Psaumes 75
1 Au chef des chantres. Al tachhêt. Psaume d’Assaph. Cantique. Nous te rendons grâce, ô Dieu, nous te rendons grâce, ton nom est près de nous; qu’on proclame tes merveilles!
“To the chief musician, Al-tashcheth, a psalm or song of Asaph.” We give thanks unto thee, O God, we give thanks, and nigh is thy name: men relate thy wondrous deeds.
2 "Quand, dit Dieu, j’en aurai fixé l’heure, je rendrai mes arrêts avec équité.
“For I will take up a fixed time when I will judge uprightly.
3 Que la terre en soit alarmée avec ses habitants, moi, je raffermirai ses colonnes." (Sélah)
The earth and all her inhabitants are melting away: I myself establish firmly her pillars.” (Selah)
4 Je dis aux insensés: "Trêve de folies!" Aux méchants: "Ne relevez point la tête!"
I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn.
5 Ne relevez pas si haut la tête, ne vous rengorgez pas pour parler avec insolence;
Lift not up on high your horn, speak not with a stiffly erect neck.
6 car ni de l’orient, ni du couchant, ni du désert ne vient la grandeur.
For neither from the rising [of the sun], nor from [his] setting, nor from the wilderness of mountains [cometh this];
7 C’Est Dieu qui est l’arbitre: il abaisse l’un, il élève l’autre.
But God is the judge: he lowereth one, and lifteth up another,
8 Car l’Eternel tient une coupe en sa main, où écume un vin tout mêlé d’aromates; de ce vin il verse des rasades, mais la lie, ce sont tous les méchants de la terre qui l’aspirent et la boivent.
For there is a cup in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foameth, it is full of mixture: and he poureth out of the same; but its lees they drain, they drink—all the wicked of the earth.
9 Pour moi, je le proclamerai sans trêve, je chanterai le Dieu de Jacob.
But I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 J’Abattrai toutes les cornes des méchants; les cornes des justes se dresseront bien haut.
And all the horns of the wicked will I hew off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
