Luc 15
1 Tous les publicains et les pécheurs s'approchaient de Jésus pour l'entendre.
Then resorted vnto him all the Publicanes and sinners, to heare him.
2 Et les Pharisiens et les scribes murmuraient, disant: " Cet homme accueille des pécheurs et mange avec eux. "
Therefore the Pharises and Scribes murmured, saying, Hee receiueth sinners, and eateth with them.
3 Sur quoi il leur dit cette parabole:
Then spake hee this parable to them, saying,
4 " Qui d'entre vous, ayant cent brebis, s'il en perd une, ne laisse les quatre-vingt-dix-neuf autres dans le désert, pour aller après celle qui est perdue, jusqu'à ce qu'il l'ait retrouvée?
What man of you hauing an hundreth sheepe, if hee lose one of them, doeth not leaue ninetie and nine in the wildernesse, and goe after that which is lost, vntill he finde it?
5 Et quand il l'a retrouvée, il la met avec joie sur ses épaules;
And when he hath found it, he laieth it on his shoulders with ioye.
6 et, de retour à la maison, il assemble ses amis et ses voisins et leur dit: Réjouissez-vous avec moi, parce que j'ai trouvé ma brebis qui était perdue.
And when he commeth home, he calleth together his friendes and neighbours, saying vnto them, Reioyce with mee: for I haue founde my sheepe which was lost.
7 Ainsi, je vous le dis, il y aura plus de joie dans le ciel pour un seul pécheur qui se repent, que pour quatre-vingt-dix-neuf justes qui n'ont pas besoin de repentir.
I say vnto you, that likewise ioy shall be in heauen for one sinner that conuerteth, more then for ninetie and nine iust men, which neede none amendment of life.
8 Ou bien quelle est la femme qui, ayant dix drachmes, si elle en perd une, n'allume une lampe, ne balaie sa maison, et ne cherche avec soin jusqu'à ce qu'elle l'ait retrouvée?
Either what woman hauing ten groates, if she lose one groate, doth not light a candle, and sweepe the house, and seeke diligently till shee finde it?
9 Et quand elle l'a retrouvée, elle assemble ses amies et ses voisines et leur dit: Réjouissez-vous avec moi, parce que j'ai retrouvé la drachme que j'avais perdue.
And when shee hath found it, shee calleth her friendes, and neighbours, saying, Reioyce with me: for I haue found the groate which I had lost.
10 Ainsi, je vous le dis, il y a de la joie devant les anges de Dieu pour un seul pécheur qui se repent. "
Likewise I say vnto you, there is ioy in the presence of the Angels of God, for one sinner that conuerteth.
11 Il dit encore: " Un homme avait deux fils.
He sayde moreouer, A certaine man had two sonnes.
12 Le plus jeune dit à son père: Mon père, donne-moi la part du bien qui doit me revenir. Et le père leur partagea son bien.
And the yonger of them sayde to his father, Father, giue mee the portion of the goods that falleth to mee. So he deuided vnto them his substance.
13 Peu de jours après, le plus jeune fils ayant rassemblé tout ce qu'il avait, partit pour un pays lointain, et il y dissipa son bien en vivant dans la débauche.
So not many daies after, when the yonger sonne had gathered all together, hee tooke his iourney into a farre countrey, and there hee wasted his goods with riotous liuing.
14 Lorsqu'il eut tout dépensé, une grande famine survint dans ce pays, et il commença à sentir le besoin.
Nowe when hee had spent all, there arose a great dearth throughout that land, and he began to be in necessitie.
15 S'en allant donc, il se mit au service d'un habitant du pays, qui l'envoya à sa maison des champs pour garder les pourceaux.
Then hee went and claue to a citizen of that conntrey, and hee sent him to his farme, to feede swine.
16 Il eût bien voulu se rassasier des gousses que mangeaient les pourceaux, mais personne ne lui en donnait.
And hee would faine haue filled his bellie with the huskes, that the swine ate: but no man gaue them him.
17 Alors, rentrant en lui-même, il dit: Combien de mercenaires de mon père ont du pain en abondance, et moi, je meurs ici de faim!
Then he came to him selfe, and said, Howe many hired seruaunts at my fathers haue bread ynough, and I die for hunger?
18 Je me lèverai et j'irai à mon père, et je lui dirai: Mon père, j'ai péché contre le ciel et envers toi;
I wil rise and goe to my father, and say vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heaue, and before thee,
19 je ne mérite plus d'être appelé ton fils: traite-moi comme l'un de tes mercenaires.
And am no more worthy to be called thy sonne: make me as one of thy hired seruants.
20 Et il se leva et il alla vers son père. Comme il était encore loin, son père le vit, et, tout ému, il accourut, se jeta à son cou, et le couvrit de baisers.
So hee arose and came to his father, and when hee was yet a great way off, his father sawe him, and had compassion, and ranne and fell on his necke, and kissed him.
21 Son fils lui dit: Mon père, j'ai péché contre le ciel et envers toi; je ne mérite plus d'être appelé ton fils.
And the sonne sayde vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heauen, and before thee, and am no more worthie to be called thy sonne.
22 Mais le père dit à ses serviteurs: Apportez la plus belle robe et l'en revêtez; mettez-lui un anneau au doigt et des souliers aux pieds.
Then the father said to his seruaunts, Bring foorth the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feete,
23 Amenez aussi le veau gras et tuez-le; faisons un festin de réjouissance:
And bring the fat calfe, and kill him, and let vs eate, and be merie:
24 car mon fils que voici était mort, et il est revenu à la vie; il était perdu, et il est retrouvé. Et ils se mirent à faire fête.
For this my sonne was dead, and is aliue againe: and he was lost, but he is found. And they began to be merie.
25 Or, le fils aîné était dans les champs; comme il revenait et approchait de la maison, il entendit de la musique et des danses.
Nowe the elder brother was in the fielde, and when he came and drewe neere to the house, he heard melodie, and dauncing,
26 Appelant un des serviteurs, il lui demanda ce que c'était.
And called one of his seruaunts, and asked what those things meant.
27 Le serviteur lui dit: Votre frère est arrivé, et votre père a tué le veau gras, parce qu'il l'a recouvré sain et sauf.
And hee sayde vnto him, Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatte calfe, because he hath receiued him safe and sound.
28 Mais il se mit en colère, et ne voulut pas entrer. Le père sortit donc, et se mit à le prier.
Then he was angry, and would not goe in: therefore came his father out and entreated him.
29 Il répondit à son père: Voilà tant d'années que je te sers, sans avoir jamais transgressé tes ordres, et jamais tu ne m'as donné, à moi, un chevreau pour festoyer avec mes amis.
But he answered and said to his father, Loe, these many yeeres haue I done thee seruice, neither brake I at any time thy commadement, and yet thou neuer gauest mee a kidde that I might make merie with my friends.
30 Et quand cet autre fils, qui a dévoré ton bien avec des courtisanes, arrive, tu tues pour lui le veau gras!
But when this thy sonne was come, which hath deuoured thy good with harlots, thou hast for his sake killed the fat calfe.
31 Le père lui dit: Toi, mon fils, tu es toujours avec moi, et tout ce que j'ai est à toi.
And he said vnto him, Sonne, thou art euer with me, and al that I haue, is thine.
32 Mais il fallait bien faire un festin et se réjouir, parce que ton frère que voilà était mort, et qu'il est revenu à la vie; il était perdu, et il est retrouvé. "
It was meete that we shoulde make merie, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is aliue againe: and hee was lost, but he is found.
