Psaumes 29

1 Psaume de David. Célébrez l’Eternel, ô fils de Dieu! Célébrez sa gloire et sa puissance.

Give unto the LORD, O all of you mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

2 Rendez hommage au nom glorieux de l’Eternel, adorez l’Eternel dans son superbe sanctuaire.

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

3 La voix de l’Eternel retentit sur les eaux, le Dieu de gloire tonne, l’Eternel, sur les grandes eaux.

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders: the LORD is upon many waters.

4 La voix de l’Eternel éclate avec force, la voix de l’Eternel, avec majesté.

The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

5 La voix de l’Eternel brise les cèdres, c’est l’Eternel qui met en pièces les cèdres du Liban,

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; yea, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

6 qui les fait bondir comme de jeunes taureaux, le Liban et le Sirion comme de jeunes buffles.

He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn (ox).

7 La voix de l’Eternel fait jaillir des flammes ardentes;

The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

8 la voix de l’Eternel fait trembler le désert, l’Eternel fait trembler le désert de Kadêch.

The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

9 La voix de l’Eternel fait enfanter les biches, elle dépouille les forêts; dans son palais tous de s’écrier: "Gloire!"

The voice of the LORD makes the hinds to calve, and discovers the forests: and in his temple does every one speak of his glory.

10 L’Eternel trônait lors du déluge; ainsi l’Eternel trône en roi pour l’éternité.

The LORD sits upon the flood; yea, the LORD sits King for ever.

11 Que l’Eternel donne la force à son peuple! Que l’Eternel bénisse son peuple par la paix!

The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
