John 17
1 These things spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to the heaven, and said — 'Father, the hour hath come, glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify Thee,
Jesús dijo estas cosas y, levantando los ojos al cielo, dijo: “Padre, ha llegado el momento. Glorifica a tu Hijo, para que tu Hijo también te glorifique a ti;
2 according as Thou didst give to him authority over all flesh, that — all that Thou hast given to him — he may give to them life age-during; (aiōnios g166)
así como le diste autoridad sobre toda carne, así dará vida eterna a todos los que le has dado. (aiōnios g166)
3 and this is the life age-during, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and him whom Thou didst send — Jesus Christ; (aiōnios g166)
Esta es la vida eterna: que te conozcan a ti, el único Dios verdadero, y al que has enviado, Jesucristo. (aiōnios g166)
4 I did glorify Thee on the earth, the work I did finish that Thou hast given me, that I may do [it].
Yo te he glorificado en la tierra. He cumplido la obra que me has encomendado.
5 'And now, glorify me, Thou Father, with Thyself, with the glory that I had before the world was, with Thee;
Ahora, Padre, glorifícame tú mismo con la gloria que tenía contigo antes de que el mundo existiera.
6 I did manifest Thy name to the men whom Thou hast given to me out of the world; Thine they were, and to me Thou hast given them, and Thy word they have kept;
“He revelado tu nombre al pueblo que me has dado fuera del mundo. Eran tuyos y me los has dado. Ellos han cumplido tu palabra.
7 now they have known that all things, as many as Thou hast given to me, are from Thee,
Ahora han sabido que todas las cosas que me has dado vienen de ti,
8 because the sayings that Thou hast given to me, I have given to them, and they themselves received, and have known truly, that from Thee I came forth, and they did believe that Thou didst send me.
porque las palabras que me has dado se las he dado a ellos; y las han recibido, y han sabido con certeza que vengo de ti. Han creído que tú me has enviado.
9 'I ask in regard to them; not in regard to the world do I ask, but in regard to those whom Thou hast given to me, because Thine they are,
Yo rezo por ellos. No ruego por el mundo, sino por los que me has dado, porque son tuyos.
10 and all mine are Thine, and Thine [are] mine, and I have been glorified in them;
Todas las cosas que son mías son tuyas, y las tuyas son mías, y yo soy glorificado en ellas.
11 and no more am I in the world, and these are in the world, and I come unto Thee. Holy Father, keep them in Thy name, whom Thou hast given to me, that they may be one as we;
Yo ya no estoy en el mundo, pero éstos están en el mundo, y yo voy a ti. Padre santo, guárdalos por tu nombre que me has dado, para que sean uno, como nosotros.
12 when I was with them in the world, I was keeping them in Thy name; those whom Thou hast given to me I did guard, and none of them was destroyed, except the son of the destruction, that the Writing may be fulfilled.
Mientras estuve con ellos en el mundo, los guardé en tu nombre. He guardado a los que me has dado. Ninguno de ellos se ha perdido, sino el hijo de la destrucción, para que se cumpla la Escritura.
13 'And now unto Thee I come, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves;
Pero ahora vengo a ti, y digo estas cosas en el mundo, para que tengan mi gozo pleno en ellos.
14 I have given to them Thy word, and the world did hate them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world;
Les he dado tu palabra. El mundo los ha odiado porque no son del mundo, así como yo no soy del mundo.
15 I do not ask that Thou mayest take them out of the world, but that Thou mayest keep them out of the evil.
No ruego que los quites del mundo, sino que los guardes del maligno.
16 'Of the world they are not, as I of the world am not;
No son del mundo, como tampoco yo soy del mundo.
17 sanctify them in Thy truth, Thy word is truth;
Santifícalos en tu verdad. Tu palabra es la verdad.
18 as Thou didst send me to the world, I also did send them to the world;
Como me enviaste al mundo, así los he enviado yo al mundo.
19 and for them do I sanctify myself, that they also themselves may be sanctified in truth.
Por ellos me santifico, para que ellos también sean santificados en la verdad.
20 'And not in regard to these alone do I ask, but also in regard to those who shall be believing, through their word, in me;
“No ruego sólo por éstos, sino también por los que crean en mí por medio de su palabra,
21 that they all may be one, as Thou Father [art] in me, and I in Thee; that they also in us may be one, that the world may believe that Thou didst send me.
para que todos sean uno, como tú, Padre, estás en mí, y yo en ti, para que también ellos sean uno en nosotros; para que el mundo crea que tú me has enviado.
22 'And I, the glory that thou hast given to me, have given to them, that they may be one as we are one;
La gloria que me has dado, yo se la he dado a ellos, para que sean uno, como nosotros somos uno,
23 I in them, and Thou in me, that they may be perfected into one, and that the world may know that Thou didst send me, and didst love them as Thou didst love me.
yo en ellos y tú en mí, para que se perfeccionen en uno, para que el mundo sepa que tú me has enviado y que los has amado, como a mí.
24 'Father, those whom Thou hast given to me, I will that where I am they also may be with me, that they may behold my glory that Thou didst give to me, because Thou didst love me before the foundation of the world.
Padre, quiero que también los que me has dado estén conmigo donde yo estoy, para que vean mi gloria que me has dado, porque me has amado antes de la fundación del mundo.
25 'Righteous Father, also the world did not know Thee, and I knew Thee, and these have known that Thou didst send me,
Padre justo, el mundo no te ha conocido, pero yo te he conocido, y éstos han sabido que tú me has enviado.
26 and I made known to them Thy name, and will make known, that the love with which Thou lovedst me in them may be, and I in them.'
Yoles he dado a conocer tu nombre, y lo daré a conocer, para que el amor con que me has amado esté en ellos, y yo en ellos.”
