Ijob 10

1 Tedis al mia animo mia vivo; Mi fordonos min al mia plendado; Mi parolos en la malĝojeco de mia animo.

My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

2 Mi diros al Dio: Ne kondamnu min, Sciigu al mi, pro kio Vi malpacas kontraŭ mi.

I will say to God, Do not condemn me; show me why thou contendest with me.

3 Ĉu Vi trovas tion bona, ke Vi turmentas, Ke Vi forpuŝas la laboritaĵon de Viaj manoj, Sendas brilon sur la entreprenon de malpiuloj?

Is it good to thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thy hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

4 Ĉu Vi havas okulojn karnajn, Kaj ĉu Vi rigardas, kiel homo rigardas?

Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?

5 Ĉu Viaj tagoj estas kiel la tagoj de homo, Aŭ ĉu Viaj jaroj estas kiel la vivtempo de homo,

Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man’s days,

6 Ke Vi serĉas mian kulpon Kaj penas trovi mian pekon,

That thou enquirest after my iniquity, and searchest after my sin?

7 Kvankam Vi scias, ke mi ne estas malbonagulo, Sed el Via mano neniu povas savi?

Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thy hand.

8 Viaj manoj min formis kaj faris min tutan ĉirkaŭe, Kaj tamen Vi min pereigas!

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me in all my parts; yet thou dost destroy me.

9 Rememoru, ke kiel argilon Vi min prilaboris; Kaj Vi returne faros min polvo.

Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

10 Vi elverŝis ja min kiel lakton, Kaj kiel fromaĝon Vi min kundensigis.

Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?

11 Per haŭto kaj karno Vi min vestis, Per ostoj kaj tendenoj Vi min plektis.

Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

12 Vivon kaj bonon Vi donis al mi, Kaj Via prizorgado gardis mian spiriton.

Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy care hath preserved my spirit.

13 Sed ĉi tion Vi kaŝis en Via koro; Mi scias, ke Vi tion intencis:

And these things hast thou hid in thy heart: I know that this is with thee.

14 Se mi pekos, Vi tion rimarkos sur mi, Kaj mian pekon Vi ne lasos senpuna.

If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from my iniquity.

15 Se mi agis malbone, ve al mi! Se mi estas prava, mi ne povas tamen levi mian kapon, Estante tute humiligita Kaj vidante mian mizeron.

If I be wicked, woe to me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou my affliction;

16 Se ĝi leviĝas, Vi ĉasas min kiel leono, Kaj denove montras sur mi Vian mirindan potencon.

For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou showest thyself marvellous upon me.

17 Vi elmetas kontraŭ mi novajn atestojn, Plifortigas Vian koleron kontraŭ mi; Nova armeo min atakas.

Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thy indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.

18 Por kio Vi elirigis min el la ventro? Ho, se mi estus pereinta, ke nenies okulo min vidu!

Why then hast thou brought me forth from the womb? O that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!

19 Tiam mi estus kiel ne estinta; El la ventro mi estus transportita en la tombon.

I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

20 Mia vivo estas ja mallonga; Ĉesu do, lasu min libera, por ke mi iom revigliĝu,

Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

21 Antaŭ ol mi foriros senrevene En la landon de mallumo kaj de morta ombro,

Before I go to the place from which I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;

22 En la landon, kie la lumo estas kiel mallumo, Kie estas morta ombro kaj senordeco, Kie estas lume kiel en mallumego.

A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.
