Colossiens 2
1 Car je veux que vous sachiez quel combat j’ai pour vous et pour ceux qui sont à Laodicée, et tous ceux qui n’ont point vu mon visage en la chair,
For I want you to know how great a struggle I have about you, and those at Laodicea, and as many as have not seen my face in flesh.
2 afin que leurs cœurs soient consolés, étant unis ensemble dans l’amour et pour toutes les richesses de la pleine certitude d’intelligence, pour la connaissance du mystère de Dieu,
So that their hearts may be encouraged, having been united together in love, and for all wealth of the full assurance of understanding, to knowledge of the mystery of the God and Father of the Christ.
3 dans lequel sont cachés tous les trésors de la sagesse et de la connaissance.
In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 Or je dis ceci, afin que personne ne vous séduise par des discours spécieux;
And I say this so that not any man may delude you with persuasive speech.
5 car lors même que je suis absent de corps, toutefois je suis avec vous en esprit, me réjouissant et voyant votre ordre, et la fermeté de votre foi en Christ.
For even though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your orderliness, and the steadfastness of your faith for Christ.
6 Comme donc vous avez reçu le christ Jésus, le Seigneur, marchez en lui,
As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him,
7 enracinés et édifiés en lui, et affermis dans la foi, selon que vous avez été enseignés, abondant en elle avec des actions de grâces.
rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as ye were taught, abounding in it with thankfulness.
8 Prenez garde que personne ne fasse de vous sa proie par la philosophie et par de vaines déceptions, selon l’enseignement des hommes, selon les éléments du monde, et non selon Christ;
Take heed lest there will be any man taking you captive through the love of wisdom and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not according to Christ.
9 car en lui habite toute la plénitude de la déité corporellement;
Because in him all the fullness of the divinity dwells bodily.
10 et vous êtes accomplis en lui, qui est le chef de toute principauté et autorité,
And ye are men who have been made full in him, who is the head of every principal office and position of authority.
11 en qui aussi vous avez été circoncis d’une circoncision qui n’a pas été faite de main, dans le dépouillement du corps de la chair par la circoncision du Christ,
In whom also ye were circumcised a circumcision not made with hands, in the removal of the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of the Christ.
12 étant ensevelis avec lui dans le baptême, dans lequel aussi vous avez été ressuscités ensemble par la foi en l’opération de Dieu qui l’a ressuscité d’entre les morts.
Having been buried with him in immersion, in which also ye were raised together through faith of the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13 Et vous, lorsque vous étiez morts dans vos fautes et dans l’incirconcision de votre chair, il vous a vivifiés ensemble avec lui, nous ayant pardonné toutes nos fautes,
And you, being dead in transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you he made alive together with him, having forgiven us all the transgressions,
14 ayant effacé l’obligation qui était contre nous, [laquelle consistait] en ordonnances [et] qui nous était contraire, et il l’a ôtée en la clouant à la croix:
having erased the handwriting against us in the regulations that were hostile to us, and he has taken it up from the midst, having nailed it to the cross.
15 ayant dépouillé les principautés et les autorités, il les a produites en public, triomphant d’elles en la [croix].
Having stripped the principal offices and the positions of authority, he exposed them openly, having triumphed over them by it.
16 Que personne donc ne vous juge en ce qui concerne le manger ou le boire, ou à propos d’un jour de fête ou de nouvelle lune, ou de sabbats,
Let not any man therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or in the matter of a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,
17 qui sont une ombre des choses à venir; mais le corps est du Christ.
which are a shadow of the things coming, but the body is Christ's.
18 Que personne ne vous frustre du prix [du combat], faisant sa volonté propre dans [l’]humilité et dans [le] culte des anges, s’ingérant dans les choses qu’il n’a pas vues, enflé d’un vain orgueil par les pensées de sa chair,
Let no man umpire against you insisting on self-mortification, and worship of the agents, intruding in things that he has not seen, vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh,
19 et ne tenant pas ferme le chef, duquel tout le corps, alimenté et bien uni ensemble par des jointures et des liens, croît de l’accroissement de Dieu.
and not holding to the head, from whom all the body, being supplied and held together through the connections and bonds, develops its growth from God.
20 Si vous êtes morts avec Christ aux éléments du monde, pourquoi, comme si vous étiez encore en vie dans le monde, établissez-vous des ordonnances,
If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why do ye submit to rules, as though living in the world?
21 – ne prends pas, ne goûte pas, ne touche pas!
Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch
22 – (choses qui sont toutes destinées à périr par l’usage, ) selon les commandements et les enseignements des hommes
(which are all things for consumption by use), according to the commandments and teachings of men?
23 (qui ont bien une apparence de sagesse en dévotion volontaire et en humilité, et en ce qu’elles n’épargnent pas le corps, ne [lui] rendant pas un certain honneur), pour la satisfaction de la chair?
Which having, are indeed a matter of wisdom in will-worship, and self-mortification, and austerity of the body-not in any value against indulgence of the flesh.
