Isaïe 65
1 J’Ai été accueillant pour qui n’avait pas demandé après moi, d’un abord facile pour qui ne m’avait point recherché; j’ai dit: "Me voici, me voici!" à un peuple qui ne Se réclamait plus de mon nom.
I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
2 Constamment j’ai tendu les mains à une nation infidèle, qui s’est engagée dans une mauvaise voie, au gré de ses idées;
I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walks in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
3 à une nation qui n’a cessé de m’irriter en me bravant, en sacrifiant dans les jardins et brûlant de l’encens sur les briques;
A people that provokes me to anger continually to my face; that sacrifices in gardens, and burns incense upon altars of brick;
4 qui a élu domicile parmi les tombeaux, établi son gîte dans les ruines, se nourrissant de chair de porc et de plats couverts de mets impurs;
Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
5 où les gens disent: "Retire-toi, ne me touche point, car je suis saint pour toi!" Ces pratiques attisent ma colère; c’est un feu qui flambe toujours.
Which say, Stand by yourself, come not near to me; for I am holier than you. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.
6 Certes, tout cela est inscrit devant moi; je n’aurai de cesse que je ne les aie payés, payés en faisant retomber sur leur tête
Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,
7 tout ensemble leurs péchés et les péchés de leurs ancêtres, dit l’Eternel qui ont offert de l’encens sur les montagnes et m’ont outragé sur les coteaux. Je ferai bonne mesure en chargeant leur tête du fruit de leurs œuvres passées.
Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, says the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.
8 Ainsi parle l’Eternel: "Tout comme lorsqu’on trouve une grappe pleine de jus, on dit: Ne la détruis point, car c’est un fruit béni ainsi je me comporterai par égard pour mes serviteurs et n’aurai garde de tout détruire.
Thus says the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
9 Mais j’extrairai de Jacob une lignée, et de Juda des possesseurs de mes montagnes: mes élus en auront la propriété, et mes serviteurs y résideront.
And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
10 Le Saron deviendra un parc pour les brebis, et la vallée d’Akhor un gîte pour les bœufs, au profit de ceux de mon peuple qui m’auront recherché.
And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.
11 Mais vous qui délaissez le Seigneur, oublieux de ma sainte montagne, vous qui dressez une table pour Gad et remplissez plein les coupes en l’honneur de Meni,
But all of you are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
12 vous, je vous destine au glaive; tant que vous êtes, vous ploierez le genou pour recevoir le coup mortel, puisque j’ai appelé et que vous n’avez pas répondu, puisque vous avez fait ce qui me déplaît et donné votre préférence à ce que je n’aime point."
Therefore will I number you to the sword, and all of you shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, all of you did not answer; when I spoke, all of you did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
13 C’Est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel: "Voici, mes serviteurs mangeront et vous souffrirez la faim; voici, mes serviteurs boiront et vous aurez soif; voici, mes serviteurs se réjouiront et vous serez couverts de confusion;
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but all of you shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but all of you shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but all of you shall be ashamed:
14 voici, mes serviteurs chanteront dans le contentement de leur cœur, et vous crierez sous les souffrances du vôtre, vous vous lamenterez dans l’abattement de votre esprit.
Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but all of you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall wail for vexation of spirit.
15 Et vous laisserez votre nom comme une formule d’imprécation à mes élus: "Que Dieu te fasse périr…! Mais ses serviteurs, il les désignera par un nom bien différent.
And all of you shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay you, and call his servants by another name:
16 Car celui qui voudra faire des souhaits de bonheur dans le pays les fera au nom du Dieu de vérité, et celui qui jurera dans le pays jurera au nom du Dieu de vérité; en effet, les souffrances antérieures seront oubliées et complètement effacées de devant mes yeux.
That he who blesses himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
17 Oui! Me voici en train de créer un ciel nouveau et une terre nouvelle, si bien qu’on ne se rappellera plus ce qui aura précédé; on n’en gardera pas le moindre souvenir.
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18 Réjouissez-vous, au contraire, et félicitez-vous à jamais de ce que je vais créer; car voici, je fais de Jérusalem un sujet d’allégresse, et de son peuple une source de joie.
But be all of you glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
19 Et moi-même je me réjouirai de Jérusalem et j’aurai du plaisir de mon peuple: on n’y entendra plus ni bruit de pleurs, ni cris de douleur.
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
20 On n’y verra plus d’enfant ne vivant que quelques jours, ni de vieillard qui n’achève sa carrière; car sera considéré comme jeune homme celui qui mourra à cent ans, et comme maudit le pécheur devenu centenaire.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that has not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 On bâtira des maisons et on les habitera; on plantera des vignes et on en mangera les fruits.
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
22 On ne bâtira pas pour qu’un autre en profite, on ne plantera pas pour qu’un autre en jouisse; mais les jours de mon peuple seront comme les jours des arbres, et mes élus useront jusqu’au bout l’œuvre de leurs mains.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 Ils ne se fatigueront plus en vain, et ils n’enfanteront plus pour la ruine: ce sera la race des bénis de l’Eternel, et leurs rejetons demeureront avec eux.
They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
24 Avant qu’ils m’appellent, moi, je répondrai; ils parleront encore que déjà je les aurai exaucés.
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25 Le loup et l’agneau paîtront côte à côte, le lion comme le bœuf mangera de la paille et le serpent se nourrira de poussière; plus de méfaits, plus de violence sur toute ma sainte montagne: c’est l’Eternel qui a parlé."
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says the LORD.
