The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

— And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Diphath, and Togarmah.

7 La filoj de Javan: Eliŝa, Tarŝiŝ, Kitim, kaj Dodanim.

And the sons of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Rodanim.

8 La filoj de Ĥam: Kuŝ, Micraim, Put, kaj Kanaan.

The sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim, Phut and Canaan.

9 La filoj de Kuŝ: Seba, Ĥavila, Sabta, Raama, kaj Sabteĥa. La filoj de Raama: Ŝeba kaj Dedan.

— And the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raama, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10 Kuŝ naskigis ankaŭ Nimrodon; ĉi tiu komencis esti potenculo sur la tero.

And Cush begot Nimrod: he began to be mighty on the earth.

11 Micraim naskigis la Ludidojn, la Anamidojn, la Lehabidojn, la Naftuĥidojn,

— And Mizraim begot the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,

12 la Patrusidojn, la Kasluĥidojn (de kiuj devenis la Filiŝtoj), kaj la Kaftoridojn.

and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim out of whom came the Philistines, and the Caphtorim.

13 De Kanaan naskiĝis Cidon, lia unuenaskito, kaj Ĥet,

— And Canaan begot Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,

14 la Jebusidoj, la Amoridoj, la Girgaŝidoj,

and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

15 la Ĥividoj, la Arkidoj, la Sinidoj,

and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

16 la Arvadidoj, la Cemaridoj, la Ĥamatidoj.

and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

17 La filoj de Ŝem: Elam, Aŝur, Arpaĥŝad, Lud, Aram, Uc, Ĥul, Geter, kaj Meŝeĥ.

The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

18 De Arpaĥŝad naskiĝis Ŝelaĥ, de Ŝelaĥ naskiĝis Eber.

— And Arphaxad begot Shelah, and Shelah begot Eber.

19 Al Eber naskiĝis du filoj: la nomo de unu estis Peleg, ĉar en lia tempo estis dividita la tero; la nomo de lia frato estis Joktan.

And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

20 De Joktan naskiĝis Almodad, Ŝelef, Ĥacarmavet, Jeraĥ,

And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

21 Hadoram, Uzal, Dikla,

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

22 Ebal, Abimael, Ŝeba,

and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

23 Ofir, Ĥavila, kaj Jobab. Ĉiuj ĉi tiuj estis la filoj de Joktan.

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were sons of Joktan.

24 Ŝem, Arpaĥŝad, Ŝelaĥ,

Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,

Eber, Peleg, Reu,

26 Serug, Naĥor, Teraĥ,

Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 Abram (tio estas Abraham).

Abram: the same is Abraham.

28 La filoj de Abraham: Isaak kaj Iŝmael.

The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

29 Jen estas ilia genealogio: de Iŝmael, la unuenaskito Nebajot, poste Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam;

30 Miŝma, Duma, Masa, Ĥadad, Tema,

Mishma and Dumah; Massa, Hadad, and Tema;

31 Jetur, Nafiŝ, kaj Kedma. Tio estas la filoj de Iŝmael.

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedmah: those are the sons of Ishmael.

32 La filoj de Ketura, kromvirino de Abraham, kiujn ŝi naskis: Zimran, Jokŝan, Medan, Midjan, Jiŝbak, kaj Ŝuaĥ. Kaj la filoj de Jokŝan estis Ŝeba kaj Dedan.

— And the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

33 La filoj de Midjan: Efa, Efer, Ĥanoĥ, Abida, kaj Eldaa. Ĉiuj ĉi tiuj estis la filoj de Ketura.

And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.

34 Abraham naskigis Isaakon. La filoj de Isaak: Esav kaj Izrael.

And Abraham begot Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

35 La filoj de Esav: Elifaz, Reuel, Jeuŝ, Jalam, kaj Koraĥ.

The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

36 La filoj de Elifaz: Teman, Omar, Cefi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, kaj Amalek.

— The sons of Eliphaz: Teman and Omar, Zephi and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

37 La filoj de Reuel: Naĥat, Zeraĥ, Ŝama, kaj Miza.

The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 La filoj de Seir: Lotan, Ŝobal, Cibeon, Ana, Diŝon, Ecer, kaj Diŝan.

And the sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.

39 La filoj de Lotan: Ĥori kaj Homam; la fratino de Lotan estis Timna.

— And the sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. And Lotan's sister, Timna.

40 La filoj de Ŝobal: Aljan, Manaĥat, Ebal, Ŝefi, kaj Onam. La filoj de Cibeon: Aja kaj Ana.

— The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi and Onam. — And the sons of Zibeon: Ajah and Anah.

41 La filoj de Ana: Diŝon. La filoj de Diŝon: Ĥamran, Eŝban, Jitran, kaj Keran.

— The sons of Anah: Dishon. — And the sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Eshban, and Jithran, and Cheran.

42 La filoj de Ecer: Bilhan, Zaavan, kaj Jaakan. La filoj de Diŝan: Uc kaj Aran.

— The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, [and] Jaakan. — The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43 Jen estas la reĝoj, kiuj reĝis en la lando de Edom, antaŭ ol aperis reĝo ĉe la Izraelidoj: Bela, filo de Beor; la nomo de lia urbo estis Dinhaba.

And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before there reigned a king over the children of Israel: — Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44 Kaj Bela mortis, kaj anstataŭ li ekreĝis Jobab, filo de Zeraĥ, el Bocra.

And Bela died; and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

45 Kaj Joab mortis, kaj anstataŭ li ekreĝis Ĥuŝam, el la lando de la Temanidoj.

And Jobab died; and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

46 Kaj Ĥuŝam mortis, kaj anstataŭ li ekreĝis Hadad, filo de Bedad, kiu venkobatis la Midjanidojn sur la kampo de Moab; la nomo de lia urbo estis Avit.

And Husham died; and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the fields of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

47 Kaj Hadad mortis, kaj anstataŭ li ekreĝis Samla el Masreka.

And Hadad died; and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

48 Kaj Samla mortis, kaj anstataŭ li ekreĝis Ŝaul el Reĥobot ĉe la Rivero.

And Samlah died; and Saul of Rehoboth on the river reigned in his stead.

49 Kaj Ŝaul mortis, kaj anstataŭ li ekreĝis Baal-Ĥanan, filo de Aĥbor.

And Saul died; and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

50 Kaj Baal-Ĥanan mortis, kaj anstataŭ li ekreĝis Hadad; la nomo de lia urbo estis Pai; la nomo de lia edzino estis Mehetabel, filino de Matred, filino de Me-Zahab.

And Baal-hanan died; and Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.

51 Kaj Hadad mortis. Tiam la ĉefoj de Edom estis: ĉefo Timna, ĉefo Alva, ĉefo Jetet,

And Hadad died. And the chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,

52 ĉefo Oholibama, ĉefo Ela, ĉefo Pinon,

chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

53 ĉefo Kenaz, ĉefo Teman, ĉefo Mibcar,

chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

54 ĉefo Magdiel, ĉefo Iram. Tio estas la ĉefoj de Edom.

chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.
