Luc 4
1 Jésus, rempli de l’Esprit-Saint, revint du Jourdain, et il fut poussé par l’Esprit dans le désert,
And Iesus full of the holy Ghost returned from Iordan, and was led by that Spirit into the wildernes,
2 pendant quarante jours, en butte aux tentations du diable. Il ne mangea rien durant ces jours-là, et quand ils furent passés, il eut faim.
And was there fourtie dayes tempted of the deuil, and in those dayes he did eate nothing: but when they were ended, he afterward was hungry.
3 Alors le diable lui dit: « Si tu es Fils de Dieu, commande à cette pierre de se changer en pain. »
Then the deuil saide vnto him, If thou be the Sonne of God, commaund this stone that it be made bread.
4 Jésus lui répondit: « Il est écrit: L’homme ne vit pas seulement de pain, mais de toute parole de Dieu. »
But Iesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not liue by bread only, but by euery word of God.
5 Et le diable l’ayant emmené sur une haute montagne, lui montra en un instant tous les royaumes de la terre,
Then the deuill tooke him vp into an high mountaine, and shewed him all the kingdomes of the world, in the twinkeling of an eye.
6 et lui dit: « Je te donnerai toute cette puissance et toute la gloire de ces royaumes; car elle m’a été livrée, et je la donne à qui je veux.
And the deuill saide vnto him, All this power will I giue thee, and the glory of those kingdomes: for that is deliuered to mee: and to whomsoeuer I will, I giue it.
7 Si donc tu te prosternes devant moi, elle sera toute à toi. »
If thou therefore wilt worship mee, they shalbe all thine.
8 Jésus lui répondit: « Il est écrit: Tu adoreras le Seigneur ton Dieu, et tu le serviras lui seul. »
But Iesus answered him, and saide, Hence from mee, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him alone thou shalt serue.
9 Le démon le conduisit encore à Jérusalem, et l’ayant placé sur le pinacle du temple, il lui dit: « Si tu es Fils de Dieu, jettes-toi d’ici en bas.
Then hee brought him to Hierusalem, and set him on a pinacle of the Temple, and said vnto him, If thou be the Sonne of God, cast thy selfe downe from hence,
10 Car il est écrit: Il a été donné pour toi l’ordre à ses anges de te garder,
For it is written, That hee will giue his Angels charge ouer thee to keepe thee:
11 et ils te prendront entre leurs mains, de peur que ton pied ne heurte contre la pierre. »
And with their handes they shall lift thee vp, least at any time thou shouldest dash thy foote against a stone.
12 Jésus lui répondit: « Il a été écrit: Tu ne tenteras pas le Seigneur ton Dieu. »
And Iesus answered, and said vnto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 Après l’avoir ainsi tenté de toutes manières, le diable se retira de lui pour un temps.
And when the deuil had ended all the tentation, he departed from him for a litle season.
14 Alors Jésus retourna en Galilée, dans la puissance de l’Esprit, et sa renommée se répandit dans tout le pays d’alentour.
And Iesus returned by the power of the spirite into Galile: and there went a fame of him throughout all the region round about.
15 Il enseignait dans leurs synagogues, et tous publiaient ses louanges.
For he taught in their Synagogues, and was honoured of all men.
16 Étant venu à Nazareth, où il avait été élevé, il entra, selon sa coutume, le jour du sabbat dans la synagogue, et se leva pour faire la lecture.
And hee came to Nazareth where hee had bene brought vp, and (as his custome was) went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stoode vp to reade.
17 On lui remit le livre du prophète Isaïe; et l’ayant déroulé, il trouva l’endroit où il était écrit:
And there was deliuered vnto him the booke of the Prophet Esaias: and when hee had opened the booke, hee founde the place, where it was written,
18 « L’Esprit du Seigneur est sur moi, parce qu’il m’a consacré par son onction, pour porter la bonne nouvelle aux pauvres, et il m’a envoyé guérir ceux qui ont le cœur brisé,
The Spirit of the Lord is vpon mee, because he hath anoynted me, that I should preach the Gospel to the poore: he hath sent mee, that I should heale the broken hearted, that I should preach deliuerance to the captiues, and recouering of sight to the blinde, that I should set at libertie them that are bruised:
19 annoncer aux captifs la délivrance, aux aveugles le retour à la vue, pour rendre libres les opprimés, publier l’année favorable du Seigneur. »
And that I should preache the acceptable yeere of the Lord.
20 Ayant roulé le livre, il le rendit au ministre et s’assit; et tous, dans la synagogue, avaient les yeux attachés sur lui.
And hee closed the booke, and gaue it againe to the minister, and sate downe: and the eyes of all that were in the Synagogue were fastened on him.
21 Alors, il commença à leur dire: « Aujourd’hui vos oreilles ont entendu l’accomplissement de cet oracle. »
Then he began to say vnto them, This day is the Scripture fulfilled in your eares.
22 Et tous lui rendaient témoignage, et admirant les paroles de grâce qui sortaient de sa bouche, ils disaient: « N’est-ce pas là le fils de Joseph? »
And all bare him witnes, and wondered at the gracious wordes, which proceeded out of his mouth, and said, Is not this Iosephs sonne?
23 Et il leur dit: « Sans doute, vous m’alléguerez cet adage: Médecin, guéris-toi toi-même; et vous me direz: Les grandes choses que nous avons ouï dire que vous avez faites à Capharnaüm, faites-les ici dans votre patrie. »
Then he said vnto them, Ye will surely say vnto mee this prouerbe, Physician, heale thy selfe: whatsoeuer we haue heard done in Capernaum, doe it here likewise in thine owne countrey.
24 Et il ajouta: « En vérité, je vous le dis, aucun prophète n’est bien reçu dans sa patrie.
And he saide, Verely I say vnto you, No Prophet is accepted in his owne countrey.
25 Je vous le dis, en vérité, il y avait beaucoup de veuves en Israël aux jours d’Élie, lorsque le ciel fut fermé pendant trois ans et six mois, et qu’il y eut une grande famine dans toute la terre;
But I tell you of a trueth, many widowes were in Israel in the dayes of Elias, when heauen was shut three yeres and sixe moneths, when great famine was throughout all the land:
26 et pourtant Élie ne fut envoyé à aucune d’elles, mais à une veuve de Sarepta, dans le pays de Sidon.
But vnto none of them was Elias sent, saue into Sarepta, a citie of Sidon, vnto a certaine widowe.
27 Il y avait de même beaucoup de lépreux en Israël au jours du prophète Elisée; et pourtant aucun d’eux ne fut guéri, mais bien Naaman le Syrien. »
Also many lepers were in Israel, in the time of Eliseus the Prophet: yet none of them was made cleane, sauing Naaman the Syrian.
28 En entendant cela, ils furent tous remplis de colère dans la synagogue.
Then all that were in the Synagogue, when they heard it, were filled with wrath,
29 Et s’étant levés, ils le poussèrent hors de la ville, et le menèrent jusqu’à un escarpement de la montagne sur laquelle leur ville était bâtie pour le précipiter en bas.
And rose vp, and thrust him out of the citie, and led him vnto the edge of the hil, whereon their citie was built, to cast him downe headlong.
30 Mais lui, passant au milieu d’eux, s’en alla.
But he passed through the middes of them, and went his way,
31 Il descendit à Capharnaüm, ville de Galilée, et là il enseignait les jours de sabbat.
And came downe into Capernaum a citie of Galile, and there taught them on the Sabbath dayes.
32 Et sa doctrine les frappait d’étonnement, parce qu’il parlait avec autorité.
And they were astonied at his doctrine: for his worde was with authoritie.
33 Il y avait dans la synagogue un homme possédé d’un démon impur, lequel jeta un grand cri,
And in the Synagogue there was a man which had a spirit of an vncleane deuill, which cryed with a loude voyce,
34 disant: « Laissez-moi, qu’avons-nous à faire avec toi, Jésus de Nazareth? Es-tu venu pour nous perdre? Je sais qui tu es: le Saint de Dieu. »
Saying, Oh, what haue we to doe with thee, thou Iesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy vs? I know who thou art, euen the holy one of God.
35 Mais Jésus lui dit d’un ton sévère: « Tais-toi, et sors de cet homme. » Et le démon l’ayant jeté par terre au milieu de l’assemblée, sortit de lui sans lui avoir fait aucun mal.
And Iesus rebuked him, saying, Holde thy peace, and come out of him. Then the deuill throwing him in the middes of them, came out of him, and hurt him nothing at all.
36 Et tous, saisis de stupeur, se disaient entre eux: « Quelle est cette parole? Il commande avec autorité et puissance aux esprits impurs, et ils sortent! »
So feare came on them all, and they spake among themselues, saying, What thing is this: for with authoritie and power he commaundeth the foule spirits, and they come out?
37 Et sa renommée se répandait de tous côtés dans le pays.
And ye fame of him spred abroad throughout all the places of the countrey round about.
38 S’étant alors levé, Jésus quitta la synagogue, et entra dans la maison de Simon. Or, la belle-mère de Simon était atteinte d’une grosse fièvre, et ils le prièrent pour elle.
And he rose vp, and came out of the Synagogue, and entred into Simons house. And Simons wiues mother was taken with a great feuer, and they required him for her.
39 Se penchant sur la malade, il commanda à la fièvre, et la fièvre la quitta; et s’étant levée aussitôt, elle se mit à les servir.
Then he stoode ouer her, and rebuked the feuer, and it left her, and immediatly she arose, and ministred vnto them.
40 Lorsque le soleil fut couché, tous ceux qui avaient chez eux des malades, quel que fût leur mal, les lui amenèrent; et Jésus, imposant la main à chacun d’eux, les guérit.
Now at the sunne setting, all they that had sicke folkes of diuers diseases, brought them vnto him, and he layd his hands on euery one of them, and healed them.
41 Des démons aussi sortaient de plusieurs, criant et disant: « Tu es le Fils de Dieu «; et il les réprimandait pour leur imposer silence, parce qu’ils savaient qu’il était le Christ.
And deuils also came out of many, crying, and saying, Thou art that Christ that Sonne of God: but he rebuked them, and suffered them not to say that they knewe him to be that Christ.
42 Dès que le jour parut, il sortit et s’en alla en un lieu désert. Une foule de gens se mirent à sa recherche, et étant arrivés jusqu’à lui, ils voulaient le retenir, pour qu’il ne les quittât point.
And when it was day, he departed, and went foorth into a desart place, and the people sought him, and came to him, and kept him that he should not depart from them.
43 Mais il leur dit: « Il faut que j’annonce aussi aux autres villes le royaume de Dieu, car je suis envoyé pour cela. »
But he sayd vnto them, Surely I must also preach the kingdome of God to other cities: for therefore am I sent.
44 Et Jésus prêchait dans les synagogues de la Galilée.
And hee preached in the Synagogues of Galile.
