Romains 1
1 Paul, serviteur du Christ-Jésus, apôtre par son appel, mis à part pour annoncer l'Evangile de Dieu,
Paul the seruaut of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle put a parte to preache the Gospell of God
2 Evangile que Dieu avait promis auparavant par ses prophètes dans les saintes Ecritures,
which he promysed afore by his Prophetes in the holy scriptures
3 touchant son Fils (né de la postérité de David selon la chair,
that make mension of his sonne the which was begotte of the seed of David as pertayninge to the flesshe:
4 et déclaré Fils de Dieu miraculeusement, selon l'Esprit de sainteté, par une résurrection d'entre les morts), Jésus-Christ Notre-Seigneur,
and declared to be the sonne of God with power of the holy goost that sanctifieth sence ye tyme that Iesus Christ oure Lorde rose agayne from deeth
5 par qui nous avons reçu la grâce et l'apostolat, pour amener en son nom à l'obéissance de la foi tous les Gentils,
by whom we have receaved grace and apostleshyppe to bringe all maner hethe people vnto obedience of the fayth that is in his name:
6 du nombre desquels vous êtes, vous aussi, par appel de Jésus-Christ, —
of the which hethen are ye a part also which are Iesus christes by vocacio.
7 à tous les bien-aimés de Dieu, les saints appelés par lui, qui sont à Rome: grâce et paix à vous de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ!
To all you of Rome beloved of God and saynctes by callinge. Grace be with you and peace from God oure father and from the Lorde Iesus Christ.
8 Et d'abord je rends grâce à mon Dieu, par Jésus-Christ, au sujet de vous tous, de ce que votre foi est renommée dans le monde entier.
Fyrst verely I thanke my God thorow Iesus Christ for you all because youre fayth is publisshed through out all the worlde.
9 Dieu m'en est témoin, ce Dieu que je sers en mon esprit par la prédication de l'Evangile de son Fils, sans cesse je fais mémoire de vous,
For God is my witnes whom I serve with my sprete in the Gospell of his sonne that with out ceasinge I make mencion of you alwayes in my prayers
10 demandant continuellement dans mes prières d'avoir enfin, par sa volonté, quelque heureuse occasion de me rendre auprès de vous.
besechinge that at one tyme or another a prosperous iorney (by ye will of god) myght fortune me to come vnto you.
11 Car j'ai un grand désir de vous voir, pour vous communiquer quelque don spirituel, capable de vous affermir,
For I longe to see you that I myght bestowe amoge you some spirituall gyfte to strength you with all:
12 je veux dire, de nous encourager ensemble au milieu de vous par la foi qui nous est commune, à vous et à moi.
that is that I myght have consolacion together with you through the commen fayth which bothe ye and I have.
13 Je ne veux pas vous laisser ignorer, frères, que je me suis souvent proposé d'aller vous voir, — mais j'en ai été empêché jusqu'ici, — afin de recueillir aussi quelques fruits parmi vous, comme parmi les autres nations.
I wolde that ye shuld knowe brethre how that I have often tymes purposed to come vnto you (but have bene let hitherto) to have some frute amonge you as I have amonge other of ye Gentyls.
14 Je me dois aux Grecs et aux Barbares, aux savants et aux ignorants.
For I am detter both to the Grekes and to them which are no Grekes vnto the learned and also vnto the vnlearned.
15 Ainsi, autant qu'il est en moi, je suis prêt à vous annoncer aussi l'Evangile, à vous qui êtes à Rome.
Lykewyse as moche as in me is I am redy to preache the Gospell to you of Rome also.
16 Car je n'ai point honte de l'Evangile; c'est une force divine pour le salut de tout homme qui croit, premièrement du Juif, puis du Grec.
For I am not ashamed of the Gospell of Christ because it is ye power of God vnto salvacio to all yt beleve namely to the Iewe and also to ye getyle.
17 En effet, en lui est révélée une justice de Dieu qui vient de la foi et est destinée à la foi, selon qu'il est écrit: " Le juste vivra par la foi. "
For by it ye rightewesnes which cometh of god is opened fro fayth to fayth. As it is written: The iust shall live by fayth.
18 En effet, la colère de Dieu éclate du haut du ciel contre toute impiété et toute injustice des hommes, qui, par leur injustice, retiennent la vérité captive;
For the wrath of God apereth from heven agaynst all vngodlynes and vnrightewesnes of me which withholde ye trueth in vnrightewesnes
19 car ce qui se peut connaître de Dieu, est manifeste parmi eux: Dieu le leur a manifesté.
seynge what maye be knowen of God that same is manifest amoge them. For God dyd shewe it vnto them.
20 En effet ses perfections invisibles, son éternelle puissance et sa divinité sont, depuis la création du monde, rendues visibles à l'intelligence par le moyen de ses œuvres. Ils sont donc inexcusables, (aïdios g126)
So that his invisible thinges: that is to saye his eternall power and godhed are vnderstonde and sene by the workes from the creacion of the worlde. So that they are without excuse (aïdios g126)
21 puisque, ayant connu Dieu, ils ne l'ont pas glorifié comme Dieu et ne lui ont pas rendu grâces; mais ils sont devenus vains dans leurs pensées, et leur cœur sans intelligence s'est enveloppé de ténèbres.
in as moche as when they knewe god they glorified him not as God nether were thakfull but wexed full of vanities in their imaginacions and their folisshe hertes were blynded.
22 Se vantant d'être sages, ils sont devenus fous;
When they couted them selves wyse they became foles
23 et ils ont échangé la majesté du Dieu incorruptible pour des images représentant l'homme corruptible, des oiseaux, des quadrupèdes et des reptiles.
and turned the glory of the immortall god vnto the similitude of the ymage of mortall man and of byrdes and foure foted beastes and of serpentes.
24 Aussi Dieu les a-t-il livrés, au milieu des convoitises de leurs cœurs, à l'impureté, en sorte qu'ils déshonorent entre eux leurs propres corps,
Wherfore god lykewyse gave the vp vnto their hertes lustes vnto vnclennes to defyle their awne boddyes bitwene them selves:
25 eux qui ont échangé le Dieu véritable pour le mensonge, et qui ont adoré et servi la créature de préférence au Créateur, (lequel est béni éternellement. Amen!) (aiōn g165)
which tourned his truthe vnto a lye and worshipped and served the creatures more then ye maker which is blessed for ever. Ame. (aiōn g165)
26 C'est pourquoi Dieu les a livrés à des passions d'ignominie: leurs femmes ont changé l'usage naturel en celui qui est contre nature;
For this cause god gave them vp vnto shamfull lustes. For even their wemen did chaunge the naturall vse vnto the vnnaturall.
27 de même aussi les hommes, au lieu d'user de la femme selon l'ordre de la nature, ont, dans leurs désirs, brûlé les uns pour les autres, ayant hommes avec hommes un commerce infâme, et recevant, dans une mutuelle dégradation, le juste salaire de leur égarement.
And lyke wyse also the men lefte the naturall vse of the woma and bret in their lustes one on another. And man with man wrought filthynes and receaved in them selves the rewarde of their erroure as it was accordinge.
28 Et comme ils ne se sont pas souciés de bien connaître Dieu, Dieu les a livrés à leur sens pervers pour faire ce qui ne convient pas,
And as it semed not good vnto them to be aknowen of God even so God delivered them vp vnto a leawde mynd yt they shuld do tho thinges which were not comly
29 étant remplis de toute espèce d'iniquité, de malice, [de fornication], de cupidité, de méchanceté, pleins d'envie, de pensées homicides, de querelle, de fraude, de malignité,
beinge full of all vnrighteous doinge of fornicacio wickednes coveteousnes maliciousnes full of envie morther debate disseyte evill codicioned whisperers
30 semeurs de faux bruits, calomniateurs, haïs de Dieu, arrogants, hautains, fanfarons, ingénieux au mal, rebelles à leurs parents,
backbyters haters of God doers of wroge proude bosters bringers vp of evyll thinges disobedient to father and mother
31 sans intelligence, sans loyauté, [implacables], sans affection, sans pitié.
with out vnderstondinge covenaunte breakers vnlovinge trucebreakers and merciles.
32 Et bien qu'ils connaissent le jugement de Dieu déclarant dignes de mort ceux qui commettent de telles choses, non seulement ils les font, mais encore ils approuvent ceux qui les font.
Which me though they knew the rightewesnes of God how that they which soche thinges commyt are worthy of deeth yet not only do the same but also have pleasure in them that do them.
