Psalms 28

1 By David. Unto Thee, O Jehovah, I call, My rock, be not silent to me! Lest Thou be silent to me, And I have been compared With those going down to the pit.

De David. Éternel, je t'invoque! Mon rocher! ne sois point sourd à mes cris, de peur que, si pour moi tu ne romps le silence, je ne ressemble à l'homme descendu au tombeau!

2 Hear the voice of my supplications, In my crying unto Thee, In my lifting up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

Ecoute ma voix suppliante, car je t'implore, et je tends mes mains vers le sanctuaire de ton saint lieu!

3 Draw me not with the wicked, And with workers of iniquity, Speaking peace with their neighbours, And evil in their heart.

Ne m'emporte pas avec les impies, et avec ceux qui font le mal, qui parlent de paix à leur prochain, en ayant la malice dans le cœur.

4 Give to them according to their acting, And according to the evil of their doings. According to the work of their hands give to them. Return their deed to them.

Donne-leur le salaire dû à leurs œuvres et à la méchanceté de leurs actions; rends-leur selon l'ouvrage de leurs mains, en retour fais-leur ce qu'ils ont fait!

5 For they attend not to the doing of Jehovah, And unto the work of His hands. He throweth them down, And doth not build them up.

Car ils ne prennent point garde aux actes de l'Éternel, ni à l'œuvre de ses mains: qu'il les détruise, et ne les relève pas!

6 Blessed [is] Jehovah, For He hath heard the voice of my supplications.

Béni soit l'Éternel, car Il écoute ma voix suppliante!

7 Jehovah [is] my strength, and my shield, In Him my heart trusted, and I have been helped. And my heart exulteth, And with my song I thank Him.

L'Éternel est ma force et mon bouclier. En lui mon cœur se confie; et je suis secouru, et mon cœur se réjouit, et par mes chants je veux le célébrer.

8 Jehovah [is] strength to him, Yea, the strength of the salvation of His anointed [is] He.

L'Éternel est le soutien de son peuple, et le rempart et le secours de son Oint.

9 Save Thy people, and bless Thine inheritance, And feed them, and carry them to the age!

Sauve ton peuple, et bénis ton héritage; sois son pasteur, et le maintiens à jamais.
