Luc 17
1 Il dit aux disciples: « Il est impossible qu'il n'y ait pas d'occasions de chute, mais malheur à celui par qui elles arrivent!
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe [unto him], through whom they come!
2 Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu'on lui suspende au cou une meule de moulin et qu'on le jette à la mer, plutôt que de faire trébucher l'un de ces petits.
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
3 Prends garde. Si ton frère pèche contre toi, reprends-le. S'il se repent, pardonne-lui.
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 S'il a péché contre toi sept fois dans la journée, et que sept fois il revienne en disant: « Je me repens », tu lui pardonneras. »
And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5 Les apôtres dirent au Seigneur: « Augmente notre foi. »
And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 Le Seigneur dit: « Si vous aviez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous diriez à ce sycomore: « Déracine-toi et plante-toi dans la mer », et il vous obéirait.
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 Mais qui parmi vous, ayant un serviteur qui laboure ou qui garde des moutons, lui dira, quand il reviendra des champs: « Viens immédiatement te mettre à table »?
But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8 Ne lui dira-t-il pas plutôt: « Prépare mon repas, habille-toi correctement, et sers-moi pendant que je mange et que je bois. Ensuite, tu mangeras et tu boiras »?
And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Remercie-t-il ce serviteur parce qu'il a fait ce qui lui a été ordonné? Je ne le pense pas.
Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10 De même, vous aussi, quand vous aurez fait tout ce qui vous a été commandé, dites: « Nous sommes des serviteurs indignes. Nous avons fait notre devoir. »
So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
11 Comme il se rendait à Jérusalem, il passait par les frontières de la Samarie et de la Galilée.
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 Comme il entrait dans un village, dix hommes lépreux, qui se tenaient à l'écart, vinrent à sa rencontre.
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 Ils élevèrent la voix et dirent: « Jésus, Maître, aie pitié de nous! »
And they lifted up [their] voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 Quand il les vit, il leur dit: « Allez vous montrer aux prêtres. » Comme ils allaient, ils furent purifiés.
And when he saw [them], he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 L'un d'eux, voyant qu'il était guéri, revint sur ses pas en glorifiant Dieu d'une voix forte.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 Il tomba sur sa face aux pieds de Jésus et lui rendit grâces; c'était un Samaritain.
And fell down on [his] face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jésus répondit: « Les dix n'ont-ils pas été purifiés? Mais où sont les neuf autres?
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where [are] the nine?
18 N'a-t-on pas trouvé d'autres qui soient revenus pour rendre gloire à Dieu, si ce n'est cet étranger? »
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 Alors il lui dit: « Lève-toi, et va-t'en. Ta foi t'a guéri. »
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 Les pharisiens lui ayant demandé quand viendrait le Royaume de Dieu, il leur répondit: « Le Royaume de Dieu ne vient pas en observateur;
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 on ne dira pas non plus: « Regardez, ici! » ou « Regardez, là! » car voici, le Royaume de Dieu est en vous. »
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 Il dit aux disciples: « Les jours viendront où vous désirerez voir l'un des jours du Fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez pas.
And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see [it].
23 On vous dira: « Regarde, ici! » ou « Regarde, là! ». Ne vous éloignez pas et ne les suivez pas,
And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after [them], nor follow [them].
24 car, de même que l'éclair, lorsqu'il part d'une partie du ciel, brille vers une autre partie du ciel, ainsi en sera-t-il du Fils de l'homme en son jour.
For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one [part] under heaven, shineth unto the other [part] under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 Mais il faut d'abord qu'il souffre beaucoup et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.
But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 Comme il en fut du temps de Noé, il en sera de même du temps du Fils de l'homme.
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 Ils mangeaient, ils buvaient, ils se mariaient et ils étaient fiancés, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans la barque, et où le déluge vint et les détruisit tous.
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Il en fut de même du temps de Lot: ils mangeaient, ils buvaient, ils achetaient, ils vendaient, ils plantaient, ils bâtissaient;
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 mais le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, il tomba du ciel une pluie de feu et de soufre qui les fit tous périr.
But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all.
30 Il en sera de même le jour où le Fils de l'homme sera révélé.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 En ce jour-là, celui qui sera sur le toit et qui aura ses biens dans la maison, qu'il ne descende pas pour les emporter. De même, que celui qui sera dans les champs ne se retourne pas.
In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot!
Remember Lot’s wife.
33 Celui qui cherche à sauver sa vie la perd, mais celui qui perd sa vie la conserve.
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 Je vous le dis, en cette nuit-là, il y aura deux personnes dans un même lit. L'une sera prise et l'autre laissée.
I tell you, in that night there shall be two [men] in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Il y aura deux personnes qui moudront du grain ensemble. L'une sera prise et l'autre laissée ».
Two [women] shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two [men] shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 Eux, répondant, lui demandèrent: « Où, Seigneur? » Il leur dit: « Là où est le corps, là aussi les vautours seront rassemblés. »
And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body [is], thither will the eagles be gathered together.
