Psalms 47

1 To the Overseer. — By sons of Korah. A Psalm. All ye peoples, clap the hand, Shout to God with a voice of singing,

Au maître chantre. Des fils de Coré. Cantique. Vous tous les peuples, battez des mains! éclatez pour Dieu en acclamations!

2 For Jehovah Most High [is] fearful, A great king over all the earth.

Car l'Éternel, le Très-haut, est digne de crainte, Il est le grand Roi de toute la terre.

3 He leadeth peoples under us, and nations under our feet.

Il a rangé des peuples sous nos lois, et mis des nations sous nos pieds;

4 He doth choose for us our inheritance, The excellency of Jacob that He loves. (Selah)

Il nous a choisi lui-même notre héritage, orgueil de Jacob qu'il aime. (Pause)

5 God hath gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet.

Dieu arrive avec des acclamations, et l'Éternel s'avance au son de la trompette.

6 Praise God — praise — give praise to our king, praise.

Chantez l'Éternel, chantez! Chantez à notre Roi, chantez!

7 For king of all the earth [is] God, Give praise, O understanding one.

Car Dieu est Roi de toute la terre: chantez-lui des hymnes!

8 God hath reigned over nations, God hath sat on His holy throne,

Dieu règne sur les peuples; Dieu est assis sur son trône saint.

9 Nobles of peoples have been gathered, [With] the people of the God of Abraham, For to God [are] the shields of earth, Greatly hath He been exalted!

Les princes des peuples se réunissent au peuple du Dieu d'Abraham; car les boucliers de la terre sont à Dieu, Il est souverainement élevé.
