Luc 7
1 Après avoir achevé de parler à l'oreille du peuple, il entra dans Capernaüm.
And whanne he hadde fulfillid alle hise wordis in to the eeris of the puple, he entride in to Cafarnaum.
2 Le serviteur d'un centurion, qui lui était cher, était malade et sur le point de mourir.
But a seruaunt of a centurien, that was precious to hym, was sijk, and drawynge to the deeth.
3 Ayant entendu parler de Jésus, il lui envoya des anciens des Juifs, le priant de venir sauver son serviteur.
And whanne he hadde herd of Jhesu, he sente to hym the eldere men of Jewis, and preiede hym, that he wolde come, and heele his seruaunt.
4 Lorsqu'ils arrivèrent auprès de Jésus, ils le supplièrent instamment en disant: « Il est digne que tu fasses cela pour lui,
And whanne thei camen to Jhesu, thei preieden hym bisili, and seiden to hym, For he is worthi, that thou graunte to hym this thing;
5 car il aime notre nation, et c'est pour nous qu'il a bâti notre synagogue. »
for he loueth oure folk, and he bildide to vs a synagoge.
6 Jésus alla avec eux. Comme il n'était plus très loin de la maison, le centurion lui envoya des amis pour lui dire: « Seigneur, ne te tourmente pas, car je ne suis pas digne que tu viennes sous mon toit.
And Jhesus wente with hem. And whanne he was not fer fro the hous, the centurien sente to hym freendis, and seide, Lord, nyle thou be trauelid, for Y am not worthi, that thou entre vnder my roof;
7 C'est pourquoi je ne me suis même pas cru digne de venir te voir; mais dis la parole, et mon serviteur sera guéri.
for which thing and Y demede not my silf worthi, that Y come to thee; but seie thou bi word, and my child schal be helid.
8 Car moi aussi, je suis un homme placé sous autorité, ayant sous mes ordres des soldats. Je dis à l'un: « Va », et il va; à un autre: « Viens », et il vient; à mon serviteur: « Fais ceci », et il le fait ».
For Y am a man ordeyned vndur power, and haue knyytis vndur me; and Y seie to this, Go, and he goith, and to anothir, Come, and he cometh, and to my seruaunt, Do this thing, and he doith.
9 En entendant ces choses, Jésus s'étonna de lui, puis il se retourna et dit à la foule qui le suivait: « Je vous le dis, je n'ai pas trouvé une si grande foi, pas même en Israël. »
And whanne this thing was herd, Jhesus wondride; and seide to the puple suynge hym, Treuli Y seie to you, nether in Israel Y foond so greet feith.
10 Ceux qui avaient été envoyés, étant retournés à la maison, trouvèrent que le serviteur qui avait été malade était guéri.
And thei that weren sent, turneden ayen home, and founden the seruaunt hool, which was sijk.
11 Peu après, il se rendit dans une ville appelée Naïn. Plusieurs de ses disciples, ainsi qu'une grande foule, l'accompagnèrent.
And it was don aftirward, Jhesus wente in to a citee, that is clepid Naym, and hise disciplis; and ful greet puple wente with hym.
12 Comme il approchait de la porte de la ville, voici qu'on emportait un mort, fils unique de sa mère, qui était veuve. Beaucoup de gens de la ville étaient avec elle.
And whanne he cam nyy to the yate of the citee, lo! the sone of a womman that hadde no mo children, was borun out deed; and this was a widowe; and myche puple of the citee with hir.
13 Le Seigneur, en la voyant, eut pitié d'elle et lui dit: « Ne pleure pas. »
And whanne the Lord Jhesu hadde seyn hir, he hadde reuthe on hir, and seide to hir, Nyle thou wepe.
14 Il s'approcha et toucha le cercueil, et les porteurs s'arrêtèrent. Il dit: « Jeune homme, je te le dis, lève-toi! »
And he cam nyy, and touchide the beere; and thei that baren stoden. And he seide, Yonge man, Y seie to thee, rise vp.
15 Celui qui était mort se redressa et se mit à parler. Puis il le confia à sa mère.
And he that was deed sat vp ayen, and bigan to speke; and he yaf hym to his modir.
16 Tous furent saisis de crainte et glorifièrent Dieu en disant: « Un grand prophète s'est levé parmi nous » et « Dieu a visité son peuple ».
And drede took alle men, and thei magnyfieden God, and seiden, For a grete profete is rysun among vs, and, For God hath visitid his puple.
17 Cette nouvelle se répandit à son sujet dans toute la Judée et dans toute la région environnante.
And this word wente out of hym in to al Judee, and in to al the cuntre aboute.
18 Les disciples de Jean lui racontèrent toutes ces choses.
And Joones disciplis toolden hym of alle these thingis.
19 Jean, ayant appelé à lui deux de ses disciples, les envoya vers Jésus, en disant: « Es-tu celui qui vient, ou devons-nous en chercher un autre? »
And Joon clepide tweyn of hise disciplis, and sente hem to Jhesu, and seide, Art thou he that is to come, or abiden we anothir?
20 Les hommes, s'étant approchés de lui, dirent: « Jean le Baptiseur nous a envoyés vers toi, pour dire: « Es-tu celui qui vient, ou devons-nous en chercher un autre? ».
And whanne the men cam to hym, thei seiden, Joon Baptist sente vs to thee, and seide, Art thou he that is to come, or we abiden anothir?
21 En cette heure-là, il guérit beaucoup de maladies, de fléaux et d'esprits mauvais, et il rendit la vue à beaucoup d'aveugles.
And in that our he heelide many men of her sijknessis, and woundis, and yuel spiritis; and he yaf siyt to many blynde men.
22 Jésus leur répondit: « Allez annoncer à Jean ce que vous avez vu et entendu: que les aveugles recouvrent la vue, que les boiteux marchent, que les lépreux sont purifiés, que les sourds entendent, que les morts ressuscitent, et que la bonne nouvelle est annoncée aux pauvres.
And Jhesus answerde, and seide to hem, Go ye ayen, and telle ye to Joon tho thingis that ye han herd and seyn; blynde men seyn, crokid men goen, mesels ben maad cleene, deef men heren, deed men risen ayen, pore men ben takun to prechyng of the gospel.
23 Heureux celui qui ne trouve en moi aucune occasion de chute! »
And he that schal not be sclaundrid in me, is blessid.
24 Lorsque les messagers de Jean furent partis, il se mit à dire à la foule, au sujet de Jean: « Qu'êtes-vous allés voir dans le désert? Un roseau secoué par le vent?
And whanne the messangeris of Joon weren go forth, he bigan to seie of Joon to the puple,
25 Mais qu'êtes-vous allés voir? Un homme vêtu d'un doux vêtement? Voici, ceux qui sont magnifiquement vêtus et qui vivent dans la délicatesse sont dans les cours des rois.
What wenten ye out in to desert to se? a reed waggid with the wynd?
26 Mais vous, qu'êtes-vous allés voir? Un prophète? Oui, je vous le dis, et bien plus qu'un prophète.
But what wenten ye out to se? a man clothid with softe clothis? Lo! thei that ben in precious cloth and in delicis, ben in kyngis housis. But what wenten ye out to se? a profete? Yhe, Y seie to you, and more than a profete.
27 C'est celui dont il est écrit, Voici que j'envoie mon messager devant toi, qui préparera ton chemin devant toi.
This is he, of whom it is writun, Lo! Y sende myn aungel bifor thi face, which schal make `thi weie redi bifor thee.
28 « Car je vous le dis, parmi ceux qui sont nés de femmes, il n'y a pas de plus grand prophète que Jean le Baptiseur; or, celui qui est le plus petit dans le Royaume de Dieu est plus grand que lui. »
Certis Y seie to you, there is no man more prophete among children of wymmen, than is Joon; but he that is lesse in the kyngdom of heuenes, is more than he.
29 Quand tout le peuple et les publicains entendirent cela, ils déclarèrent que Dieu est juste, ayant été baptisés par le baptême de Jean.
And al the puple herynge, and pupplicans, that hadden be baptisid with baptym of Joon, iustifieden God;
30 Mais les pharisiens et les juristes rejetèrent le conseil de Dieu, n'ayant pas été eux-mêmes baptisés par lui.
but the Farisees and the wise men of the lawe, that weren not baptisid of hym, dispisiden the counsel of God ayens hem silf.
31 " A quoi dois-je donc comparer les gens de cette génération? A quoi ressemblent-ils?
And the Lord seide, Therfor to whom schal Y seie `men of this generacioun lijk, and to whom ben thei lijk?
32 Ils ressemblent à des enfants qui, assis sur la place du marché, s'interpellent les uns les autres en disant: 'Nous avons sifflé pour vous, et vous n'avez pas dansé. Nous nous sommes lamentés, et vous n'avez pas pleuré.
Thei ben lijk to children sittynge in chepyng, and spekynge togider, and seiynge, We han sungun to you with pipis, and ye han not daunsid; we han maad mornyng, and ye han not wept.
33 Car Jean le Baptiste n'est venu ni manger du pain ni boire du vin, et vous dites: « Il a un démon ».
For Joon Baptist cam, nethir etynge breed, ne drynkynge wyne, and ye seyen, He hath a feend.
34 Le Fils de l'homme est venu en mangeant et en buvant, et vous dites: « Voici un glouton et un ivrogne, l'ami des publicains et des pécheurs ».
Mannus sone cam etynge and drynkynge, and ye seien, Lo! a man a deuourer, and drynkynge wyne, a frend of pupplicans and of synful men.
35 La sagesse est justifiée par tous ses enfants. »
And wisdom is iustified of her sones.
36 Un des pharisiens l'invita à manger avec lui. Il entra dans la maison du pharisien et se mit à table.
But oon of the Farisees preiede Jhesu, that he schulde ete with hym. And he entride in to the hous of the Farise, and sat at the mete.
37 Et voici qu'une femme de la ville, qui était pécheresse, sachant qu'il était couché dans la maison du pharisien, apporta un vase d'albâtre rempli de parfum.
And lo! a synful womman, that was in the citee, as sche knewe, that Jhesu sat at the mete in the hous of the Farisee, sche brouyte an alabaustre box of oynement;
38 Se tenant derrière à ses pieds en pleurant, elle se mit à mouiller ses pieds avec ses larmes, les essuya avec les cheveux de sa tête, baisa ses pieds et les oignit avec le parfum.
and sche stood bihynde bysidis hise feet, and bigan to moiste hise feet with teeris, and wipide with the heeris of hir heed, and kiste hise feet, and anoyntide with oynement.
39 Le pharisien qui l'avait invité, voyant cela, se dit: « Cet homme, s'il était prophète, aurait compris qui et quelle sorte de femme c'est qui le touche, que c'est une pécheresse. »
And the Farise seynge, that hadde clepide hym, seide within hym silf, seiynge, If this were a prophete, he schulde wite, who and what maner womman it were that touchith hym, for sche is a synful womman.
40 Jésus lui répondit: « Simon, j'ai quelque chose à te dire. » Il a dit: « Maître, parle. »
And Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, Symount, Y haue sumthing to seie to thee. And he seide, Maistir, seie thou.
41 « Un certain prêteur avait deux débiteurs. L'un devait cinq cents deniers, et l'autre cinquante.
And he answeride, Twei dettouris weren to o lener; and oon auyt fyue hundrid pans, and `the other fifti;
42 Comme ils ne pouvaient pas payer, il leur a pardonné à tous les deux. Lequel d'entre eux donc l'aimera le plus? »
but whanne thei hadden not wherof `thei schulden yeelde, he foryaf to bothe. Who thanne loueth hym more?
43 Simon répondit: « Celui, je suppose, à qui il a pardonné le plus. » Il lui dit: « Tu as bien jugé. »
Symount answeride, and seide, Y gesse, that he to whom he foryaf more. And he answeride to hym, Thou hast demyd riytli.
44 Se tournant vers la femme, il dit à Simon: « Vois-tu cette femme? Je suis entré dans ta maison, et tu ne m'as pas donné d'eau pour mes pieds, mais elle a mouillé mes pieds avec ses larmes, et les a essuyés avec les cheveux de sa tête.
And he turnede to the womman, and seide to Symount, Seest thou this womman? I entride into thin hous, thou yaf no watir to my feet; but this hath moistid my feet with teeris, and wipide with hir heeris.
45 Tu ne m'as pas donné de baiser, mais elle, depuis que je suis entré, n'a pas cessé de baiser mes pieds.
Thou hast not youun to me a cosse; but this, sithen sche entride, ceesside not to kisse my feet.
46 Tu n'as pas oint ma tête d'huile, mais elle a oint mes pieds de parfum.
Thou anoyntidist not myn heed with oile; but this anoyntide my feet with oynement.
47 C'est pourquoi je vous dis que ses péchés, qui sont nombreux, sont pardonnés, car elle a beaucoup aimé. Mais celui à qui on pardonne peu, aime peu. »
For the which thing Y seie to thee, many synnes ben foryouun to hir, for sche hath loued myche; and to whom is lesse foryouun, he loueth lesse.
48 Il lui dit: « Tes péchés sont pardonnés. »
And Jhesus seide to hir, Thi synnes ben foryouun to thee.
49 Ceux qui étaient à table avec lui se mirent à dire en eux-mêmes: « Qui est celui-ci, qui pardonne même les péchés? »
And thei that saten to gider at the mete, bigunnen to seie with ynne hem silf, Who is this that foryyueth synnes.
50 Il dit à la femme: « Ta foi t'a sauvée. Va en paix. »
But he seide to the womman, Thi feith hath maad thee saaf; go thou in pees.
