Psalms 82

1 — A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.

Ein Lied, von Asaph. - Zum Gottesrat begibt sich Gott, Gericht bei Göttern abzuhalten:

2 Till when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? (Selah)

"Wie lange wollt ihr noch das Recht verdrehen, für Schuldige Partei ergreifen? (Sela)

3 Judge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.

Den Armen und den Waisen schaffet Recht! Verteidigt den Geringen und den Dürftigen!

4 Let the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.

Errettet Niedrige und Arme! Befreit sie aus der Frevler Hand!

5 They knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.

Sie achten's nicht, verständnislos; im Finstern wandeln sie umher; des Landes Stützen wanken all.

6 I — I have said, 'Gods ye [are], And sons of the Most High — all of you,

Ich habe zwar gesprochen: "Ihr seid Götter, ihr des Höchsten Söhne all.'

7 But as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,

Jedoch wie andere Menschen sollt ihr sterben, wie andere Fürsten niedersinken!" -

8 Rise, O God, judge the earth, For Thou hast inheritance among all the nations!

Auf, Gott! Der Erde halte ihr Gericht! Du bist der Erbherr aller Heidenvölker.
