son of Nathanias, and Joanan son of Caree, and Saraeas the son of Thanaemeth, and the sons of Jophe the Netophathite, and Ezonias son of the Mochathite, they and their men.

9 Et Godolias leur prêta serment, à eux et à leurs hommes, disant: Ne craignez point devant les enfants des Chaldéens; demeurez en la terre, et travaillez pour le roi de Babylone; il en ira mieux pour vous.

And Godolias swore to them and to their men, saying, Be not afraid before the children of the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be better for you.

10 Pour moi, voilà que je demeure devant vous à Masphath, pour m'y tenir à la portée des Chaldéens qui viendraient contre vous; récoltez donc votre vin, vos fruits, votre huile; remplissez vos vases et restez dans les villes que vous occupez.

And, behold, I dwell in your presence at Massepha, to stand before the Chaldeans who shall come against you: and do you gather grapes, and fruits, and oil, and put [them] into your vessels, and dwell in the cities which you have obtained possession of.

11 Or tous les Juifs qui étaient, soit en Moab ou chez les fils d'Ammon, soit en Idumée, soit dans toute la terre sainte, apprirent que le roi de Babylone avait gracié quelques restes de Juda, et qu'il avait mis à leur tête Godolias, fils d'Achicam.

And all the Jews that were in Moab, and amongst the children of Ammon, and those [that were] in Idumea, and those [that were] in all [the rest of] the country, heard that the king of Babylon [had] granted a remnant to Juda, and that he had appointed over them Godolias the son of Achicam.

12 Ils allèrent donc trouver Godolias en la terre de Juda, à Masphath, et ils récoltèrent du vin, beaucoup de fruits et de l'huile.

And they came to Godolias into the land of Juda, to Massepha, and gathered grapes, and very much summer fruit, and oil.

13 Et Joanan, fils de Carée, et tous les chefs de l'armée qui étaient dans les champs, allèrent à Masphath auprès de Godolias.

And Joanan the son of Caree, and all the leaders of the host, who were in the fields, came to Godolias to Massepha,

14 Et ils lui dirent: Sais-tu bien que Hélium, roi des fils d'Ammon, a envoyé contre toi Ismaël, pour te frapper à mort? Et Godolias ne les crut pas;

and said to him, Do you indeed know that king Beleissa son of Ammon has sent Ismael to you to kill you? But Godolias believed them not.

15 Et Joanan dit secrètement à Godolias en Masphath: Je partirai et je tuerai Ismaël, et que nul ne le sache; de peur qu'il ne te frappe à mort, que tout Juda, qui est réuni auprès de toi, ne soit dispersé, et que ce qui reste de Juda ne périsse.

And Joanan said to Godolias secretly in Massepha, I will go now and strike Ismael, and let no man know [it]; lest he kill you, and all the Jews that are gathered to you be dispersed, and the remnant of Juda perish.

16 Et Godolias dit à Joanan: Ne fais pas cela; car tu parles faussement contre Ismaël.

But Godolias said to Joanan, Do not the thing, for you speak lies concerning Ismael.
