Jeremiah 1
1 Words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, of the priests who [are] in Anathoth, in the land of Benjamin,
௧பென்யமீன் தேசத்திலுள்ள ஆனதோத் ஊரிலிருந்த ஆசாரியர்களில் ஒருவனாகிய இல்க்கியாவின் மகன் எரேமியாவினுடைய வசனங்கள்:
2 unto whom the word of Jehovah hath been in the days of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,
௨ஆமோனுடைய மகனாகிய யோசியா என்கிற யூதாவுடைய ராஜாவின் நாட்களில், அவன் அரசாண்ட பதின்மூன்றாம் வருடத்தில் எரேமியாவுக்குக் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை உண்டானது.
3 and it is in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, till the completion of the eleventh year of Zedekiah son of Josiah, king of Judah, till the removal of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
௩அப்புறம் யோசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்கிற யூதாவுடைய ராஜாவின் அரசாட்சியின் நாட்களிலும், யோசியாவின் மகனாகிய சிதேக்கியா என்கிற யூதாவுடைய ராஜாவின் பதினோராம் வருடத்து முடிவுவரையும், எருசலேம் ஊரார் ஐந்தாம் மாதத்தில் சிறைப்பட்டுப் போகும்வரைக்கும் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு உண்டானது.
4 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
௪யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்:
5 'Before I form thee in the belly, I have known thee; and before thou comest forth from the womb I have separated thee, a prophet to nations I have made thee.'
௫நான் உன்னைத் தாயின் வயிற்றில் உருவாக்குவதற்கு முன்னே உன்னை அறிந்தேன்; நீ கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து வெளிப்படுமுன்னே நான் உன்னைப் பரிசுத்தம்செய்து, உன்னை தேசங்களுக்குத் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகக் கட்டளையிட்டேன் என்று சொன்னார்.
6 And I say, 'Ah, Lord Jehovah! lo, I have not known — to speak, for I [am] a youth.'
௬அப்பொழுது நான்: ஆ யெகோவாவாகிய ஆண்டவரே, இதோ, நான் பேச அறியேன்; சிறுபிள்ளையாயிருக்கிறேன் என்றேன்.
7 And Jehovah saith unto me, 'Do not say, I [am] a youth, for to all to whom I send thee thou goest, and all that I command thee thou speakest.
௭ஆனாலும் யெகோவா: நான் சிறுபிள்ளையென்று நீ சொல்லாதே, நான் உன்னை அனுப்புகிற எல்லோரிடத்திலும் நீ போய், நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறவைகளையெல்லாம் நீ பேசுவாயாக.
8 Be not afraid of their faces, for with thee [am] I to deliver thee, — an affirmation of Jehovah.'
௮நீ அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; உன்னைக் காப்பதற்கு நான் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லி,
9 And Jehovah putteth forth His hand, and striketh against my mouth, and Jehovah saith unto me, 'Lo, I have put my words in thy mouth.
௯யெகோவா தமது கரத்தை நீட்டி, என் வாயைத் தொட்டு: இதோ, என் வார்த்தைகளை உன் வாயில் வைக்கிறேன்.
10 See, I have charged thee this day concerning the nations, and concerning the kingdoms, to pluck up, and to break down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.'
௧0பார், பிடுங்கவும், இடிக்கவும், அழிக்கவும், கவிழ்க்கவும், கட்டவும், நாட்டவும் உன்னை நான் இன்றையதினம் தேசங்களின்மேலும் ராஜ்யங்களின்மேலும் ஏற்படுத்தினேன் என்று யெகோவா என்னுடனே சொன்னார்.
11 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, 'What art thou seeing, Jeremiah?' And I say, 'A rod of an almond tree I am seeing.'
௧௧பின்னும் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி அவர்: எரேமியாவே, நீ என்னத்தைக் காண்கிறாய் என்று கேட்டார்; வாதுமை மரத்தின் கிளையைக் காண்கிறேன் என்றேன்.
12 And Jehovah saith unto me, 'Thou hast well seen: for I am watching over My word to do it.'
௧௨அப்பொழுது யெகோவா: நீ கண்டது சரியே; என் வார்த்தையைத் துரிதமாக நிறைவேற்றுவேன் என்றார்.
13 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me a second time, saying, 'What art thou seeing?' And I say, 'A blown pot I am seeing, and its face [is] from the north.'
௧௩யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை இரண்டாம்முறை எனக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்: நீ காண்கிறது என்ன என்று கேட்டார்; பொங்குகிற பானையைக் காண்கிறேன், அதின் வாய் வடக்கேயிருந்து நோக்குகிறது என்றேன்.
14 And Jehovah saith unto me, 'From the north is the evil loosed against all inhabitants of the land.
௧௪அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: வடக்கேயிருந்து தீங்கு தேசத்தினுடைய குடிமக்கள் எல்லோர் மேலும் வரும்.
15 For, lo, I am calling for all families of the kingdoms of the north, — an affirmation of Jehovah — and they have come, and put each his throne at the opening of the gates of Jerusalem, and by its walls round about, and by all cities of Judah.
௧௫இதோ, நான் வடதிசை ராஜ்யங்களின் வம்சங்களையெல்லாம் கூப்பிடுவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; அவர்கள் வந்து அவனவன் தன்தன் சிங்காசனத்தை எருசலேமின் ஒலிமுகவாசல்களுக்கும், அதின் சுற்றுமதில்கள் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் விரோதமாகவும், யூதா தேசத்து எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாகவும் வைப்பார்கள்.
16 And I have spoken My judgments with them concerning all their evil, in that they have forsaken Me, and make perfume to other gods, and bow themselves to the works of their own hands.
௧௬அவர்கள் என்னைவிட்டு அந்நிய தெய்வங்களுக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்து, தங்கள் கைகளின் செயலைப் பணிந்துகொண்ட அவர்களுடைய எல்லா தீமைகளுக்காக நான் என் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புகளை அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கூறுவேன்.
17 'And thou, thou dost gird up thy loins, and hast arisen, and spoken unto them all that I command thee: be not affrighted because of them, lest I affright thee before them.
௧௭ஆகையால் நீ உன் அரையைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு நின்று, நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிற அனைத்தையும் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்; நான் உன்னை அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகக் கலங்கச்செய்யாமல், நீ அவர்கள் முகத்திற்கு பயப்படாதிரு.
18 And I, lo, I have given thee this day for a fenced city, and for an iron pillar, and for brazen walls over all the land, to the kings of Judah, to its heads, to its priests, and to the people of the land;
௧௮இதோ, தேசம் முழுவதற்கும், யூதாவின் ராஜாக்களுக்கும், அதின் பிரபுக்களுக்கும், அதின் ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும், தேசத்தின் மக்களுக்கும் எதிராக நான் உன்னை இன்றையதினம் பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணமும், இரும்புத்தூணும், வெண்கல மதிலும் ஆக்கினேன்.
19 and they have fought against thee, and they prevail not against thee; for with thee [am] I, — an affirmation of Jehovah — to deliver thee.
௧௯அவர்கள் உனக்கு விரோதமாகப் போர்செய்வார்கள்; ஆனாலும் உன்னை மேற்கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்; உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு நான் உன்னுடன் இருக்கிறேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
