Jonah 2
1 And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish.
Alors Jonas fit une prière à l'Éternel son Dieu, dans le corps du poisson, et il dit:
2 And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
Dans mon angoisse j'invoque l'Éternel et Il m'exauce; du sein des Enfers je crie, tu, entends ma voix. (Sheol h7585)
3 When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me.
Tu me jettes dans l'abîme, au cœur de la mer, et les flots m'environnent, toutes tes vagues et tes ondes passent sur moi.
4 And I — I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!)
Mais je dis: Je suis repoussé loin de ton regard! Cependant je reverrai ton saint temple!
5 Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head.
Les eaux pénètrent jusques à mon âme, l'abîme m'enserre, l'algue s'attache à ma tête.
6 To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God.
Jusqu'à la base des montagnes je suis descendu, les barrières de la terre se sont fermées derrière moi pour toujours; et tu retires ma vie du tombeau, Éternel, mon Dieu!
7 In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple.
Quand en moi-même mon âme est défaillante, je me souviens de l'Éternel, et ma, prière parvient jusqu'à toi, jusqu'à ton saint temple.
8 Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake.
Les adorateurs des vanités, du néant, abandonnent leur bienfaiteur;
9 And I — with a voice of thanksgiving — I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah.
mais moi, je veux avec chants de louanges t'offrir des sacrifices et accomplir les vœux que j'ai faits. Le salut vient de l'Éternel!
10 And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land.
Et l'Éternel commanda au poisson, et il vomit Jonas sur la terre.
