1 Chroniques 29

1 Et le roi David dit à toute la congrégation: Salomon, mon fils, le seul que Dieu ait choisi, est jeune et délicat, et l’ouvrage est grand, car ce palais n’est point pour un homme, mais pour l’Éternel Dieu.

And kyng Dauid spak to al the chirche, God hath chose Salomon, my sone, yit a child and tendre; forsothe the werk is greet, and a dwellyng is not maad redi to man but to God.

2 Et moi, de toute ma force, j’ai préparé, pour la maison de mon Dieu, de l’or pour [ce qui doit être] d’or, et de l’argent pour [ce qui doit être] d’argent, et de l’airain pour [ce qui doit être] d’airain, du fer pour [ce qui doit être] de fer, et du bois pour [ce qui doit être] de bois, des pierres d’onyx et [des pierres] à enchâsser, des pierres brillantes et [des pierres] de diverses couleurs, et toutes sortes de pierres précieuses, et du marbre blanc en abondance.

Sotheli Y in alle my myytis haue maad redi the costis of the hows of my God; gold to goldun vessels, siluer in to siluerne vessels, bras in to brasun vessels, irun in to irun vessels, tre in to trenun vessels, onychyn stonys, and stonys as of the colour of wymmens oynement, and ech precious stoon of dyuerse colouris, and marbil of dyuerse colouris, most plenteuously.

3 Et de plus, dans mon affection pour la maison de mon Dieu, je donne pour la maison de mon Dieu, de ce que j’ai d’or et d’argent m’appartenant en propre, – outre tout ce que j’ai préparé pour la maison du sanctuaire

And ouer these thingis Y yyue gold and siluer in to the temple of my God, whiche Y offride of my propir catel in to the hows of my God, outakun these thingis whiche Y made redi in to the hooli hows,

4 – 3 000 talents d’or, d’or d’Ophir, et 7 000 talents d’argent épuré, pour revêtir les murs des maisons;

thre thousynde talentis of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seuene thousynde of talentis of siluer most preuyd, to ouergilde the wallis of the temple;

5 de l’or, pour [les choses] d’or, et de l’argent, pour [les choses] d’argent, et pour tout l’ouvrage [qui se fait] par main d’ouvrier. Et qui sera de franche volonté pour offrir aujourd’hui à l’Éternel?

and werkis be maad bi the hondis of crafti men, where euere gold is nedeful, of gold, and where euere siluer is nedeful, of siluer; and if ony man offrith bi his fre wille, fille he his hond to dai, and offre he that that he wole to the Lord.

6 Et les chefs des pères, et les chefs des tribus d’Israël, et les chefs des milliers et des centaines, et les chefs des affaires du roi, offrirent volontairement,

Therfor the princes of meynees, and the duykis of the lynagis of Israel, and the tribunes, and the centuriouns, and the princes of the possessiouns of the kyng, bihiyten;

7 et donnèrent, pour le service de la maison de Dieu, 5 000 talents d’or, et 10 000 dariques, et 10 000 talents d’argent, et 18 000 talents d’airain, et 100 000 talents de fer.

and thei yauen in to the werkis of the hows of the Lord, fyue thousynde talentis of gold, and ten thousynde schyllyngis; ten thousynde talentis of siluer, and eiytene thousynde talentis of bras, and an hundrid thousynde of talentis of irun.

8 Et ceux chez qui se trouvaient des pierres [précieuses] les donnèrent au trésor de la maison de l’Éternel, entre les mains de Jekhiel, le Guershonite.

And at whom euere stoonys were foundun, thei yauen in to the tresour of the hows of the Lord, bi the hond of Jehiel Gersonyte.

9 Et le peuple se réjouit de ce qu’ils avaient offert volontairement, car ils offraient volontairement, d’un cœur parfait, à l’Éternel; et aussi le roi David en eut une grande joie.

And the puple was glad, whanne thei bihiyten avowis bi her fre wille, for with al the herte thei offriden tho to the Lord. But also kyng Dauid was glad with greet ioye, and blesside the Lord bifor al the multitude,

10 Et David bénit l’Éternel aux yeux de toute la congrégation, et David dit: Béni sois-tu, Éternel, Dieu d’Israël notre père, de tout temps et à toujours!

and seide, Lord God of Israel, oure fadir, thou art blessid fro with outen bigynnyng in to with outen ende;

11 À toi, Éternel, est la grandeur, et la force, et la gloire, et la splendeur, et la majesté; car tout, dans les cieux et sur la terre, [est à toi]. À toi, Éternel, est le royaume et l’élévation, comme Chef sur toutes choses;

Lord, worthi doyng is thin, and power, and glorie, and victorie, and heriyng is to thee; for alle thingis that ben in heuene and in erthe ben thine; Lord, the rewme is thin, and thou art ouer alle princes; ritchessis ben thin, and glorie is thin;

12 et les richesses et la gloire viennent de toi, et tu domines sur toutes choses; et la puissance et la force sont en ta main, et il est en ta main d’agrandir et d’affermir toutes choses.

thou art Lord of alle; in thin hond is vertu, and power, and in thin hond is greetnesse, and lordschipe of alle.

13 Et maintenant, ô notre Dieu, nous te célébrons, et nous louons ton nom glorieux.

Now therfor, oure God, we knoulechen to thee, and we herien thi noble name.

14 Et qui suis-je, et qui est mon peuple, que nous ayons le pouvoir d’offrir ainsi volontairement? car tout vient de toi; et ce qui vient de ta main, nous te le donnons.

Who am Y, and who is my puple, that we moun bihete alle these thingis to thee? Alle thingis ben thine, and we han youe to thee tho thingis, whiche we token of thin hond.

15 Car nous sommes étrangers devant toi, et des hôtes, comme tous nos pères; nos jours sont comme l’ombre, sur la terre, et il n’y a pas d’espérance [de demeurer ici-bas].

For we ben pilgrimes and comelyngis bifor thee, as alle oure fadris; oure daies ben as schadewe on the erthe, and `no dwellyng is.

16 Éternel, notre Dieu, toute cette abondance que nous avons préparée afin de te bâtir une maison pour ton saint nom, est de ta main, et tout est à toi.

Oure Lord God, al this plentee which we han maad redi, that an hows schulde be byldid to thin hooli name, is of thin hond; and alle thingis ben thin.

17 Et je sais, ô mon Dieu, que tu sondes le cœur, et que tu prends plaisir à la droiture: moi, dans la droiture de mon cœur, j’ai offert volontairement toutes ces choses; et maintenant, j’ai vu avec joie que ton peuple qui se trouve ici t’a offert volontairement.

My God, Y woot, that thou preuest hertis, and louest symplenesse of herte; wherfor and Y, in the symplenesse of myn herte, haue offrid gladli alle these thingis; and Y siy with greet ioye thi puple, which is foundun here, offre yiftis to thee.

18 Éternel, Dieu d’Abraham, d’Isaac, et d’Israël, nos pères, garde ceci à toujours dans l’imagination des pensées du cœur de ton peuple, et dirige leurs cœurs vers toi.

Lord God of Abraham, and of Ysaac, and of Israel, oure fadris, kepe thou with outen ende this wille of her hertis; and this mynde dwelle euere in to the worschipyng of thee.

19 Et donne à mon fils Salomon un cœur parfait, pour garder tes commandements, tes témoignages et tes statuts, et pour tout faire, et pour bâtir le palais que j’ai préparé.

Also yyue thou to Salomon, my sone, a perfit herte, that he kepe thin heestis, and witnessyngis, and thi ceremonyes; and do alle thingis, and that he bilde the hows, whose costis Y haue maad redi.

20 Et David dit à toute la congrégation: Bénissez l’Éternel, votre Dieu. Et toute la congrégation bénit l’Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères; et ils s’inclinèrent, et se prosternèrent devant l’Éternel et devant le roi.

Forsothe Dauid comaundide to al the chirche, Blesse ye `oure Lord God. And al the chirche blesside the Lord God of her fadris, and thei bowiden hem silf, and worschipiden God, aftirward the kyng.

21 Et, le lendemain de ce jour, ils sacrifièrent des sacrifices à l’Éternel, et offrirent des holocaustes à l’Éternel: 1 000 taureaux, 1 000 béliers, 1 000 agneaux, et leurs libations; et des sacrifices en abondance pour tout Israël.

And thei offriden slayn sacrifices to the Lord, and thei offriden brent sacrifices in the dai suynge; a thousynde boolis, and a thousynde rammes, and a thousynde lambren, with her fletynge sacrifices, and al the custom, most plenteuously, in to al Israel.

22 Et ils mangèrent et burent devant l’Éternel ce jour-là, avec une grande joie; et pour la seconde fois ils établirent roi Salomon, fils de David, et l’oignirent pour l’Éternel comme prince, et Tsadok comme sacrificateur.

And thei eten and drunken bifor the Lord in that dai, with greet gladnesse. And thei anoyntiden the secounde tyme Salomon, the sone of Dauid; and thei anoyntiden hym in to prince to the Lord, and Sadoch in to bischop.

23 Et Salomon s’assit sur le trône de l’Éternel, comme roi à la place de David, son père, et il prospéra; et tout Israël lui obéit.

And Salomon sat on the trone of the Lord in to kyng, for Dauid, his fadir; and it pleside alle men, and al Israel obeiede to hym.

24 Et tous les chefs et les hommes forts, et aussi tous les fils du roi David, se soumirent au roi Salomon.

But also alle princes, and myyti men, and alle the sones of kyng Dauid, yauen hond, and weren suget to `Salomon the kyng.

25 Et l’Éternel agrandit Salomon à un très haut degré aux yeux de tout Israël, et lui donna une majesté royale telle qu’aucun roi avant lui n’en avait eu en Israël.

Therfor the Lord magnefiede Salomon on al Israel, and yaue to hym glorie of the rewme, what maner glorie no kyng of Israel hadde bifor hym.

26 Et David, fils d’Isaï, régna sur tout Israël.

Therfor Dauid, the sone of Ysai, regnede on al Israel;

27 Et les jours qu’il régna sur Israël furent 40 ans: à Hébron, il régna sept ans; et, à Jérusalem, il régna 33 [ans].

and the daies in whiche he regnede on Israel weren fourti yeer; in Ebron he regnede seuene yeer, and in Jerusalem thre and thretti yeer.

28 Et il mourut en bonne vieillesse, rassasié de jours, de richesses, et de gloire; et Salomon, son fils, régna à sa place.

And he diede in good eelde, and was ful of daies, and richessis, and glorie; and Salomon, his sone, regnede for hym.

29 Et les actes du roi David, les premiers et les derniers, voici, ils sont écrits dans le livre de Samuel, le voyant, et dans le livre de Nathan, le prophète, et dans le livre de Gad, le voyant,

Forsothe the formere and the laste dedis of Dauid ben writun in the book of Samuel, the prophete, and in the book of Nathan, prophete, and in the book of Gad, the prophete;

30 avec tout son règne et sa puissance, et les temps qui passèrent sur lui, et sur Israël, et sur tous les royaumes des pays.

and of al his rewme, and strengthe, and tymes, that passiden vndur hym, ethir in Israel, ethir in alle rewmes of londis.
