Jean 1
1 Au commencement était le Verbe, et le Verbe était en Dieu, et le Verbe était Dieu.
In the beginnynge was the worde and the worde was with God: and the worde was God.
2 Il était au commencement en Dieu.
The same was in the beginnynge with God.
3 Tout par lui a été fait, et sans lui n'a été fait rien de ce qui existe.
All thinges were made by it and with out it was made nothinge that was made.
4 En lui était la vie, et la vie était la lumière des hommes,
In it was lyfe and the lyfe was ye lyght of men
5 Et la lumière luit dans les ténèbres, et les ténèbres ne l'ont point reçue.
and the lyght shyneth in the darcknes but the darcknes comprehended it not.
6 Il y eut un homme, envoyé de Dieu; son nom était Jean.
There was a man sent from God whose name was Iohn.
7 Celui-ci vint en témoignage, pour rendre témoignage à la lumière, afin que tous crussent par lui:
The same cam as a witnes to beare witnes of the lyght that all men through him myght beleve.
8 non que celui-ci fût la lumière, mais il avait à rendre témoignage à la lumière.
He was not that lyght: but to beare witnes of the lyght.
9 La lumière, la vraie, celle qui éclaire tout homme, venait dans le monde.
That was a true lyght which lyghteth all men that come into the worlde.
10 Il (le Verbe) était dans le monde, et le monde par lui a été fait, et le monde ne l'a pas connu.
He was in ye worlde and the worlde was made by him: and yet the worlde knewe him not.
11 Il vint chez lui, et les siens ne l'ont pas reçu.
He cam amonge his (awne) and his awne receaved him not.
12 Mais quant à tous ceux qui l'ont reçu, Il leur a donné le pouvoir de devenir enfants de Dieu, à ceux qui croient en son nom,
But as meny as receaved him to them he gave power to be the sonnes of God in yt they beleved on his name:
13 Qui non du sang, ni de la volonté de la chair, ni de la volonté de l'homme, mais de Dieu sont nés.
which were borne not of bloude nor of the will of the flesshe nor yet of the will of man: but of God.
14 Et le Verbe s'est fait chair, et il a habité parmi nous, (et nous avons vu sa gloire, gloire comme celle qu'un fils unique tient de son Père) tout plein de grâce et de vérité.
And the worde was made flesshe and dwelt amonge vs and we sawe the glory of it as the glory of the only begotten sonne of ye father which worde was full of grace and verite.
15 Jean lui rend témoignage, et s'écrie en ces termes: " Voici celui dont je disais: Celui qui vient après moi, est passé devant moi, parce qu'il était avant moi. "
Iohn bare witnes of him and cryed sayinge: This was he of whome I spake he that cometh after me was before me because he was yer then I.
16 Et c'est de sa plénitude, que nous avons tous reçu, et grâce sur grâce;
And of his fulnes have all we receaved even (grace) for grace.
17 parce que la loi a été donnée par Moïse, la grâce et la vérité sont venues par Jésus-Christ.
For the lawe was geven by Moses but grace and truthe came by Iesus Christ.
18 Dieu, personne ne le vit jamais: le Fils unique, qui est dans le sein du Père, c'est lui qui l'a fait connaître.
No ma hath sene God at eny tyme. The only begotte sonne which is in ye bosome of ye father he hath declared him.
19 Et voici le témoignage que rendit Jean, lorsque les Juifs envoyèrent de Jérusalem des prêtres et des lévites pour lui demander: " Qui êtes-vous? "
And this is the recorde of Iohn: When the Iewes sent Prestes and Levites from Ierusalem to axe him what arte thou?
20 Il déclara, et ne le nia point; il déclara: " Je ne suis point le Christ. "
And he confessed and denyed not and sayde playnly: I am not Christ.
21 Et ils lui demandèrent: " Quoi donc! Etes-vous Elie? " Il dit: " Je ne le suis point — Etes-vous le prophète? " Il répondit: " Non. —
And they axed him: what then? arte thou Helyas? And he sayde: I am not. Arte thou a Prophete? And he answered no.
22 Qui êtes-vous donc, lui dirent-ils, afin que nous donnions une réponse à ceux qui nous ont envoyés. Que dites-vous de vous-même? "
Then sayd they vnto him: what arte thou that we maye geve an answer to them that sent vs: What sayest thou of thy selfe?
23 Il répondit: " Je suis la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert: Aplanissez le chemin du Seigneur, comme l'a dit le prophète Isaïe. "
He sayde: I am the voyce of a cryar in the wyldernes make strayght the waye of the Lorde as sayde the Prophete Esaias.
24 Or ceux qu'on lui avait envoyés étaient des Pharisiens.
And they which were sent were of the pharises.
25 Et ils l'interrogèrent, et lui dirent: " Pourquoi donc baptisez-vous, si vous n'êtes ni le Christ, ni Elie, ni le Prophète? "
And they axed him and sayde vnto him: why baptisest thou then yf thou be not Christ nor Helyas nether a Prophet?
26 Jean leur répondit: " Moi je baptise dans l'eau; mais au milieu de vous il y a quelqu'un que vous ne connaissez pas,
Iohn answered them sayinge: I baptise with water: but one is come amonge you whom ye knowe not
27 c'est celui qui vient après moi; je ne suis pas digne de délier la courroie de sa chaussure. "
he it is that cometh after me whiche was before me whose sho latchet I am not worthy to vnlose.
28 Cela se passait à Béthanie, au delà du Jourdain, où Jean baptisait.
These thinges were done in Bethabara beyonde Iordan where Iohn dyd baptyse.
29 Le lendemain, Jean vit Jésus qui venait vers lui, et il dit: " Voici l'agneau de Dieu, voici celui qui ôte le péché du monde.
The nexte daye Iohn sawe Iesus commyge vnto him and sayde: beholde the lambe of God which taketh awaye the synne of the worlde.
30 C'est de lui que j'ai dit: un homme vient après moi, qui est passé devant moi, parce qu'il était avant moi.
This is he of whom I sayde. After me cometh a man which was before me for he was yer then I
31 Et moi, je ne le connaissais pas, mais c'est afin qu'il fût manifesté à Israël, que je suis venu baptiser dans l'eau. "
and I knew him not: but that he shuld be declared to Israell therfore am I come baptisynge with water.
32 Et Jean rendit témoignage en disant: " J'ai vu l'Esprit descendre du ciel comme une colombe, et il s'est reposé sur lui.
And Iohn bare recorde sayinge: I sawe the sprete descende from heven lyke vnto a dove and abyde apon him
33 Et moi, je ne le connaissais pas; mais celui qui m'a envoyé baptiser dans l'eau m'a dit: Celui sur qui tu verras l'Esprit descendre et se reposer, c'est lui qui baptise dans l'Esprit-Saint.
and I knewe him not. But he that sent me to baptise in water the same sayde vnto me: apon whom thou shalt se the sprete descende and tary styll on him the same is he which baptiseth with the holy goost.
34 Et moi j'ai vu et j'ai rendu témoignage que celui-là est le Fils de Dieu. "
And I sawe and bare recorde that this is the sonne of God.
35 Le lendemain, Jean se trouvait encore là, avec deux de ses disciples.
The next daye after Iohn stode agayne and two of his disciples.
36 Et ayant regardé Jésus qui passait, il dit: " Voici l'Agneau de Dieu. "
And he behelde Iesus as he walked by and sayde: beholde the lambe of God.
37 Les deux disciples l'entendirent parler, et ils suivirent Jésus.
And the two disciples hearde him speake and folowed Iesus.
38 Jésus s'étant retourné, et voyant qu'ils le suivaient, leur dit: " Que cherchez-vous? " Ils lui répondirent: " Rabbi (ce qui signifie Maître), où demeurez-vous? "
And Iesus turned about and sawe them folowe and sayde vnto them: what seke ye? They sayde vnto him: Rabbi (which is to saye by interpretacion Master) where dwellest thou?
39 Il leur dit: " Venez et vous verrez. " Ils allèrent, et virent où il demeurait, et ils restèrent auprès de lui ce jour-là. Or, c'était environ la dixième heure.
He sayde vnto them: come and se. They came and sawe where he dwelt: and abode with him that daye. For it was about the tenthe houre.
40 Or, André, le frère de Simon-Pierre, était l'un des deux qui avaient entendu la parole de Jean, et qui avaient suivi Jésus.
One of the two which hearde Iohn speake and folowed Iesus was Andrew Simon Peters brother.
41 Il rencontra d'abord son frère Simon, et lui dit: " Nous avons trouvé le Messie (ce qui se traduit Christ). "
The same founde his brother Simon fyrst and sayde vnto him: we have founde Messias which is by interpretacion annoynted:
42 Et il l'amena à Jésus. Jésus, l'ayant regardé dit: " Toi, tu es Simon, fils de Jean; tu seras appelé Céphas (ce qui se traduit Pierre). "
and brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him and sayde: thou arte Simon the sonne of Ionas thou shalt be called Cephas: which is by interpretacion a stone.
43 Le jour suivant, Jésus résolut d'aller en Galilée. Et il rencontra Philippe. Et Jésus lui dit: " Suis-moi. "
The daye folowynge Iesus wolde goo into Galile and founde Philip and sayde vnto him folowe me.
44 Philippe était de Bethsaïde, la ville d'André et de Pierre.
Philip was of Bethsaida the cite of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philippe rencontra Nathanaël et lui dit: " Nous avons trouvé celui dont Moïse a écrit dans la Loi, ainsi que les Prophètes: c'est Jésus, fils de Joseph de Nazareth. "
And Philip founde Nathanael and sayde vnto him. We have founde him of whom Moses in the lawe and the prophetes dyd wryte. Iesus the sonne of Ioseph of Nazareth.
46 Nathanaël lui répondit: " Peut-il sortir de Nazareth quelque chose de bon? " Philippe lui dit: " Viens et vois. "
And Nathanael sayde vnto him: can ther eny good thinge come out of Nazareth? Philip sayde to him: come and se.
47 Jésus vit venir vers lui Nathanaël, et dit en parlant de lui: " Voici vraiment un Israélite, en qui il n'y a nul artifice. "
Iesus sawe Nathanael commynge to him and sayde of him. Beholde a ryght Israelite in who is no gyle.
48 Nathanaël lui dit: " D'où me connaissez-vous? " Jésus repartit et lui dit: " Avant que Philippe t'appelât, lorsque tu étais sous le figuier, je t'ai vu. "
Nathanael sayd vnto him: where knewest thou me? Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: Before that Philip called the when thou wast vnder ye fygge tree I sawe the.
49 Nathanaël lui répondit: " Rabbi, vous êtes le Fils de Dieu, vous êtes le Roi d'Israël. "
Nathanael answered and sayde vnto him: Rabbi thou arte the sonne of God thou arte the kynge of Israel.
50 Jésus lui repartit: " Parce que je t'ai dit: Je t'ai vu sous le figuier, tu crois! Tu verras de plus grandes choses que celle-là. "
Iesus answered and sayd vnto him: Because I sayde vnto the I sawe the vnder the fygge tree thou belevest. Thou shalt se greater thinges then these.
51 Et il ajouta: " En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, vous verrez désormais le ciel ouvert, et les anges de Dieu montant et descendant sur le Fils de l'homme. "
And he sayde vnto him: Verely verely I saye vnto you: herafter shall ye se heven open and the angels of God ascendynge and descendynge over the sonne of man.
