Luc 20
1 Un de ces jours-là, comme Jésus enseignait le peuple dans le temple, et qu'il annonçait la bonne nouvelle, les Princes des prêtres et les Scribes survinrent avec les Anciens,
And it came to pass, on one of the days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and telling the good tidings, that the High-priests and the Scribes, with the Elders, came upon him, —
2 et lui dirent: " Dites-nous par quelle autorité vous faites ces choses, ou qui vous a donné cette autorité? "
and spake, saying, unto him—Tell us, by what authority, these things, thou art doing, and, who, is it, that gave thee this authority.
3 Jésus leur répondit: " Moi aussi je vous ferai une question. Répondez-moi.
And answering, he said unto them—I too, will question, you, as to a matter, —and tell me!
4 Le baptême de Jean était-il du ciel, ou des hommes? "
The immersion of John, Of heaven, was it, or of men?
5 Mais ils faisaient entre eux cette réflexion: " Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il nous dira: Pourquoi n'avez-vous pas cru en lui?
And they deliberated together by themselves, saying—If we say, Of heaven, he will say, Wherefore did ye not believe him?
6 Et si nous répondons: Des hommes, tout le peuple nous lapidera, car il est persuadé que Jean était un prophète. "
But, if we say, Of men, the people, one and all, will stone us, for, persuaded, they are, that, John, was, a prophet.
7 Ils lui répondirent donc qu'ils ne savaient d'où il était.
And they answered, that they knew not whence.
8 " Et Moi, leur dit Jésus, je ne vous dis pas non plus par quelle autorité je fais ces choses. "
And, Jesus, said unto them—Neither do, I, tell, you, by what authority, these things, I am doing.
9 Alors il se mit à dire au peuple cette parabole: " Un homme planta une vigne, et la loua à des vignerons; puis il s'en alla pour un temps assez long en pays étranger.
And he began, unto the people, to be speaking this parable: —A man, planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went from home for a long time.
10 La saison étant venue, il envoya un serviteur aux vignerons, afin qu'ils lui donnassent du produit de la vigne. Mais eux, l'ayant battu, le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
And, in due season, he sent unto the husbandmen, a servant, that, of the fruit of the vineyard, they might give him; but, the husbandmen, having beaten him, sent him away empty.
11 Il envoya encore un autre serviteur; mais, l'ayant aussi battu et traité indignement, ils le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
And he, further, sent another servant; but, they, beating, that one also, and dishonouring him, sent him away, empty.
12 Il en envoya un troisième; mais, lui aussi, les vignerons le blessèrent et le jetèrent dehors.
And he, further, sent, a third; but, they, bruising, this one also, thrust him out.
13 Alors le maître de la vigne se dit: Que ferai-je? J'enverrai mon fils bien-aimé; peut-être qu'en le voyant ils auront pour lui du respect.
And the lord of the vineyard said—What shall I do? I will send my son, the beloved, —It may be, that, him, they will respect.
14 Mais lorsque les vignerons le virent, ils se dirent entre eux: Celui-ci est l'héritier, tuons-le, afin que l'héritage soit à nous.
But he husbandmen, seeing him, began to deliberate one with another, saying—This, is, the heir: Let us slay him, that, ours, may be, the inheritance.
15 Et l'ayant jeté hors de la vigne, ils le tuèrent. Que leur fera donc le maître de la vigne?
And, thrusting him forth outside the vineyard, they slew him. What, then, will the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
16 Il viendra et exterminera ces vignerons, et donnera sa vigne à d'autres. " Ce qu'ayant entendu, ils dirent: " A Dieu ne plaise! "
He will come, and destroy these husbandmen, and give the vineyard unto others. But, when they heard it, they said—Far be it!
17 Mais, fixant le regard sur eux, Jésus dit: " Qu'est-ce donc que cette parole de l'Ecriture: La pierre qu'ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient est devenue la pierre angulaire?
But, he, looking at them, said—What, then, is this that is written, —A stone which the builders’ rejected, The same, hath become, head of the corner?
18 Quiconque tombera sur cette pierre sera brisé; et celui sur qui elle tombera, sera écrasé. "
Every one who falleth on that stone, will be sorely bruised, but, on whomsoever it shall fall, it will utterly destroy him.
19 Les Princes des prêtres et les Scribes cherchèrent à se saisir de lui à l'heure même; mais la crainte du peuple les retint, car ils comprenaient bien que c'était pour eux que Jésus avait dit cette parabole.
And the Scribes and the High-priests sought to thrust on him their hands, in that very hour; and feared the people; for they perceived that, against them, spake he this parable.
20 Ils ne le perdirent donc pas de vue, et lui envoyèrent des gens apostés qui feignaient d'être justes, pour le surprendre dans ses paroles, afin de le livrer à l'autorité et au pouvoir du gouverneur.
And, watching narrowly, they sent forth suborned men, feigning themselves to be, righteous, that they might lay hold of a word of his, so as to deliver him up unto the rule and the authority of the governor.
21 Ces gens l'interrogèrent en ces termes: " Maître, nous savons que vous parlez et enseignez avec droiture, et sans faire acception de personne, mais que vous enseignez la voie de Dieu dans la vérité.
And they questioned him, saying—Teacher! we know that, rightly, thou speakest and teachest, and respectest no person, but, in truth, the way of God, dost teach:
22 Nous est-il permis, ou non, de payer le tribut à César? "
Is it allowable for us to give, unto Caesar, tribute, or not?
23 Jésus, connaissant leur fourberie, leur dit: " Pourquoi me tentez-vous?
But, observing their villainy, he said unto them—
24 Montrez-moi un denier. De qui porte-t-il l'effigie et le nom? " Ils lui répondirent: " De César. "
Shew me a denary. Of whom, hath it an image and inscription? And, they, said—Of Caesar.
25 Et il leur dit: " Rendez donc à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu. "
And, he, said unto them—Well then! render the things of Caesar, unto Caesar, and the things of God, unto God.
26 Ainsi ils ne purent le prendre en défaut sur aucune parole devant le peuple; et admirant sa réponse, ils gardèrent le silence.
And they could not lay hold of the saying, before the people; and, marvelling at his answer, they held their peace.
27 Quelques-uns des Sadducéens, qui nient la résurrection, s'approchèrent alors et l'interrogèrent:
But there came near certain of the Sadducees, they who say, Resurrection, there is none! and questioned him,
28 " Maître, lui dirent-ils, Moïse nous a donné cette loi: Si un homme, ayant une femme, meurt sans laisser d'enfants, que son frère prenne sa femme, et suscite des enfants à son frère.
saying—Teacher! Moses, wrote for us, If one’s brother die, having a wife, and, he, be, childless, that his brother shall take the wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
29 Or, il y avait sept frères; le premier prit une femme et mourut sans enfants.
Seven brethren, therefore, there were, —and, the first, taking a wife, died childless,
30 Le second prit sa femme, et mourut aussi sans enfants.
And, the second,
31 Le troisième la prit ensuite, et de même tous les sept, et ils moururent sans laisser d'enfants.
and the third, took her, —yea, likewise, even the seven; They left no children, and died:
32 Après eux tous, la femme mourut aussi.
Later on, the woman also, died.
33 Duquel donc, au temps de la résurrection, sera-t-elle la femme, car elle l'a été de tous les sept? "
The woman, therefore, in the resurrection, Of which of them, doth she become wife? for, the seven, had her to wife.
And Jesus said unto them—The sons of this age, marry, and are given in marriage, — (aiōn g165)
35 mais ceux qui ont été trouvés dignes d'avoir part au siècle à venir et à la résurrection des morts, ne prennent point de femme et n'ont point de mari; (aiōn g165)
But, they who have been accounted worthy, that age, to obtain, and the resurrection that is from among the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; (aiōn g165)
36 aussi bien ne peuvent-ils plus mourir, puisqu'ils sont en comme les anges, et qu'ils sont fils de Dieu, étant fils de la résurrection.
For they cannot, even die any more, —for, equal unto messengers, are they, and are, sons of God, Of the resurrection, being, sons.
37 Mais que les morts ressuscitent, c'est ce que Moïse lui-même a fait connaître dans le passage du Buisson, lorsqu'il nomme le Seigneur: Le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob.
But, that the dead do rise, even Moses, disclosed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord—The God of Abraham and God of Isaac and God of Jacob:
38 Or il n'est pas Dieu des morts, mais des vivants; car tous sont vivants devant lui. "
Now, God, he is not, of the dead, but, of the living, —for, all, unto him, do live.
39 Quelques-uns des Scribes, prenant la parole, lui dirent: " Maître, vous avez bien parlé. "
And certain of the Scribes, answering, said—Teacher! Well, hast thou spoken.
40 Et ils n'osaient plus lui poser aucune question.
For, no longer, were they daring to ask him any questions.
41 Jésus leur dit: " Comment dit-on que le Christ est fils de David?
And he said unto them—How say they, that, the Christ, is, David’s Son?
42 David lui-même dit dans le livre des Psaumes: Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Asseyez-vous à ma droite,
For, David himself, saith, in [the] book of Psalms: Said the Lord, unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
43 jusqu'à ce que je fasse de vos ennemis l'escabeau de vos pieds. —
Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
44 David l'appelle donc Seigneur; comment peut-il être son fils? "
David, therefore, calleth, him Lord: How, then, his son, is he?
45 Tandis que tout le peuple l'écoutait, il dit à ses disciples:
And, all the people hearing, he said unto the disciples:
46 " Gardez-vous des Scribes, qui se plaisent à se promener en longues robes; qui aiment à être salués dans les places publiques, à occuper les premiers sièges dans les synagogues et les premières places dans les festins:
Be taking heed of the Scribes—Who desire to walk about in long robes, and are fond of salutations in the markets, and first seats in the synagogues, and first couches in the chief meals, —
47 ces gens qui dévorent les maisons des veuves, et font pour l'apparence de longues prières, subiront une condamnation plus sévère. "
Who devour the houses of widows, and, for a show, are a long time at prayer. These, shall receive, a heavier sentence.
