2 Thessaloniciens 3
1 Au reste, frères, priez pour nous, afin que la parole du Seigneur poursuive sa course et soit en honneur, comme elle l'est chez vous,
For the rest, brethren, be praying for us, —that, the word of the Lord, may be running, and gaining glory, according as [it did] even with you;
2 et afin que nous soyons délivrés des hommes fâcheux et pervers; car la foi n'est pas le partage de tous.
And that we may be rescued from the presuming and wicked men; for, not all, hold the faith.
3 Mais le Seigneur est fidèle, il vous affermira et vous préservera du mal.
Faithful, is the Lord, —who will confirm you, and guard you from the wicked one:
4 Nous avons en vous cette confiance dans le Seigneur, que vous faites et que vous ferez ce que nous vous prescrivons.
We are persuaded, however, in the Lord, as touching you, —that, what things we give in charge, Ye [both] are doing and will do; —
5 Que le Seigneur dirige vos cœurs dans l'amour de Dieu et la patience du Christ!
But may, the Lord, guide your hearts into the love of God, and into the endurance of the Christ.
6 Nous vous enjoignons, frères, au nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, de vous séparer de tout frère qui vit d'une façon déréglée, et non selon les instructions reçues de nous.
Howbeit, we charge you, brethren, —that, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, ye be withdrawing yourselves from every brother—who, in a disorderly way, doth walk, and not according to the instruction which ye received from us.
7 Vous savez vous-mêmes ce que vous devez faire pour nous imiter; car nous n'avons rien eu de déréglé parmi vous.
For, ye yourselves, know, how needful it is to be imitating us, in that we were not disorderly among you,
8 Nous n'avons mangé gratuitement le pain de personne; mais nous avons été nuit et jour à l'œuvre, dans la fatigue et la peine, pour n'être à charge à aucun de vous.
Nor, as a free-gift, did eat, bread, from anyone, but, with toil and hardship, night and day, working, —that we might not burden any of you; —
9 Ce n'est pas que nous n'en eussions le droit; mais nous voulions vous donner en nous-mêmes un exemple à imiter.
Not because we have not authority, but that, ourselves, as an ensample, we might hold forth unto you, —to the end ye might he imitating us.
10 Aussi bien, lorsque nous étions chez vous, nous vous déclarions que si quelqu'un ne veut pas travailler, il ne doit pas manger non plus.
For, even when we were with you, this, were we giving in charge unto you, —that, if any will not work, neither let him eat!
11 Cependant nous apprenons qu'il y a parmi vous des gens déréglés, qui ne travaillent pas, mais qui ne s'occupent que de choses vaines.
We hear, in fact, of some who are walking among you in a disorderly way, at nothing, working, yet too busily working!
12 Nous les invitons et nous les exhortons par le Seigneur Jésus-Christ, de travailler paisiblement pour manger un pain qui leur appartienne.
Now, such as these, we charge and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, —that, with quietness, working, their own bread, they be eating.
13 Pour vous, frères, ne vous lassez pas de faire le bien.
But, ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing; —
14 Et si quelqu'un n'obéit pas à l'ordre donnée par cette lettre, notez-le, et, pour le confondre, ne le fréquentez plus.
And, if anyone be not giving ear unto our word through means of this letter, on this one, set a mark—not to be mixing yourselves up with him, —that he may be reproved;
15 Ne le considérez pourtant pas comme un ennemi, mais avertissez-le comme un frère.
And, not as an enemy, be esteeming him, but be admonishing him, as a brother.
16 Que le Seigneur de la paix vous donne lui-même la paix en tout temps, de toute manière! Que le Seigneur soit avec tous!
But may, the Lord of peace himself, give you peace, always, in every way. The Lord, be with you all.
17 LA SALUTATION EST DE MA PROPRE MAIN, À MOI PAUL; C'EST LÀ MA SIGNATURE DANS TOUTES LES LETTRES: C'EST AINSI QUE J'ÉCRIS.
The salutation of Paul—with my own hand, which is a sign in every letter: thus, I write.
18 QUE LA GRÂCE DE NOTRE SEIGNEUR JÉSUS-CHRIST SOIT AVEC VOUS TOUS!
The favour of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you all.
