Apocalypse 2
1 Ecris à l'ange de l'Eglise d'Ephèse: Voici ce que dit Celui qui tient les sept étoiles dans sa main droite, Celui qui marche au milieu des sept chandeliers d'or:
Unto the messenger of the congregacion of Ephesus wryte: These thynges sayth he that holdeth the vii. starres in his right honde and walketh in the myddes of the vii. golden candlestyckes
2 Je connais tes œuvres, ton labeur et ta patience; je sais que tu ne peux supporter les méchants; que tu as éprouvé ceux qui se disent apôtres et ne le sont pas, et que tu les as trouvés menteurs;
I knowe thy workes and thy labour and thy pacience and howe thou cannest not forbeare the which are evyll: and examinedst them which saye they are Apostles and are not: and hast founde them lyars
3 que tu as de la patience, que tu as eu à supporter pour mon nom, et que tu ne t'es point lassé.
and dydest wasshe thy self. And hast pacience: and for my names sake hast labored and hast not faynted.
4 Mais j'ai contre toi que tu t'es relâché de ton premier amour.
Neverthelesse I have sumwhat agaynst the for thou haste lefte thy fyrst love.
5 Souviens-toi donc d'où tu es tombé, repens-toi et reviens à tes premières œuvres; sinon, je viendrai à toi, et j'ôterai ton chandelier de sa place, à moins que tu ne te repentes.
Remember therfore from whence thou art fallen and repent and do the fyrst workes. Or elles I wyll come vnto the shortly and will remove thy candlestyke out of his place excepte thou repent.
6 Pourtant tu as en ta faveur que tu hais les œuvres des Nicolaïtes, œuvres que moi aussi je hais.
But this thou haste because thou hatest ye dedes of the Nicolaitans which dedes I also hate.
7 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises! A celui qui vaincra, je lui donnerai à manger de l'arbre de vie, qui est dans le paradis de [mon] Dieu.
Lett him yt hath eares heare what ye sprete sayth vnto the congregacions. To him that overcometh will I geve to eate of the tree of lyfe which is in the myddes of ye paradice of god.
8 Ecris encore à l'ange de l'Eglise de Smyrne: Voici ce que dit le Premier et le Dernier, Celui qui était mort et qui a repris vie:
And vnto the angell of the congregacion of Smyrna wryte: These thynges sayth he that is fyrst and the laste which was deed and is alive.
9 Je connais ta tribulation et ta pauvreté, — mais tu es riche, — et les insultes de ceux qui se disent Juifs et ne le sont pas, mais bien une synagogue de Satan.
I knowe thy workes and tribulacion and poverte but thou art ryche: And I knowe the blaspemy of them whiche call them selves Iewes and are not: but are the congregacio of sathan.
10 Ne crains rien de ce que tu auras à souffrir. Voici que le diable va jeter quelques-uns de vous en prison, afin que vous soyez mis à l'épreuve, et vous aurez une tribulation de dix jours. Sois fidèle jusqu'à la mort et je te donnerai la couronne de la vie.
Feare none of thoo thynges which thou shalt soffre. Beholde the devyll shall caste of you into preson to tempte you and ye shall have tribulacion. x. dayes. Be faythfull vnto the deeth and I will geve the a croune of lyfe.
11 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises! Celui qui vaincra ne recevra aucun dommage de la seconde mort.
Let him that hath ears heare what the sprete sayth to the congregacions: He that overcometh shall not be hurte of the seconde deeth.
12 Ecris encore à l'ange de l'Eglise de Pergame: Voici ce que dit Celui qui a le glaive aigu à deux tranchants:
And to the messenger of the congregacion in Pergamos wryte: This sayth he which hath ye sharpe swearde with two edges.
13 Je sais où tu habites: là où se trouve le trône de Satan; mais tu es fermement attaché à mon nom, et tu n'as point renié ma foi, même en ces jours où Antipas, mon témoin fidèle, a été mis à mort chez vous, où Satan habite.
I knowe thy workes and where thow dwellest evyn where Sathans seat ys and thou kepest my name and hast not denyed my fayth. And in my dayes Antipas was a faythfull witnes of myne which was slayne amonge you where sathan dwelleth.
14 Mais j'ai contre toi quelques griefs; c'est que tu as là des gens attachés à la doctrine de Balaam, qui conseillait à Balac de mettre devant les fils d'Israël une pierre d'achoppement, pour les amener à manger des viandes immolées aux idoles et à se livrer à l'impudicité.
But I have a fewe thynges agaynst the: yt thou hast there they that mayntayne the doctryne of Balam which taught in balake to put occasion of syn before the chylderne of Israhell that they shulde eate of meate dedicat vnto ydoles and to commyt fornicacion.
15 De même toi aussi, tu as des gens attachés pareillement à la doctrine des Nicolaïtes.
Even so hast thou them that mayntayne the doctryne of the Nicolaytans which thynge I hate.
16 Repens-toi! sinon, je viendrai à toi promptement, et je leur ferai la guerre avec le glaive de ma bouche.
But be converted or elles I will come vnto the shortly and will fyght agaynste the with thes wearde of my mouth
17 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que dit l'Esprit aux Eglises! A celui qui vaincra, je donnerai de la manne cachée; et je lui donnerai une pierre blanche, et sur cette pierre est écrit un nom nouveau, que personne ne connaît, si ce n'est celui qui le reçoit.
Lett him that hath eares heare what the sprete sayth vnto the congregacios: To him that overcommeth will I geve to eate manna that is hyd and will geve him a whyte stone and in the stone a newe name wrytten which no ma knoweth savinge he that receaveth it.
18 Ecris encore à l'ange de l'Eglise de Thyatire: Voici ce que dit le Fils de Dieu, Celui qui a les yeux comme une flamme de feu, et dont les pieds sont semblables à l'airain:
And vnto the messenger of the congregacion of Theatira write: This sayth the sonne of god which hath his eyes lyke vnto a flame of fyre whose fete are like brasse:
19 Je connais tes œuvres, ton amour, ta foi, ta bienfaisance, ta patience et tes dernières œuvres plus nombreuses que les premières.
I knowe thy workes and thy love service and fayth and thy paciece and thy dedes which are mo at the last then at the fyrste.
20 Mais j'ai contre toi quelques griefs: c'est que tu laisses la femme Jézabel, se disant prophétesse, enseigner et séduire mes serviteurs, pour qu'ils se livrent à l'impudicité et mangent des viandes immolées aux idoles.
Notwitstondinge I have a feawe thynges agaynst the that thou sofferest that woman Iesabell which called her sylfe a prophetes to teache and to deceave my servauntes to make them commyt fornicacion and to eate meates offered vppe vnto ydoles.
21 Je lui ai donné du temps pour faire pénitence, et elle ne veut pas se repentir de son impudicité.
And I gave her space to repent of her fornicacion and she repented not.
22 Voici que je vais la jeter sur un lit, et plonger dans une grande tristesse ses compagnons d'adultère, s'ils ne se repentent des œuvres qu'elle leur a enseignées.
Beholde I will caste her into a beed and them yt commyt fornicacion wt her into gret adversite excepte they tourne fro their deades.
23 Je frapperai de mort ses enfants, et toutes les Eglises connaîtront que je suis celui qui sonde les reins et les cœurs; et je rendrai à chacun de vous selon vos œuvres.
And I will kyll her children with deeth. And all the congregacions shall knowe that I am he which searcheth ye reynes and hertes. And I will geve vnto evere one of you accordynge vnto youre workes.
24 Mais à vous, aux autres fidèles de Thyatire, qui ne reçoivent pas cette doctrine, qui n'ont pas connu les profondeurs de Satan (comme ils les appellent), je vous dis: Je ne vous imposerai pas d'autre fardeau;
Vnto you I saye and vnto other of them of Thiatyra as many as have not this lerninge and which have not knowen the depnes of Satha (as they saye) I will put apo you none other burthe
25 seulement, tenez ferme ce que vous avez, jusqu'à ce que je vienne.
but yt which ye have alreddy. Holde fast tyll I come
26 Et à celui qui vaincra et qui gardera jusqu'à la fin mes œuvres, je lui donnerai pouvoir sur les nations;
and whosoever overcometh and kepeth my workes vnto the ende to hym will I geve power over nacios
27 il les gouvernera avec un sceptre de fer, ainsi que l'on brise les vases d'argile,
and he shall rule them with a rodde of yron: and as the vessels of a potter shall he breake them to shevers. Eve as I receaved of my father
28 comme moi-même j'en ai reçu le pouvoir de mon Père, et je lui donnerai l'étoile du matin.
eue so will I geve him ye mornynge starre.
29 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises!
Let him yt hath eares heare what the sprete sayth to the congregacions.
