Luc 22
1 La fête des Azymes, qu'on appelle la Pâque, approchait;
Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2 et les Princes des prêtres et les Scribes cherchaient comment ils feraient mourir Jésus; car ils craignaient le peuple.
And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death; for they feared the people.
3 Or, Satan entra dans Judas, surnommé Iscariote, du nombre des Douze;
And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 et celui-ci alla s'entendre avec les Princes des prêtres et les magistrats, sur la manière de le leur livrer.
And he went away, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him unto them.
5 Eux, pleins de joie, promirent de lui donner de l'argent.
And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 Il s'engagea de son côté, et il cherchait une occasion favorable de leur livrer Jésus à l'insu de la foule.
And he consented, and sought opportunity to deliver him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7 Arriva le jour des Azymes, où l'on devait immoler la Pâque.
And the day of unleavened bread came, on which the passover must be sacrificed.
8 Jésus envoya Pierre et Jean: " Allez, leur dit-il, nous préparer le repas pascal. "
And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.
9 Ils lui dirent: " Où voulez-vous que nous le préparions? "
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we make ready?
10 Il leur répondit: " En entrant dans la ville, vous rencontrerez un homme portant une cruche d'eau; suivez-le dans la maison où il entrera,
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whereinto he goeth.
11 et vous direz au maître de cette maison: Le Maître te fait dire: Où est la salle où je mangerai la Pâque avec mes disciples?
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 Et il vous montrera un grand cénacle meublé: préparez-y ce qu'il faut. "
And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 Ils partirent, et trouvèrent les choses comme il le leur avait dit; et ils préparèrent la Pâque.
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 L'heure étant venue, Jésus se mit à table, et les douze Apôtres avec lui;
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him.
15 et il leur dit: " J'ai désiré d'un grand désir de manger cette Pâque avec vous avant de souffrir.
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 Car, je vous le dis, je ne la mangerai plus jusqu'à la Pâque parfaite, célébrée dans le royaume de Dieu. "
for I say unto you, I will not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 Et prenant une coupe, il rendit grâces et dit: " Prenez et partagez entre vous.
And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 Car, je vous le dis, je ne boirai plus du fruit de la vigne, jusqu'à ce que le royaume de Dieu soit venu. "
for I say unto you, I will not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 Puis il prit du pain, et ayant rendu grâces, il le rompit et le leur donna, en disant: " Ceci est mon corps, qui est donné pour vous: faites ceci en mémoire de moi. "
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Il fit de même pour la coupe, après le souper, disant: " Cette coupe est la nouvelle alliance en mon sang, lequel est versé pour vous.
And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you.
21 Cependant voici que la main de celui qui me trahit est avec moi à cette table.
But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 Quant au Fils de l'homme, il va selon ce qui a été décrété; mais malheur à l'homme par qui il est trahi! "
For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed!
23 Et les disciples se mirent à se demander les uns aux autres quel était celui d'entre eux qui devait faire cela.
And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24 Il s'éleva aussi parmi eux une dispute, pour savoir lequel d'entre eux devait être estimé le plus grand.
And there arose also a contention among them, which of them is accounted to be greatest.
25 Jésus leur dit: " Les rois des nations dominent sur elles, et ceux qui leur commandent sont appelés Bienfaiteurs.
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.
26 Pour vous, ne faites pas ainsi; mais que le plus grand parmi vous soit comme le dernier, et celui qui gouverne comme celui qui sert.
But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 Car quel est le plus grand, de celui qui est à table, ou de celui qui sert? N'est-ce pas celui qui est à table? Et moi, cependant, je suis au milieu de vous comme celui qui sert.
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
28 Vous, vous êtes demeurés avec moi dans mes épreuves;
But ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations;
29 et moi, je vous prépare un royaume, comme mon Père me l'a préparé,
and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,
30 afin que vous mangiez et buviez à ma table dans mon royaume, et que vous soyez assis sur des trônes, pour juger les douze tribus d'Israël. "
that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 Et le Seigneur dit: " Simon, Simon, voici que Satan vous a réclamés pour vous cribler comme le froment;
Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:
32 mais j'ai prié pour toi, afin que ta foi ne défaille point; et toi, quand tu seras converti, affermis tes frères. —
but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not: and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, stablish thy brethren.
33 Seigneur, lui dit Pierre, je suis prêt à aller avec vous et en prison et à la mort. "
And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
34 Jésus lui répondit: " Je te le dis, Pierre, le coq ne chantera pas aujourd'hui, que tu n'aies nié trois fois de me connaître. "
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 Il dit encore à ses disciples: " Quand je vous ai envoyés sans bourse, ni sac, ni chaussures, avez-vous manqué de quelque chose? —
And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 De rien, " lui dirent-ils. Il ajouta: " Mais maintenant, que celui qui a une bourse la prenne, et de même celui qui a un sac; et que celui qui n'a point d'épée vende son manteau, et en achète une.
And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet: and he that hath none, let him sell his cloke, and buy a sword.
37 Car, je vous le dis, il faut encore que cette parole de l'Écriture s'accomplisse en moi: Il a été mis au rang des malfaiteurs. En effet, ce qui me concerne touche à sa fin. "
For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfillment.
38 Ils lui dirent: " Seigneur, il y a ici deux épées. " Il leur répondit: " C'est assez. "
And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39 Etant sorti, il s'en alla, selon sa coutume, vers le mont des Oliviers, et ses disciples le suivirent.
And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.
40 Lorsqu'il fut arrivé dans ce lieu, il leur dit: " Priez, afin de ne point tomber en tentation. "
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 Puis il s'éloigna d'eux à la distance d'un jet de pierre; et s'étant mis à genoux, il priait,
And he was parted from them about a stone’s cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,
42 disant: " Père, si vous voulez, éloignez de moi ce calice! Cependant que ce ne soit pas ma volonté, mais la vôtre qui se fasse. "
saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 Alors lui apparut du ciel un ange qui le fortifiait.
And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
44 Et se trouvant en agonie, il priait plus instamment, et sa sueur devint comme des gouttes de sang découlant jusqu'à terre.
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.
45 Après avoir prié, il se leva et vint vers les disciples, qu'il trouva endormis de tristesse.
And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 Et il leur dit: " Pourquoi dormez-vous? Levez-vous et priez, afin de ne point entrer en tentation. "
and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
47 Comme il parlait encore, voici qu'une troupe de gens parut; celui qu'on appelait Judas, l'un des Douze, marchait en tête. Il s'approcha de Jésus pour le baiser.
While he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48 Et Jésus lui dit: " Judas, tu livres le Fils de l'homme par un baiser! "
But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49 Ceux qui étaient avec Jésus, voyant ce qui allait arriver, lui dirent: " Seigneur, si nous frappions de l'épée? "
And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 Et l'un d'eux frappa le serviteur du grand prêtre, et lui emporta l'oreille droite.
And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.
51 Mais Jésus dit: " Restez-en là. " Et, ayant touché l'oreille de cet homme, il le guérit.
But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52 Puis, s'adressant aux Princes des prêtres, aux officiers du temple et aux Anciens qui étaient venus pour le prendre, il leur dit: " Vous êtes venus comme après un brigand, avec des épées et des bâtons.
And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, which were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?
53 J'étais tous les jours avec vous dans le temple, et vous n'avez mis pas la main sur moi. Mais voici votre heure et la puissance des ténèbres. "
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54 S'étant saisis de lui, ils l'emmenèrent et le conduisirent dans la maison du grand prêtre; Pierre suivait de loin.
And they seized him, and led him [away], and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed afar off.
55 Ayant allumé du feu au milieu de la cour, ils s'assirent autour, et Pierre s'assit parmi eux.
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.
56 Une servante, qui le vit assis devant le feu, l'ayant regardé fixement, dit: " Cet homme était aussi avec lui. "
And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light [of the fire], and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.
57 Mais Pierre renia Jésus, en disant: " Femme, je ne le connais point. "
But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58 Peu après, un autre l'ayant vu, dit: " Tu es aussi de ces gens-là. " Pierre répondit: " Mon ami, je n'en suis point. "
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art [one] of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 Une heure s'était écoulée, lorsqu'un autre se mit à dire avec assurance: " Certainement cet homme était aussi avec lui, car il est de la Galilée. "
And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
60 Pierre répondit: " Mon ami, je ne sais ce que tu veux dire. " Et aussitôt, comme il parlait encore, le coq chanta.
But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 Et le Seigneur, s'étant retourné, regarda Pierre, et Pierre se souvint de la parole que le Seigneur lui avait dite: " Avant que le coq chante, tu me renieras trois fois. "
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 Et étant sorti de la maison, Pierre pleura amèrement.
And he went out, and wept bitterly.
63 Or, ceux qui tenaient Jésus se moquaient de lui et le frappaient.
And the men that held [Jesus] mocked him, and beat him.
64 Ils lui bandèrent les yeux, et, le frappant au visage, ils l'interrogeaient, disant: " Devine qui t'a frappé. "
And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?
65 Et ils proféraient contre lui beaucoup d'autres injures.
And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.
66 Dès qu'il fit jour, les Anciens du peuple, les Princes des prêtres et les Scribes se réunirent, et amenèrent Jésus dans leur assemblée. Ils dirent: " Si tu es le Christ, dis-le-nous. "
And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,
67 Il leur répondit: " Si je vous le dis, vous ne le croirez pas;
If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68 et si je vous interroge, vous ne me répondrez pas et ne me relâcherez pas.
and if I ask [you], ye will not answer.
69 Désormais le Fils de l'homme sera assis à la droite de la puissance de Dieu. "
But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
70 Alors ils dirent tous: " Tu es donc le Fils de Dieu? " Il leur répondit: " Vous le dites, je le suis. "
And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71 Et ils dirent: " Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoignage? Nous l'avons nous-mêmes entendu de sa bouche. "
And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
