Isaïe 65
1 Je me suis manifesté à ceux qui ne me demandaient point; j'ai été trouvé par ceux qui ne me cherchaient pas; j'ai dit à un peuple qui n'avait point invoqué mon nom: Me voici.
I have been ready to give an answer to those who did not make prayer to me; I have been offering myself to those who were not searching for me; I said, Here am I, here am I, to a nation which gave no respect to my name.
2 Durant tout le jour j'ai tendu les mains à un peuple désobéissant et contradicteur, à des hommes qui marchaient non dans la bonne voie, mais à la suite de leurs péchés.
All day my hands have been stretched out to an uncontrolled people, who go in an evil way, after the purposes of their hearts;
3 Ce peuple est celui qui ne cesse pas de m'irriter en face; ils sacrifient dans leurs jardins, et ils brûlent de l'encens sur des briques, pour des divinités qui n'existent pas.
A people who make me angry every day, making offerings in gardens, and burning perfumes on bricks.
4 Ils se couchent sur des sépulcres ou des cavernes, à propos de leurs songes; et ils mangent de la chair de porc avec le jus de leurs victimes; et tous leurs vases sont souillés.
Who are seated in the resting-places of the dead, and by night are in the secret places; who take pig's flesh for food, and have the liquid of disgusting things in their vessels.
5 Ce sont eux qui disent: Loin de moi, ne m'approche pas; car je suis pur. Mon courroux les réduira en fumée, et en eux brûlera un feu éternel.
Who say, Keep away, do not come near me, for fear that I make you holy: these are a smoke in my nose, a fire burning all day.
6 Voilà qu'il est écrit devant mes yeux: Je ne garderai point le silence jusqu'à ce que j'aie puni dans leur sein
See, it is recorded before me, says the Lord: I will not keep back my hand, till I have sent punishment,
7 Leurs péchés et ceux de leurs pères, dit le Seigneur. Ceux qui ont sacrifié sur les montagnes, ceux qui m'ont outragé sur les collines, recevront dans leur sein la punition de leurs œuvres.
For their sins and the sins of their fathers, who were burning perfumes on the mountains, and saying evil things against me on the hills: so I will take the measure of their sins, and will send the punishment for them into their breast.
8 Ainsi dit le Seigneur: De même que s'il se trouve un grain mûr dans un verjus, on dit: Ne le gâtez point, parce que la bénédiction est en lui; ainsi ferai-je pour l'amour d'un seul qui me sert; pour l'amour de celui-là je ne les détruirai pas tous.
This is the word of the Lord: As the new wine is seen in the grapes, and they say, Do not send destruction on it, for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants, in order that I may not put an end to them all.
9 Et je délivrerai la postérité de Jacob et de Juda; elle aura pour héritage ma montagne sainte; mes élus et mes serviteurs l'auront pour héritage, et ils y demeureront.
And I will take a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah one who will have my mountains for a heritage: and the people I have taken to be mine will have it for themselves, and my servants will have their resting-place there.
10 Et il y aura dans la forêt des bergeries pour les menus troupeaux; et dans la vallée d'Achor se reposeront les bœufs de mon peuple, de ceux qui m'auront cherché.
And Sharon will be a grass-land for the flocks, and the valley of Achor a resting-place for the herds: for my people whose hearts have been turned back to me.
11 Et vous qui m'abandonnez et qui oubliez ma montagne sainte, qui dressez une table pour le démon et qui mêlez le vin pour faire des libations à la fortune,
But as for you who have given up the Lord, who have no care for my holy mountain, who get ready a table for Chance, and make offerings of mixed wine to Fate;
12 Je vous livrerai au glaive, vous tomberez sous le couteau; car je vous ai appelés, et vous ne m'avez point obéi; j'ai parlé, et vous n'avez pas entendu, et devant moi vous avez fait le mal, et ce que je rejetais, vous l'avez choisi.
Your fate will be the sword, and you will all go down to death: because when my voice came to you, you made no answer; you did not give ear to my word; but you did what was evil in my eyes, desiring what was not pleasing to me.
13 C'est pourquoi, voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Ceux qui me servent mangeront; et vous, vous aurez faim; ceux qui me servent boiront, et vous, vous aurez soif.
For this cause says the Lord God, My servants will have food, but you will be in need of food: my servants will have drink, but you will be dry: my servants will have joy, but you will be shamed:
14 Ceux qui me servent vivront dans la joie, et vous, vous serez confondus; ceux qui me servent tressailliront d'allégresse, et vous, vous crierez dans la tristesse de votre cœur, et vous hurlerez dans le déchirement de votre esprit.
My servants will make songs in the joy of their hearts, but you will be crying for sorrow, and making sounds of grief from a broken spirit.
15 Et vous laisserez votre nom comme un objet de dégoût à mes élus, et le Seigneur vous détruira, et un nom nouveau sera donné à ceux qui le servent.
And your name will become a curse to my people, and the Lord God will put you to death, and give his servants another name:
16 Et ce nom sera béni sur la terre; car ils béniront le Dieu véritable; et ceux qui jureront sur la terre jureront par le Dieu véritable; ils oublieront leur ancienne affliction, qui ne reviendra plus en leur cœur.
So that he who is requesting a blessing will make use of the name of the true God, and he who takes an oath will do so by the true God; because the past troubles are gone out of mind, and because they are covered from my eyes.
17 Car il y aura un ciel nouveau et une terre nouvelle; on ne se souviendra plus des choses d'autrefois, et le souvenir n'en reviendra plus en leur cœur.
For see, I am making a new heaven and a new earth: and the past things will be gone completely out of mind.
18 Mais ils y trouveront la joie et l'allégresse; car moi-même je ferai de Jérusalem l'allégresse, et de mon peuple la joie.
But men will be glad and have joy for ever in what I am making; for I am making Jerusalem a delight, and her people a joy.
19 Et à mon tour je ferai de Jérusalem mes délices, et de mon peuple ma joie; et l'on n'y entendra plus la voix des pleurs, ni celle des gémissements.
And I will be glad over Jerusalem, and have joy in my people: and the voice of weeping will no longer be sounding in her, or the voice of grief.
20 Il n'y aura plus là ni enfant qui meure avant l'âge, ni vieillard qui ne remplisse son temps. Le jeune homme vivra cent ans, et le pécheur à sa mort aura aussi cent ans; mais celui-là sera maudit.
No longer will there be there a child whose days are cut short, or an old man whose days have not come to their full measure: for the young man at his death will be a hundred years old, and he whose life is shorter than a hundred years will seem as one cursed.
21 Et ils bâtiront des maisons, et ils y demeureront, et ils y planteront des vignes, et ils en mangeront les fruits.
And they will be building houses and living in them; planting vine-gardens and getting the fruit of them.
22 Et ils ne bâtiront plus pour autrui, et ils ne planteront plus pour que d'autres mangent. Les jours de mon peuple seront comme les jours de l'arbre de vie, et les travaux où ils auront pris de la peine atteindront la vieillesse.
They will no longer be building for the use of others, or planting for others to have the fruit: for the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and my loved ones will have joy in full measure in the work of their hands.
23 Mes élus ne se fatigueront pas en vain; ils n'auront point d'enfants pour leur malédiction, car c'est une race bénie de Dieu; et leurs petits enfants comme eux seront bénis.
Their work will not be for nothing, and they will not give birth to children for destruction; for they are a seed to whom the Lord has given his blessing, and their offspring will be with them.
24 Et avant qu'ils aient crié je les aurai exaucés; pendant qu'ils parleront encore, je dirai: Qu'y a-t-il?
And before they make their request I will give an answer, and while they are still making prayer to me, I will give ear.
25 Alors les loups et les agneaux viendront paître ensemble; le lion mangera de la paille comme le bœuf, et le serpent mangera la terre comme du pain. Ils ne nuiront à personne; ils ne détruiront rien sur ma montagne sainte, dit le Seigneur.
The wolf and the lamb will take their food together, and the lion will make a meal of grass like the ox: but dust will be the snake's food. There will be no cause of pain or destruction in all my holy mountain, says the Lord.
