Luc 22
1 Or, la fête des pains sans levain, qu'on appelle la Pâque, approchait.
Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2 Les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes cherchaient comment ils pourraient le faire mourir, car ils craignaient le peuple.
And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death; for they feared the people.
3 Satan entra dans Judas, appelé aussi Iscariote, qui était compté parmi les douze.
And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 Il s'en alla, et s'entretint avec les principaux sacrificateurs et les chefs militaires sur la manière dont il pourrait le leur livrer.
And he went away, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him unto them.
5 Ils furent heureux, et convinrent de lui donner de l'argent.
And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 Il y consentit et chercha une occasion de le leur livrer en l'absence de la foule.
And he consented, and sought opportunity to deliver him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7 Le jour des pains sans levain arriva, où l'on devait sacrifier la Pâque.
And the day of unleavened bread came, on which the passover must be sacrificed.
8 Jésus envoya Pierre et Jean, en disant: « Allez nous préparer la Pâque, afin que nous la mangions. »
And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.
9 Ils lui dirent: « Où veux-tu que nous nous préparions? »
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we make ready?
10 Il leur dit: « Voici, quand vous serez entrés dans la ville, un homme portant une cruche d'eau viendra à votre rencontre. Suivez-le dans la maison où il entrera.
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whereinto he goeth.
11 Dites au maître de la maison: « Le maître te dit: Où est la chambre d'amis où je pourrai manger la Pâque avec mes disciples? »
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 Il te montrera une grande chambre haute meublée. Fais-y tes préparatifs. »
And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 Ils partirent, trouvèrent les choses comme Jésus le leur avait dit, et ils préparèrent la Pâque.
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 Lorsque l'heure fut venue, il s'assit avec les douze apôtres.
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him.
15 Il leur dit: « J'ai vivement désiré manger cette Pâque avec vous avant de souffrir,
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 car, je vous le dis, je n'en mangerai plus jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit accomplie dans le Royaume de Dieu. »
for I say unto you, I will not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 Il reçut une coupe, et, après avoir rendu grâces, il dit: « Prenez ceci et partagez-le entre vous,
And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 car, je vous le dis, je ne boirai plus du tout du fruit de la vigne, jusqu'à ce que le Royaume de Dieu soit accompli. »
for I say unto you, I will not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 Il prit du pain, et, après avoir rendu grâces, il le rompit et le leur donna, en disant: « Ceci est mon corps, qui est donné pour vous. Faites ceci en mémoire de moi. »
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 De même, après le repas, il prit la coupe, en disant: « Cette coupe est la nouvelle alliance en mon sang, qui est répandu pour vous.
And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you.
21 Mais voici, la main de celui qui me livre est avec moi sur la table.
But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 Le Fils de l'homme s'en va, en effet, comme il a été décidé, mais malheur à l'homme par qui il est livré! »
For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed!
23 Ils commencèrent à se demander entre eux lequel d'entre eux était celui qui ferait cette chose.
And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24 Une dispute s'éleva aussi entre eux, pour savoir lequel d'entre eux était considéré comme le plus grand.
And there arose also a contention among them, which of them is accounted to be greatest.
25 Il leur dit: « Les rois des nations les dominent, et ceux qui ont autorité sur eux sont appelés « bienfaiteurs ».
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.
26 Mais il n'en est pas de même pour vous. Au contraire, que celui qui est le plus grand parmi vous devienne comme le plus jeune, et celui qui gouverne, comme celui qui sert.
But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 Car qui est le plus grand, celui qui est assis à table, ou celui qui sert? N'est-ce pas celui qui est assis à la table? Mais moi, je suis au milieu de vous comme celui qui sert.
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
28 « Mais vous, vous êtes ceux qui ont persévéré avec moi dans mes épreuves.
But ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations;
29 Je vous confère un royaume, comme mon Père me l'a conféré,
and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,
30 afin que vous mangiez et buviez à ma table dans mon Royaume. Vous serez assis sur des trônes, et vous jugerez les douze tribus d'Israël. »
that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 Le Seigneur dit: « Simon, Simon, voici que Satan a demandé à vous avoir tous, afin de vous cribler comme le blé,
Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:
32 mais j'ai prié pour toi, afin que ta foi ne défaille pas. Toi, quand tu te seras retourné, affermis tes frères. »
but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not: and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, stablish thy brethren.
33 Il lui dit: « Seigneur, je suis prêt à aller avec toi en prison et à la mort! ».
And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
34 Il dit: « Je te le dis, Pierre, le coq ne chantera pas aujourd'hui avant que tu n'aies renié trois fois que tu me connais. »
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 Il leur dit: « Quand je vous ai envoyés sans bourse, sans sac et sans sandales, avez-vous manqué de quelque chose? ». Ils ont dit: « Rien. »
And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 Puis il leur dit: « Maintenant, si quelqu'un a une bourse, qu'il la prenne, ainsi qu'un sac. Si quelqu'un n'en a pas, qu'il vende son manteau et achète une épée.
And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet: and he that hath none, let him sell his cloke, and buy a sword.
37 Car, je vous le dis, il faut encore que s'accomplisse en moi ce qui est écrit: « Il a été compté parmi les transgresseurs ». Car ce qui me concerne s'accomplit. »
For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfillment.
38 Ils dirent: « Seigneur, voici deux épées. » Il leur a dit: « Ça suffit. »
And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39 Il sortit et alla, selon sa coutume, sur la montagne des Oliviers. Ses disciples le suivirent aussi.
And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.
40 Lorsqu'il fut arrivé à ce lieu, il leur dit: « Priez pour ne pas entrer en tentation. »
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 Il se retira d'eux à environ un jet de pierre, et, s'étant mis à genoux, il pria,
And he was parted from them about a stone’s cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,
42 en disant: « Père, si tu le veux, éloigne de moi cette coupe. Cependant, que ce ne soit pas ma volonté qui se fasse, mais la tienne. »
saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 Un ange du ciel lui apparut, et le fortifia.
And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
44 Étant à l'agonie, il priait avec plus d'ardeur. Sa sueur devint comme de grosses gouttes de sang qui tombaient sur le sol.
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.
45 S'étant levé après avoir prié, il vint vers les disciples et les trouva endormis à cause de la tristesse,
And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 et il leur dit: « Pourquoi dormez-vous? Levez-vous et priez afin de ne pas entrer en tentation. »
and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
47 Comme il parlait encore, une foule apparut. Celui qu'on appelait Judas, l'un des douze, était à leur tête. Il s'approcha de Jésus pour le baiser.
While he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48 Mais Jésus lui dit: « Judas, est-ce par un baiser que tu trahis le Fils de l'homme? »
But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49 Ceux qui étaient autour de lui, voyant ce qui allait se passer, lui dirent: « Seigneur, devons-nous frapper par l'épée? »
And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 Un certain nombre d'entre eux frappèrent le serviteur du grand prêtre, et lui coupèrent l'oreille droite.
And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.
51 Mais Jésus répondit: « Laissez-moi au moins faire ceci. » Il toucha son oreille et le guérit.
But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52 Jésus dit aux principaux sacrificateurs, aux chefs du temple et aux anciens, qui étaient venus contre lui: « Vous êtes sortis comme contre un brigand, avec des épées et des bâtons?
And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, which were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?
53 Lorsque j'étais chaque jour avec vous dans le temple, vous ne portiez pas la main sur moi. Mais voici votre heure, et la puissance des ténèbres. »
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54 Ils se saisirent de lui, l'emmenèrent, et le conduisirent dans la maison du grand prêtre. Mais Pierre suivait à distance.
And they seized him, and led him [away], and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed afar off.
55 Lorsqu'ils eurent allumé un feu au milieu de la cour et se furent assis ensemble, Pierre s'assit au milieu d'eux.
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.
56 Une servante le vit comme il était assis dans la lumière, et, le regardant attentivement, elle dit: « Cet homme aussi était avec lui. »
And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light [of the fire], and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.
57 Il a renié Jésus, disant: « Femme, je ne le connais pas. »
But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58 Un peu plus tard, quelqu'un d'autre le vit et dit: « Toi aussi, tu es l'un d'entre eux! » Mais Pierre répondit: « Homme, je ne le suis pas! »
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art [one] of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 Après qu'une heure environ se soit écoulée, un autre affirma avec assurance: « En vérité, cet homme aussi était avec lui, car il est Galiléen! »
And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
60 Mais Pierre dit: « Mon gars, je ne sais pas de quoi tu parles! » Aussitôt, alors qu'il parlait encore, un coq chanta.
But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 Le Seigneur se retourna et regarda Pierre. Pierre se souvint alors de la parole du Seigneur, qui lui avait dit: « Avant que le coq chante, tu me renieras trois fois. »
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 Il sortit, et pleura amèrement.
And he went out, and wept bitterly.
63 Les hommes qui tenaient Jésus se moquaient de lui et le battaient.
And the men that held [Jesus] mocked him, and beat him.
64 Lui ayant bandé les yeux, ils le frappèrent au visage et lui demandèrent: « Prophétise! Qui est celui qui t'a frappé? »
And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?
65 Ils dirent encore beaucoup d'autres choses contre lui, en l'insultant.
And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.
66 Dès que le jour fut venu, l'assemblée des anciens du peuple se rassembla, les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes, et ils l'emmenèrent dans leur conseil, en disant:
And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,
67 « Si tu es le Christ, dis-le nous. » Mais il leur dit: « Si je vous le dis, vous ne croirez pas,
If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68 et si je vous interroge, vous ne me répondrez pas et ne me laisserez pas partir.
and if I ask [you], ye will not answer.
69 Désormais, le Fils de l'homme sera assis à la droite de la puissance de Dieu. »
But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
70 Ils dirent tous: « Es-tu donc le Fils de Dieu? » Il leur a dit: « Vous le dites, parce que je le suis. »
And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71 Ils dirent: « Pourquoi aurions-nous besoin d'un autre témoignage? Car nous avons nous-mêmes entendu de sa propre bouche! »
And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
