Job 15
1 And Eliphaz the Temanite answereth and saith: —
Dia namaly Elifaza Temanita ka nanao hoe:
2 Doth a wise man answer [with] vain knowledge? And fill [with] an east wind his belly?
Tokony handahatra hevi-dravina va ny olon-kendry, ka hameno ny kibony amin’ ny rivotra avy any atsinanana va,
3 To reason with a word not useful? And speeches — no profit in them?
Ary hamaly amin’ ny teny tsy mahasoa sy ny teny tsy mahatsara?
4 Yea, thou dost make reverence void, And dost diminish meditation before God.
Eny, foananao ny fahatahorana an’ Andriamanitra, ary tampenanao ny fivavahana eo anatrehany;
5 For thy mouth teacheth thine iniquity, And thou chooseth the tongue of the subtile.
Fa ny helokao no manesika ny vavanao, ary mianatra ny lelan’ ny fetsy ianao.
6 Thy mouth declareth thee wicked, and not I, And thy lips testify against thee.
Ny vavanao ihany no manameloka anao, fa tsy izaho; Ary ny molotrao ihany no mamely anao.
7 The first man art thou born? And before the heights wast thou formed?
Hianao va no voalohany izay nateraka ho olombelona? Na naloaky ny kibo talohan’ ny tendrombohitra va ianao?
8 Of the secret counsel of God dost thou hear? And withdrawest thou unto thee wisdom?
Isan’ ny mpihevitra teo amin’ Andriamanitra va ianao, ka voarombakao ho anao irery ny fahendrena?
9 What hast thou known, and we know not? Understandest thou — and it is not with us?
Inona no fantatrao, ka tsy mba fantatray koa, na saina azonao, ka tsy ato aminay koa?
10 Both the gray-headed And the very aged [are] among us — Greater than thy father [in] days.
Ny anti-panahy sy ny fotsy volo dia misy ato aminay, eny, olona ela niainana noho ny rainao aza.
11 Too few for thee are the comforts of God? And a gentle word [is] with thee,
Ataonao ho tsinontsinona va ny fampiononana avy amin’ Andriamanitra sy ny teny natao aminao amin’ ny fahalemem-panahy?
12 What — doth thine heart take thee away? And what — are thine eyes high?
Nahoana no dia entin’ ny fonao ianao? Ary nahoana no mipipy foana ny masonao,
13 For thou turnest against God thy spirit? And hast brought out words from thy mouth:
Ka miefonefona amin’ Andriamanitra ianao, sady miteniteny foana ny vavanao?
14 What [is] man that he is pure, And that he is righteous, one born of woman?
Inona ny zanak’ olombelona no mba hadio izy? Ary izay tera-behivavy no mba ho marina?
15 Lo, in His holy ones He putteth no credence, And the heavens have not been pure in His eyes.
Indro, ireo anjeliny aza tsy mahatoky Azy, ary ny lanitra aza tsy madio eo imasony;
16 Also — surely abominable and filthy Is man drinking as water perverseness.
Koa mainka fa izay vetaveta sy tena ratsy, dia ny olona izay misotro heloka toa rano!
17 I shew thee — hearken to me — And this I have seen and declare:
Hanambara aminao aho, ka mihainoa ahy fa izay efa hitako no holazaiko,
18 Which the wise declare — And have not hid — from their fathers.
Dia zavatra notorin’ ny olon-kendry, fa tsy nafeniny, dia izay azony avy tamin’ ny razany;
19 To them alone was the land given, And a stranger passed not over into their midst:
Ireny ihany no nomena ny tany, ary tsy nisy olona hafa firenena nisisika teo aminy.
20 'All days of the wicked he is paining himself, And few years have been laid up for the terrible one.
Ny ratsy fanahy mijalijaly amin’ ny androny rehetra, dia amin’ ny taona rehetra voatendry ho an’ ny lozabe.
21 A fearful voice [is] in his ears, In peace doth a destroyer come to him.
Feo mampitahotra no ren’ ny sofiny; Ary na dia miadana aza izy, dia avy hamely azy ihany ny mpandroba.
22 He believeth not to return from darkness, And watched [is] he for the sword.
Tsy manantena ho afaka amin’ ny maizina izy; Andrasan’ ny sabatra izy.
23 He is wandering for bread — 'Where [is] it?' He hath known that ready at his hand Is a day of darkness.
Mirenireny hitady izay hohaniny izy ka manao hoe: Aiza re? Fantany fa antomotra azy ny andro maizina.
24 Terrify him do adversity and distress, They prevail over him As a king ready for a boaster.
Fahoriana sy fahaporitana no mampitahotra azy; Mandresy azy ireo tahaka ny mpanjaka efa vonona ho amin’ ny ady,
25 For he stretched out against God his hand, And against the Mighty he maketh himself mighty.
Satria naninjitra ny tanany hanohitra an’ Andriamanitra izy Ary nirehareha hanohitra ny Tsitoha.
26 He runneth unto Him with a neck, With thick bosses of his shields.
Mimaona amin’ ny fahamafian-katoka hamely Azy izy, dia amin’ ny foitran’ ampingany matevina,
27 For he hath covered his face with his fat, And maketh vigour over [his] confidence.
Satria efa matavitavy tarehy izy, ary mivalon-kotraka ny valahany;
28 And he inhabiteth cities cut off, houses not dwelt in, That have been ready to become heaps.
Ary monina ao an-tanana rava izy, dia ao an-trano tokony tsy hitoeran’ olona, izay efa voatendry ho korontam-bato.
29 He is not rich, nor doth his wealth rise, Nor doth he stretch out on earth their continuance.
Tsy hanan-karena izy, sady tsy haharitra ny heriny, ka tsy ho vokatra ambonin’ ny tany ny fananany.
30 He turneth not aside from darkness, His tender branch doth a flame dry up, And he turneth aside at the breath of His mouth!
Tsy ho afaka amin’ ny maizina izy; ny solofony hikainkona azon’ ny lelafo; ho levon’ ny fofonain’ Andriamanitra izy.
31 Let him not put credence in vanity, He hath been deceived, For vanity is his recompence.
Aoka tsy ho voafitaka hatoky zava-poana izy; fa zava-poana no ho valiny homena azy.
32 Not in his day is it completed, And his bending branch is not green.
Raha mbola tsy tonga aza ny androny, dia manjo azy izany, ary tsy ho maitso ny sampany.
33 He shaketh off as a vine his unripe fruit, And casteth off as an olive his blossom.
Ho tahaka ny voaloboka manintsana ny voany manta izy ary ho tahaka ny hazo oliva mampiraraka ny voniny.
34 For the company of the profane [is] gloomy, And fire hath consumed tents of bribery.
Fa tsy ho vanona ny ankohonan’ ny mpihatsaravelatsihy, ary ho lanin’ ny afo ny tranon’ ny mpitoroka.
35 To conceive misery, and to bear iniquity, Even their heart doth prepare deceit.
Torontoronina fampahoriana izy ka miteraka fandozana, ary ny kibony mamorom-pitaka.
