< Petro 2 3 >

1 Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, esia nye nye agbalẽ evelia na mi. Meŋlɔ agbalẽ siawo na mi be woanye ŋkuɖodzinu si ade dzo mia me be miaƒe tamesusuwo nanɔ blibo.
Beloved, this is now the second letter that I have written to you; and in both of them they are reminders to stir up your sincere mind,
so that you will recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command of our Lord and Savior given through your apostles.
3 Gbã la, ele be miase egɔme be le ŋkeke mamlɛawo me la, fewuɖulawo ava, anɔ fewu ɖum, eye woadze woawo ŋutɔ ƒe nudzodzro vɔ̃wo yome.
Know this first, that mockers will come in the last days. They will mock and proceed according to their own desires.
4 Woagblɔ be, “Afi ka eƒe ‘vava’ ƒe ŋugbedodo la le? Elabena tso ɣe aɖe ɣi ke, esi mía fofowo ku la, nu sia nu le edzi yim abe ale si wònɔ le gɔmedzedzea me ene.”
They will say, “Where is the promise of his return? From when our fathers fell asleep, all things have stayed the same, since the beginning of creation.”
5 Ke woɖoe koŋ heŋlɔ be be gbe aɖe gbe ʋĩi ke wotsɔ Mawu ƒe nya wɔ dziƒo, eye wowɔ anyigba tso tsi me kple tsi.
They willfully forget that the heavens and the earth came to exist out of water and through water, long ago, by God's command,
6 To tsi sia ke dzi wotsrɔ̃ xexe si nɔ anyi ɣe ma ɣi le esi woxɔ beble dzi se ta.
and that through these things, the world of that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.
7 To Mawu ƒe nya sia ke dzi wodzra fifi dziƒo kple anyigba ɖo na dzo, eye woɖoe da ɖi na ʋɔnudrɔ̃gbe la kple mawumavɔ̃lawo ƒe tsɔtsrɔ̃.
But now the heavens and the earth are reserved for fire by that same command. They are reserved for the day of judgment and the destruction of the ungodly people.
8 Ke nɔvi lɔlɔ̃wo, migaŋlɔ nu ɖeka sia be o, ŋkeke ɖeka le Aƒetɔ la gbɔ le abe ƒe akpe ɖeka ene, eye nenema ke ƒe akpe ɖeka le abe ŋkeke ɖeka ene.
It should not escape your notice, beloved, that one day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
9 Aƒetɔ la mele wɔwɔm blewublewu le eƒe ŋugbedodo la me abe ale si ame aɖewo se blewu gɔmee ene o. Egbɔ dzi ɖi na mi, elabena medi be ame aɖeke natsrɔ̃ o, ke boŋ be amewo katã natrɔ dzi me.
The Lord does not move slowly concerning his promises, as some consider slowness to be. Instead, he is patient toward you. He does not desire for any of you to perish, but for everyone to make room for repentance.
10 Ke Aƒetɔ ƒe ŋkeke la ava abe fiafitɔ ene. Dziƒowo nu ava yi kple gbeɖeɖe gã aɖe, woatsrɔ̃ gɔmeɖonuwo kple dzo, eye anyigba kple edzinuwo katã abi keŋkeŋ.
However, the day of the Lord will come as a thief: The heavens will pass away with a loud noise. The elements will be burned with fire, and the earth and the deeds in it will be revealed.
11 Esi woatsrɔ̃ nu sia nu alea la, ame ka ƒomeviwo wòle be mianye? Ele be mianɔ agbe le kɔkɔenyenye kple mawuvɔvɔ̃ me,
Since all these things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? You should live holy and godly lives.
You should expect and hasten the coming of the day of God. On that day, the heavens will be destroyed by fire, and the elements will be melted in great heat.
13 Ke le eƒe ŋugbedodo la nu, míele mɔ kpɔm na dziƒo yeye kple anyigba yeye, afi si anye dzɔdzɔenyenyeteƒe la.
But according to his promise, we are waiting for the new heavens and the new earth, where righteousness will dwell.
14 Eya ta nɔvi lɔlɔ̃wo, esi miele mɔ kpɔm na esia la, miɖe afɔ ɖe sia ɖe si miate ŋui la, be woakpɔ mi ɖimaƒomaƒoe, mokakamanɔŋutɔe, eye mianɔ ŋutifafa me kplii.
Therefore, beloved, since you expect these things, do your best to be found spotless and blameless before him, in peace.
15 Nenɔ susu me na mi be míaƒe Aƒetɔ la ƒe dzigbɔɖi nye miaƒe ɖeɖe, abe ale si mía nɔvi lɔlɔ̃ Paulo ŋlɔ na mi kple nunya si Mawu nɛ la ene.
Also, consider the patience of our Lord to be salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom that was given to him.
16 Eŋlɔ nu siawo ɖe eƒe agbalẽwo katã me, eye wòƒoa nu tso nu siawo katã ŋu. Nanewo le eƒe agbalẽawo me siwo ƒe gɔmesese sesẽ, esi ame manyanuwo kple ame malikewo blua afɔ na, abe ale si wowɔna na mawunya bubuwo hã ene, hena woawo ŋutɔ ƒe tsɔtsrɔ̃.
Paul speaks of these things in all his letters, in which there are things that are difficult to understand. Ignorant and unstable men distort these things, as they also do the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
17 Eya ta nɔvi lɔlɔ̃wo, esi mienya esia xoxo la, minɔ ŋudzɔ be sedzimawɔlawo ƒe nu tovo wɔwɔ makplɔ mi adzoe, be miage le teƒe si mieli ke ɖo la o.
Therefore, beloved, since you know about these things beforehand, guard yourselves so that you are not led astray by the deceit of lawless people and you lose your own faithfulness.
18 Ke mitsi le amenuveve kple sidzedze míaƒe Aƒetɔ kple Ɖela Yesu Kristo me. Eya ko tɔ anye ŋutikɔkɔe tso fifia yi ɖe mavɔmavɔ me! Amen. (aiōn g165)
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May the glory be to him both now and forever. Amen! (aiōn g165)
