Leviticus 12
1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
2 'Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, A woman when she giveth seed, and hath born a male, then she hath been unclean seven days, according to the days of separation for her sickness she is unclean;
"Parle ainsi aux enfants d’Israël: lorsqu’une femme, ayant conçu, enfantera un mâle, elle sera impure durant sept jours, comme lorsqu’elle est isolée à cause de sa souffrance.
3 and in the eighth day is the flesh of his foreskin circumcised;
Au huitième jour, on circoncira l’excroissance de l’enfant.
4 and thirty and three days she doth abide in the blood of her cleansing; against any holy thing she doth not come, and unto the sanctuary she doth not go in, till the fulness of the days of her cleansing.
Puis, trente-trois jours durant, la femme restera dans le sang de purification: elle ne touchera à rien de consacré, elle n’entrera point dans le saint lieu, que les jours de sa purification ne soient accomplis.
5 'And if a female she bear, then she hath been unclean two weeks, as in her separation; and sixty and six days she doth abide for the blood of her cleansing.
Si c’est une fille qu’elle met au monde, elle sera impure deux semaines, comme lors de son isolement; puis, durant soixante-six jours, elle restera dans le sang de purification.
6 'And in the fulness of the days of her cleansing for son or for daughter she doth bring in a lamb, a son of a year, for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon or a turtle-dove for a sin-offering, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, unto the priest;
Quand sera accompli le temps de sa purification, pour un garçon ou pour une fille, elle apportera un agneau d’un an comme holocauste, et une jeune colombe ou une tourterelle comme expiatoire, à l’entrée de la Tente d’assignation, et les remettra au pontife.
7 and he hath brought it near before Jehovah, and hath made atonement for her, and she hath been cleansed from the fountain of her blood; this [is] the law of her who is bearing, in regard to a male or to a female.
Celui-ci les offrira devant le Seigneur, fera expiation pour elle, et elle sera purifiée du flux de son sang. Telle est la règle de la femme qui enfante, qu’il s’agisse d’un garçon ou qu’il s’agisse d’une fille.
8 'And if her hand find not the sufficiency of a sheep, then she hath taken two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, one for a burnt-offering, and one for a sin-offering, and the priest hath made atonement for her, and she hath been cleansed.'
Si ses moyens ne lui permettent pas d’offrir un agneau, elle prendra deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes colombes, l’une pour holocauste, l’autre pour expiatoire; et le pontife fera expiation pour elle, et elle sera purifiée."
