Matteuksen 19
1 Ja tapahtui, kuin Jesus oli lopettanut nämät puheet, läksi hän Galileasta ja tuli Juudean maan rajoille, sille puolelle Jordania.
And it came to passe, that when Iesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galile, and came into ye coasts of Iudea beyond Iordan.
2 Ja paljo kansaa seurasi häntä, ja hän paransi heitä siellä.
And great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.
3 Ja Pharisealaiset tulivat hänen tykönsä, kiusasivat häntä, ja sanoivat hänelle: saako mies eritä vaimostaan kaikkinaisen syyn tähden?
Then came vnto him the Pharises tempting him, and saying to him, Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wife vpon euery occasion?
4 Niin hän vastasi ja sanoi heille: ettekö te ole lukeneet: joka alusta ihmisen teki, mieheksi ja vaimoksi hän heidät teki?
And he answered and sayd vnto them, Haue ye not read, that hee which made them at the beginning, made them male and female,
5 Ja sanoi: sentähden pitää ihmisen luopuman isästänsä ja äidistänsä, ja vaimoonsa sidottu oleman, ja ne kaksi tulevat yhdeksi lihaksi:
And sayd, For this cause, shall a man leaue father and mother, and cleaue vnto his wife, and they which were two shalbe one flesh.
6 Niin ei he ole enään kaksi, mutta yksi liha. Jonka siis Jumala yhteen sovitti, ei pidä ihmisen sitä eroittaman.
Wherefore they are no more twaine, but one flesh. Let not man therefore put asunder that, which God hath coupled together.
7 He sanoivat hänelle: miksi Moses käski antaa erokirjan ja hyljätä hänen?
They said to him, Why did then Moses commaund to giue a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away?
8 Sanoi hän heille: teidän sydämenne kovuuden tähden salli Moses teidän eritä vaimoistanne; vaan ei alusta niin ollut.
He sayd vnto them, Moses, because of the hardnesse of your heart, suffered you to put away your wiues: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 Mutta minä sanon teille: kuka ikänä hylkää vaimonsa muutoin kuin huoruuden tähden, ja nai toisen, hän tekee huorin; ja joka hyljätyn ottaa, hän tekee huorin.
I say therefore vnto you, that whosoeuer shall put away his wife, except it be for whoredome, and marry another, committeth adulterie: and whosoeuer marieth her which is diuorced, doeth commit adulterie.
10 Hänen opetuslapsensa sanoivat hänelle: jos miehen asia niin on vaimon kanssa, ei sitte ole hyvä naida.
Then sayd his disciples to him, If the matter be so betweene man and wife, it is not good to marry.
11 Niin hän sanoi heille: ei tätä sanaa kaikki käsitä, vaan ne, joille se annettu on.
But he sayd vnto them, All men cannot receiue this thing, saue they to whom it is giuen.
12 Sillä muutamat ovat kuohitut, jotka äitinsä kohdusta niin syntyneet ovat: ja ovat kuohitut, jotka ihmisiltä kuohitut ovat: ja ovat kuohitut, jotka taivaan valtakunnan tähden itse kuohinneet ovat. Joka sen taitaa käsittää, se käsittäkään.
For there are some eunuches, which were so borne of their mothers belly: and there be some eunuches, which be gelded by men: and there be some eunuches, which haue gelded them selues for the kingdome of heauen. He that is able to receiue this, let him receiue it.
13 Silloin vietiin hänen tykönsä lapsia, että hän laskis kätensä heidän päällensä ja rukoilis; mutta opetuslapset nuhtelivat heitä.
Then were brought to him litle children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 Mutta Jesus sanoi: sallikaat lasten olla, ja älkäät kieltäkö heitä tulemasta minun tyköni: sillä senkaltaisten on taivaan valtakunta.
But Iesus sayd, Suffer the litle children, and forbid them not to come to me: for of such is the kingdome of heauen.
15 Ja kuin hän oli pannut kätensä heidän päällensä, meni hän sieltä pois.
And when he had put his hands on them, he departed thence.
16 Ja katso, yksi tuli ja sanoi hänelle: hyvä Mestari! mitä hyvää minun pitää tekemän, että minä saisin ijankaikkisen elämän? (aiōnios g166)
And beholde, one came and sayd vnto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I doe, that I may haue eternall life? (aiōnios g166)
17 Niin hän sanoi hänelle: miksi sinä kutsut minun hyväksi? Ei ole kenkään hyvä, vaan yksi, Jumala. Mutta jos sinä tahdot elämään sisälle tulla, niin pidä käskyt.
And he said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, eue God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keepe ye commandemets.
18 Hän sanoi hänelle: kutka? Jesus sanoi: ei sinun pidä tappaman: ei sinun pidä huorin tekemän: ei sinun pidä varastaman: ei sinun pidä väärin todistaman:
He sayd to him, Which? And Iesus sayde, These, Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnesse.
19 Kunnioita isääs ja äitiäs: ja sinun pitää rakastaman lähimmäistäs niinkuin itse sinuas.
Honour thy father and mother: and thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
20 Sanoi nuorukainen hänelle: kaikki nämät olen minä pitänyt nuoruudestani; mitä vielä minulta puuttuu?
The yong man sayd vnto him, I haue obserued all these things from my youth: what lacke I yet?
21 Sanoi Jesus hänelle: jos sinä tahdot olla täydellinen, niin mene ja myy mitä sinulla on, ja anna vaivaisille: ja sinun pitää saaman tavaran taivaassa; ja tule ja seuraa minua.
Iesus sayd vnto him, If thou wilt be perfite, go, sell that thou hast, and giue it to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, and follow me.
22 Mutta kuin nuorukainen kuuli sen puheen, meni hän pois murheissansa; sillä hänellä oli paljo tavaraa.
And when the yong man heard that saying, he went away sorowfull: for he had great possessions.
23 Mutta Jesus sanoi opetuslapsillensa: totisesti sanon minä teille: rikas tulee työläästi taivaan valtakuntaan.
Then Iesus sayd vnto his disciples, Verely I say vnto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdome of heauen.
24 Ja taas sanon minä teille: huokiampi on kamelin käydä neulan silmän lävitse, kuin rikkaan tulla Jumalan valtakuntaan.
And againe I say vnto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to enter into ye kingdome of God.
25 Mutta koska hänen opetuslapsensa sen kuulivat, peljästyivät he sangen kovin, sanoen: kuka siis taitaa autuaaksi tulla?
And whe his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amased, saying, Who then can be saued?
26 Niin Jesus katsahti heidän päällensä ja sanoi heille: ihmisten tykönä on se mahdotoin, mutta Jumalan tykönä ovat kaikki mahdolliset.
And Iesus behelde them, and sayde vnto them, With men this is vnpossible, but with God all things are possible.
27 Silloin vastasi Pietari ja sanoi hänelle: katso, me luovuimme kaikista ja seuraamme sinua: mitä siis meidän siitä on?
Then answered Peter, and said to him, Beholde, we haue forsaken all, and followed thee: what therefore shall we haue?
28 Niin sanoi Jesus heille: totisesti sanon minä teille, te, jotka minua olette seuranneet, uudessa syntymisessä, kuin Ihmisen Poika istuu kunniansa istuimella, pitää myös teidän istuman kahdellatoistakymmenellä istuimella, tuomiten kahtatoistakymmentä Israelin sukukuntaa.
And Iesus said vnto them, Verely I say to you, that when the Sonne of man shall sit in the throne of his maiestie, ye which folowed me in the regeneration, shall sit also vpon twelue thrones and iudge the twelue tribes of Israel.
29 Ja jokainen, joka luopui huoneista, taikka veljistä, taikka sisarista, taikka isästä, taikka äidistä, taikka emännästä, taikka lapsista, taikka pellosta, minun nimeni tähden, hänen pitää satakertaisesti saaman, ja ijankaikkisen elämän perimän. (aiōnios g166)
And whosoeuer shall forsake houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my Names sake, he shall receiue an hundreth folde more, and shall inherite euerlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
30 Mutta monta ensimäistä tulee viimeiseksi ja viimeistä ensimäiseksi.
But many that are first, shalbe last, and the last shalbe first.
