Osée 9
1 Ne te réjouis pas, Israël, ne te mets pas en fête, comme les gentils, parce que tu t'es prostitué en t'éloignant de ton Dieu, tu as aimé les dons plus que des aires pleines de blé.
Rejoice not, O Israel, for gladness, as other people; for thou art gone astray, unfaithful to thy God: thou hast loved the wages of sin upon every corn-filled threshing-floor.
2 Mais l'aire et le pressoir les ont méconnus, et le vin les a trompés.
The threshing-floor and the wine-press shall not feed them, and the new wine shall deceive them.
3 Ils ne sont point restés en la terre du Seigneur; Éphraïm a demeuré en Égypte, et ils mangeront des viandes impures chez les Assyriens.
They shall not dwell in the land of the Lord; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and in Assyria will they eat unclean things.
4 Ils n'ont point fait au Seigneur des libations de vin, et ils ne lui ont point été agréables. Leurs victimes sont pour eux comme des pains d'affliction; tous ceux qui en mangent seront souillés, parce que leurs pains, s'ils soutiennent la vie, n'entreront point dans la maison du Seigneur.
They shall not pour out wine to the Lord, and [their offerings] shall not be pleasing unto him; their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for this their food can only be for themselves, it shall not come into the house of the Lord.
5 Que ferez-vous les jours de réunions solennelles, et les jours de fête du Seigneur?
What will ye do on the day of the appointed festival, and on the day of the feast of the Lord?
6 À cause de cela, voilà qu'ils sortent des misères de l'Égypte, et Memphis les recevra, et Machmas les ensevelira. Quant à leur argent, la dévastation en héritera, et les ronces pousseront dans leurs demeures.
For, lo, they are gone forth because of the desolation: Egypt will gather them up, Moph will bury them: the pleasant chambers for their silver, —these shall nettles take possession of; thorns shall [grow] in their tents.
7 Ils sont venus les jours de la vengeance, ils sont venus les jours de rétribution, et Israël sera maltraité, comme un prophète en délire, comme un homme possédé par un malin esprit. Tes folies se sont multipliées à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités.
Come are the days of the visitation, come are the days of thy recompense; this shall Israel experience: a fool was the prophet, mad the inspired man, because of the greatness of thy iniquity, and the great hatefulness.
8 La sentinelle d'Éphraïm était avec Dieu; mais un faux prophète a été comme un lacs tortueux sur toutes ses voies, et ils ont transplanté leur folie dans la maison du Seigneur.
The watchman of Ephraim with my God, the prophet, was a snare of the fowler on all his ways, a hateful thing in the house of his god.
9 Ils se sont perdus comme aux jours de la colline; mais Dieu Se souviendra de leurs iniquités, et Il tirera vengeance de leurs crimes.
They are deeply corrupt, as in the days of Gib'ah: he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
10 J'ai aimé Israël comme une grappe de raisin dans le désert, et j'ai vu leurs pères comme un fruit mûr dans un figuier. pour eux, ils se sont approchés de Béelphégor, et dans leur opprobre ils se sont détournés de Moi, et ils Me sont devenus abominables autant qu'ils M'avaient été chers.
Like grapes in the wilderness had I found Israel; as the first ripe fruit on the fig-tree in the first of the season had I seen your fathers; but they too went to Ba'al-pe'or: and devoted themselves unto that shameful idol, and became abominations as those they loved.
11 Éphraïm s'est envolé comme l'oiseau, et, à peine nées, ses gloires se sont évanouies, ou pendant l'enfantement, ou aussitôt conçues;
As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird: there is no more birth, and no pregnancy, and no conception.
12 car, eût-il élevé ses enfants, il n'en sera pas moins sans postérité: malheur donc à lui, Ma chair n'est plus avec eux!
But though they were to bring up their children, yet would I bereave them, that there should be no man: yea, woe also to themselves, when I depart from them!
13 Éphraïm, Je l'ai vu, a fait une proie de ses enfants; Éphraïm a exposé ses fils à la mort.
Ephraim, as I have seen him like Tyre, planted in a pleasant meadow, —yet this Ephraim shall lead forth to the murderer his children.
14 Donne-leur, ô mon Dieu; mais que peux-Tu leur donner? Donne-leur un sein stérile et des mamelles taries.
Give them, O Lord, what thou wilt give! give them a miscarrying womb and dried-up breasts.
15 Toutes leurs méchancetés se font en Galata; c'est là que Je les ai pris en haine pour leurs inventions abominables. Je les chasserai de Ma maison, et Je ne les aimerai plus, car tous leurs princes sont indociles.
All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I [learnt to] hate them; for the wickedness of their doings will I drive them out of my house: I will love them no farther; all their princes are rebels.
16 Éphraïm s'est épuisé; il a desséché ses racines; il ne portera plus de fruits, et, dût-il en naître, Je ferai mourir les fruits désirés de leurs entrailles.
Smitten is Ephraim, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit; yea, though they should bring forth, yet would I slay the beloved fruit of their body.
17 Dieu les a repoussés parce qu'ils ne Lui ont point obéi, et ils seront errants parmi les nations.
My God will reject them, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
