Filippenzen 4
1 Zoo dan, mijn beminde en gewenschte broeders, mijn vreugde en kroon, staat alzoo vast in den Heere, beminden!
Stand fast then, brothers, dearly loved and longed for, my joy and my crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved!
2 Ik vermaan Euodia en ook Syntyche vermaan ik, om in den Heere eensgezind te zijn,
Euodia I entreat, and I entreat Syntyche, to be of the same mind of the Lord;
3 ja, ik verzoek ook u, getrouwe medearbeider! help haar die in het Evangelie met mij gestreden hebben, en met Klemens en mijn andere medearbeiders, wier namen in het boek des levens zijn.
yes, and I beg you also, my true yokefellow, to help them; for these women shared my toil in the furtherance of the gospel, together with Clement, and the rest of my fellow workers whose names are in the book of life.
4 Verblijdt u altijd in den Heere! Nog eens zeg ik: verblijdt u!
Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again will I say, rejoice!
5 Uw billijkheid zij bekend aan alle menschen; de Heere is nabij!
Let your reasonableness be recognized by every one. The Lord is near you.
6 Zijt in niets bekommerd, maar laat door al uw bidden en smeeken met dankzegging, uw begeerten bekend worden bij God.
Do not worry about anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 En de vrede Gods, die boven alle verstand, gaat, zal uw harten en gedachten bewaren in Christus Jezus.
and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will stand guard over your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
8 En voor het overige, broeders! al wat waar is, al wat eerlijk is, al wat recht is, al wat rein is, al wat liefelijk is, al wat welluidend is, als er eenige deugd of eenige lof is— laat uw gedachten daarop zijn gevestigd.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if virtue is anything, if honor is anything, be always thinking about these.
9 En wat gij geleerd en ontvangen en gehoord en in mij gezien hebt, doet dat; en de God des vredes zal met ulieden zijn.
Put in practise also what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me; and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 En ik ben grootelijks verblijd in den Heere dat gij eindelijk wakker geworden zijt om aan mij te gedenken. Wel hadt gij er aan gedacht, maar gij hadt de gelegenheid niet.
Moreover, I greatly rejoiced in the Lord that now once more your care for me blossomed afresh; though indeed you did take thought in this matter, but you lacked the opportunity of expression.
11 Niet dat ik wegens gebrek spreek; want ik heb geleerd om tevreden te zijn in hetgeen ik ben.
Not that I speak as if I were in want, for at least have learned how to be content, whatever happens.
12 Ik weet ook vernederd te worden, ik weet ook overvloed te hebben; in alle opzichten en in alles ben ik onderwezen, zoowel om verzadigd te zijn als om honger te hebben, om overvloed te hebben als om te kort te komen.
I know how to live humbly, and I also know how to bear prosperity. In every place and under all circumstances I have been initiated into the secret of fulness and of hunger, of prosperity and of want.
13 Alles kan ik in Hem die mij versterkt.
I am strong for everything in Him who gives me strength.
14 Toch hebt gij goed gedaan met deel te nemen aan mijn verdrukking.
Notwithstanding, you have acted nobly in making yourselves comrades in my trouble.
15 En gij zelf, Filippiërs, gij weet dat in het begin des Evangelies, toen ik van Macedonië kwam, geen gemeente met mij gedeeld heeft, wat de rekening van uitgave en ontvangst betreft, dan gij alleen.
And you very well know, Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I had left Macedonia, no church but yourselves had fellowship with me in the matter of giving and receiving.
16 Want ook in Thessalonika hebt gij mij meer dan eens gezonden tot mijn nooddruft.
For even while I was still in Thessalonica, you sent once and again for my needs.
17 Niet dat ik de gifte zoek, maar ik zoek de vrucht, die overvloedig is, wat uw rekening betreft.
It is not your gifts I am eager for, but I am eager for the abundant profit that accrues to your divine account.
18 Doch ik bezit alles en heb overvloed. Ik ben volkomen voorzien toen ik van Epafroditus ontvangen heb hetgeen van u kwam, een welriekende reuk, een aangename offerande, welbehagelijk aan God.
But I give you a receipt in full for all things abound. I am amply supplied with what you sent by Epaphroditus - an odor of sweet fragrance, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.
19 Doch mijn God zal al uw nooddruft vervullen, naar zijn rijkdom in glorie, in Christus Jezus.
All your own needs my God will fully supply, according to his riches in glory, in Christ Jesus.
Now unto our God and Father be the glory, forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
21 Groet alle heiligen in Christus Jezus.
Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me salute you.
22 U groeten de broeders die met mij zijn. U groeten al de heiligen en vooral die uit het huis des keizers zijn.
All the saints salute you, and especially the slaves of the Emperor’s household.
23 De genade van onzen Heere Jezus Christus zij met uw geest, Amen.
