Lévitique 18
1 L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, Speke thou to the sones of Israel,
2 "Parle aux enfants d’Israël et dis-leur: c’est moi, l’Éternel, qui suis votre Dieu!
and thou schalt seie to hem, Y am youre Lord God;
3 Les pratiques du pays d’Egypte, où vous avez demeuré, ne les imitez pas, les pratiques du pays de Canaan où je vous conduis, ne les imitez pas et ne vous conformez point à leurs lois.
ye schulen not do by the custom of the lond of Egipt, in which ye dwelliden; ye schulen not do bi the custom of the cuntrei of Canaan, `to which Y schal brynge you yn, nethir ye schulen go in the lawful thingis of hem.
4 C’Est à mes statuts que vous devez obéir, ce sont mes lois que vous respecterez dans votre conduite: c’est moi, l’Éternel, qui suis votre Dieu.
Ye schulen do my domes, and ye schulen kepe myn heestis, and ye schulen go in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
5 Vous observerez donc mes lois et mes statuts, parce que l’homme qui les pratique obtient, par eux, la vie: je suis l’Éternel.
Kepe ye my lawis and domes, whiche a man `schal do, and schal lyue in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
6 Que nul de vous n’approche d’aucune proche parente, pour en découvrir la nudité: je suis l’Éternel.
Ech man schal not neiy to the nyy womman of his blood, that he schewe `the filthe of hir; Y am the Lord.
7 Ne découvre point la nudité de ton père, celle de ta mère: c’est ta mère, tu ne dois pas découvrir sa nudité.
Thou schalt not diskyuere the filthe of thi fadir and the filthe of thi modir; sche is thi modir, thou schalt not schewe hir filthe.
8 Ne découvre point la nudité de la femme de ton père: c’est la nudité de ton père.
Thou schalt not vnhile the filthe of the wijf of thi fadir, for it is the filthe of thi fadir.
9 La nudité de ta sœur, fille de ton père ou fille de ta mère, née dans la maison ou née au dehors, ne la découvre point.
Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sistir, of fadir `ether of modir, which sister is gendrid at hoome ether without forth.
10 La nudité de la fille de ton fils, ou de la fille de ta fille, ne la découvre point; car c’est ta propre nudité.
Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of thi sone, ether of neece of thi douyter, for it is thi filthe.
11 La fille de la femme de ton père, progéniture de ton père, celle-là est ta sœur: ne découvre point sa nudité.
Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of the wijf of thi fadir, which sche childide to thi fadir, and is thi sistir.
12 Ne découvre point la nudité de la sœur de ton père: c’est la proche parente de ton père.
Thou schalt not opene the filthe of the `sister of thi fadir, for sche is the fleisch of thi fadir.
13 Ne découvre point la nudité de la sœur de ta mère, car c’est la proche parente de ta mère.
Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the sistir of thi modir, for sche is the fleisch of thi modir.
14 Ne découvre point la nudité du frère de ton père: n’approche point de sa femme, elle est ta tante.
Thou schalt not shewe the filthe of the brothir of thi fadir, nethir thou schalt neiye to his wijf, which is ioyned to thee bi affinyte.
15 Ne découvre point la nudité de ta bru: c’est la femme de ton fils, tu ne dols pas découvrir sa nudité.
Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sones wijf, for sche is the wijf of thi sone, nether thou schalt diskiuere hir schenschip; and no man take his brotheris wijf.
16 Ne découvre point la nudité de la femme de ton frère: c’est la nudité de ton frère.
Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of `the wijf of thi brother, for it is the filthe of thi brothir.
17 Ne découvre point la nudité d’une femme et celle de sa fille; n’épouse point la fille de son fils ni la fille de sa fille, pour en découvrir la nudité: elles sont proches parentes, c’est une Impudicité.
Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi wijf, and of hir douyter; thou schalt not take the douytir of hir sone, and the douytir of hir douyter, that thou schewe hir schenschip; thei ben the fleisch of hir, and siche letcherie is incest.
18 N’Épouse pas une femme avec sa sœur: c’est créer une rivalité, en découvrant la nudité de l’une avec celle de l’autre, de son vivant.
Thou schalt not take `the sister of thi wijf, in to concubynage of hir, nethir thou schalt schewe `the filthe of hir, while thi wijf lyueth yit.
19 Lorsqu’une femme est 'isolée par son impureté, n’approche point d’elle pour découvrir sa nudité.
Thou schalt not neiye to a womman that suffrith rennyng of blood of monethe, nethir thou schalt schewe hir filthe.
20 Ne t’unis point charnellement avec la femme de ton prochain: tu te souillerais par elle.
Thou schalt not do letcherie with `the wijf of thi neiybore, nether thou schalt be defoulid with medlyng of seed.
21 Ne livre rien de ta progéniture en offrande à Molokh, pour ne pas profaner le nom de ton Dieu: je suis l’Éternel.
Thou schalt not yyue of thi seed, that it be offrid to the idol Moloch, nether thou schalt defoule the name of thi God; Y am the Lord.
22 Ne cohabite point avec un mâle, d’une cohabitation sexuelle: c’est une abomination.
Thou schalt not be medlid with a man bi letcherie of womman, for it is abhomynacioun.
23 Ne t’accouple avec aucun animal, tu te souillerais par là; et qu’une femme ne s’offre point à l’accouplement d’un animal, c’est un désordre.
Thou schalt not do letcherie with ony beeste, nethir thou schalt be defoulid with it. A womman schal not ligge vnder a beeste, nether schal be medlid therwith, for it is greet synne.
24 Ne vous souillez point par toutes ces choses! Car ils se sont souillés par elles, les peuples que je chasse à cause de vous,
Be ye not defoulid in alle these thingis, in whiche alle `folkis, ether hethen men, ben defoulid, whiche folkis Y schal caste out bifor youre siyt,
25 et le pays est devenu Impur, et je lui ai demandé compte de son iniquité, et le pays a vomi ses habitants.
of whiche the lond is defoulid, of which lond Y schal vysyte the grete synnes, that it spewe out hise dwellers.
26 Pour vous, respectez mes lois et mes statuts, et ne commettez aucune de ces horreurs. Vous indigènes, ni l’étranger qui séjournerait parmi vous.
Kepe ye my lawful thingis and domes, that ye do not of alle these abhomynaciouns, as wel a man borun in the lond as a comelyng which is a pilgrym at you.
27 Car toutes ces horreurs, ils les ont commises, les gens du pays qui vous ont précédés, et le pays est devenu Impur.
For the dwellers of the lond, that weren bifor you, diden alle these abhomynaciouns, and defouliden that lond.
28 Craignez que cette terre ne vous vomisse si vous la souillez, comme elle a vomi le peuple qui l’habitait avant vous.
Therfor be ye war, lest it caste out viliche also you in lijk manere, whanne ye han do lijk synnes, as it castide out vileche the folk, that was bifor you.
29 Car, quiconque aura commis une de toutes ces abominations, les personnes agissant ainsi seront retranchées du sein de leur peuple.
Ech man that doith ony thing of these abhomynaciouns, schal perische fro the myddis of his puple.
30 Soyez donc fidèles à mon observance, en ne suivant aucune de ces lois infâmes qu’on a suivies avant vous, et ne vous souillez point par leur pratique: je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu!"
Kepe ye myn heestis; nyle ye do tho thingis, whiche thei that weren bifor you diden, and be ye not defoulid in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
