Psaumes 20

1 Au maître de chant. Psaume de David. Que Yahweh t'exauce au jour de la détresse, que le nom du Dieu de Jacob te protège!

For the Leader. A Psalm of David. The LORD answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;

2 Que du sanctuaire il t'envoie du secours, que de Sion il te soutienne!

Send forth thy help from the sanctuary, and support thee out of Zion;

3 Qu'il se souvienne de toutes tes oblations, et qu'il ait pour agréable tes holocaustes! — Séla.

Receive the memorial of all thy meal-offerings, and accept the fat of thy burnt-sacrifice; (Selah)

4 Qu'il te donne ce que ton cœur désire, et qu'il accomplisse tous tes desseins!

Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

5 Puissions-nous de nos cris joyeux saluer ta victoire, lever l'étendard au nom de notre Dieu! Que Yahweh accomplisse tous tes vœux!

We will shout for joy in thy victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our standards; the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Déjà je sais que Yahweh a sauvé son Oint; il l'exaucera des cieux, sa sainte demeure, par le secours puissant de sa droite.

Now know I that the LORD saveth His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the mighty acts of His saving right hand.

7 Ceux-ci comptent sur leurs chars, ceux-là sur leurs chevaux; nous, nous invoquons le nom de Yahweh, notre Dieu.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will make mention of the name of the LORD our God.

8 Eux, ils plient et ils tombent; nous, nous nous relevons et tenons ferme.

They are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen, and stand upright.

9 Yahweh, sauve le roi! — Qu'il nous exauce au jour où nous l'invoquons.

Save, LORD; let the King answer us in the day that we call.
