Galatoj 3

1 Ho malsaĝaj Galatoj, kiu vin ensorĉis? vin, antaŭ kies okuloj Kristo Jesuo estis publike prezentita krucumita.

O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was earlier described among you, crucified?

2 Nur la jenon mi deziras sciiĝi de vi: Ĉu per faroj de la leĝo vi ricevis la Spiriton, aŭ per la aŭdado de fido?

I only want to learn this from you. Did ye receive the Spirit from works of law, or from a listening ear of faith?

3 Ĉu vi tiel malsaĝaj estas? komencinte en Spirito, ĉu vi en karno nun perfektiĝas?

Are ye so foolish, having begun in Spirit, are ye now made perfect by flesh?

4 Ĉu vi vane tiom suferis? se ja tio estas vana.

Did ye suffer so many things in vain? If it is indeed in vain.

5 Ĉu do Tiu, kiu donas al vi la Spiriton kaj faras ĉe vi miraklojn, tion faras per faroj de la leĝo, aŭ per la aŭdado de fido?

He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and who works miracles among you, is it from works of law or from a listening ear of faith?

6 Tiel same, kiel Abraham kredis al Dio, kaj tio estis kalkulita al li kiel virto.

Just as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.

7 Sciu do, ke tiuj, kiuj rilatas al fido, estas filoj de Abraham.

Ye know therefore that those from faith, these are sons of Abraham.

8 Antaŭvidante do, ke per fido Dio pravigos la nacianojn, la Skribo antaŭpredikis la evangelion al Abraham, dirante: Beniĝos per vi ĉiuj gentoj.

And the scripture having foreseen that God makes the Gentiles righteous from faith, proclaimed the good news in advance to Abraham: In thee all the nations will be blessed.

9 Tial do tiuj, kiuj rilatas al fido, beniĝas kun la fidela Abraham.

So then those from faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.

10 Ĉar ĉiuj, kiuj rilatas al faroj de la leĝo, estas sub malbeno; ĉar estas skribite: Malbenita estas ĉiu, kiu ne persistos en ĉio, kio estas skribita en la libro de la leĝo, por plenumi ĝin.

For as many as are from works of law are under a curse, for it is written, Cursed is every man who does not continue in all things written in the book of the law, to do them.

11 Sed ke neniu praviĝas antaŭ Dio per la leĝo, estas evidente; ĉar: La virtulo vivos per fido;

But that no man is made righteous by law before God, is evident, because, The righteous man will live from faith.

12 kaj la leĝo ne rilatas al fido; sed: Kiu plenumas ilin, tiu vivos en ili.

And the law is not from faith, but the man who does them will live in them.

13 Kristo elaĉetis nin el la malbeno de la leĝo, fariĝinte malbeno pro ni; ĉar estas skribite: Malbenita estas ĉiu, kiu pendas sur lignaĵo;

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, Cursed is every man who hangs on a tree.

14 por ke venu sur la nacianojn la beno de Abraham en Kristo Jesuo; por ke per fido ni ricevu la promeson de la Spirito.

So that the blessing of Abraham might occur for the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through the faith.

15 Fratoj, mi parolas laŭ homo: Konfirmitan interligon, eĉ nur homan, neniu nuligas nek prialdonas.

Brothers (I speak according to a man), in the same way of a man, no man annuls or adds to a contract that has been ratified.

16 Sed al Abraham kaj al lia semo la promesoj estis parolitaj. Li ne diras: Kaj al semoj, kvazaŭ pri multaj; sed kvazaŭ unu: Kaj al via semo, kiu estas Kristo.

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, And to the seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to thy seed, who is Christ.

17 Sed jen kion mi diras: Interligon, antaŭe konfirmitan de Dio, la leĝo, kiu venis kvarcent tridek jarojn poste, ne nuligas, tiel ke ĝi malefektivigus la promeson.

And I say this, a covenant previously confirmed by God in Christ, the law, which happened four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul in order to make the promise useless.

18 Ĉar se la heredaĵo estas de la leĝo, ĝi jam ne estas de promeso; sed Dio ĝin donis al Abraham per promeso.

For if the inheritance is from law, it is no longer from promise. But God has given it to Abraham through promise.

19 Kio do estas la leĝo? Ĝi estis aldonita kaŭze de eraroj, ĝis venos la idaro, al kiu la promeso estas donita; ordigite per anĝeloj en la mano de interulo.

Why then the law? It was added on account of transgressions, until the seed would come to whom it was promised, which was arranged through agents in the hand of a mediator.

20 Interulo ne estas de unu, sed Dio estas unu.

Now a mediator is not of one, but God is one.

21 Ĉu do la leĝo kontraŭstaras al la promesoj de Dio? Nepre ne! ĉar se estus donita leĝo, kiu povus vivigi, efektive justeco estus per la leĝo.

Is the law therefore against the promises of God? May it not happen! For if a law was given that could make alive, truly righteousness would be from law.

22 Tamen la Skribo kune enŝlosis ĉion sub peko, por ke la promeso per fido al Kristo Jesuo estu donata al ĉiuj, kiuj fidas.

But scripture confined all things under sin, so that the promise from faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

23 Sed antaŭ ol fido venis, ni estis gardataj sub la leĝo, enŝlositaj por la fido malkaŝota.

But before faith came we were kept in custody under law, having been confined for faith that was going to be revealed.

24 Tial la leĝo fariĝis nia pedagogo, kondukanta al Kristo, por ke ni praviĝu per fido.

So that the law became our schoolmaster for Christ, so that we might be made righteous from faith.

25 Sed nun, post kiam la fido alvenis, ni jam ne estas sub pedagogo.

But faith having come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 Ĉar vi ĉiuj per la fido estas filoj de Dio en Kristo Jesuo.

For ye are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

27 Ĉar ĉiuj el vi, kiuj al Kristo baptiĝis, surmetis al si Kriston.

For as many as were immersed into Christ have put on Christ.

28 Ne estas ja Judo nek Greko, ne estas sklavo nek liberulo, ne estas ja vira kaj virina; ĉar vi ĉiuj estas unu en Kristo Jesuo.

There is no Jew nor Greek, there is no bondman nor freeman, there is no male and female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29 Se do vi apartenas al Kristo, vere vi estas la idaro de Abraham, kaj heredantoj laŭ la promeso.

And if ye are Christ's, then ye are Abraham's seed and heirs according to promise.
