< Yosua 1 >

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spoke unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 Matsɔ teƒe sia teƒe si miaɖo afɔe la ana mi abe ale si medo ŋugbee na Mose ene.
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
5 Le wò agbemeŋkekewo katã me la, ame aɖeke mate ŋu anɔ te ɖe nuwò o, elabena manɔ kpli wò abe ale si menɔ kple Mose ene. Nyemagblẽ wò ɖi alo aɖe asi le ŋuwò o.
There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.
6 “Lé dzi ɖe ƒo, eye nàwɔ kalẽ, elabena wòe akplɔ nye amewo woaxɔ anyigba si ŋuti meka atam ɖo na mia fofowo be matsɔ na wo abe domenyinu ene.
Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give them.
Only be you strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper anywhere you go.
Ekema dzɔgbenyui kple dzidzedze anɔ wò mɔ dzi.
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
9 Ɖe nyemede se na wò be nàse ŋu, eye nàlé dzi ɖe ƒo oa? Ŋɔ megadzi wò o, eye dzi hã megaɖe le ƒowò o, elabena Yehowa, wò Mawu la anɔ kpli wò le afi sia afi si nàyi.”
Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you anywhere you go.
10 Azɔ Yosua gblɔ na aʋakplɔlawo be,
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 “Mizɔ to asaɖa la me, eye miagblɔ na ameawo be, ‘Midzra miaƒe nuwo ɖo, elabena le ŋkeke etɔ̃ megbe la, miatso Yɔdan tɔsisi la ayi aɖaxɔ anyigba si Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu la le mia nam be wòanye mia tɔ.’”
Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days all of you shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God gives you to possess it.
12 Yosua gblɔ na Ruben ƒe viwo, Gad ƒe viwo kple Manase ƒe viwo ƒe to ƒe afã bena,
And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spoke Joshua, saying,
13 “Miɖo ŋku nya si Mose, Yehowa ƒe dɔla gblɔ na mi la dzi. Egblɔ na mi be, ‘Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu la na anyigba mi le afi sia, le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo,
Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God has given you rest, and has given you this land.
14 eya ta mia srɔ̃wo kple mia viwo kple miaƒe lãwo atsi afi sia. Ke ele na miaƒe aʋawɔlawo be woabla akpa, akplɔ ame bubuawo atso tɔsisi lae, akpe ɖe wo ŋu be, woaxɔ anyigba si le tɔsisi la godo.
Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but all of you shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
15 Le esia megbe hafi miate ŋu ava nɔ afi sia, le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo.’”
Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he has given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God gives them: then all of you shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD's servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
16 Ameawo lɔ̃ ɖe nya sia dzi, eye woka ɖe edzi na Yosua be, “Míawɔ nu sia nu si nàgblɔ na mí, eye míayi afi sia afi si nàɖo mí ɖo la.
And they answered Joshua, saying, All that you command us we will do, and anywhere you send us, we will go.
17 Abe ale si míeɖo to Mose le nu sia nu me ene la, nenema tututu míaɖo to wò hã. Yehowa, wò Mawu la nanɔ kpli wò abe ale si wònɔ kple Mose ene.
According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto you: only the LORD your God be with you, as he was with Moses.
Whosoever he be that does rebel against your commandment, and will not hearken unto your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
