Jeremiah 16
1 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
Então veio a mim a palavra de Javé, dizendo:
2 Thou dost not take to thee a wife, Nor hast thou sons and daughters in this place.
“Não tomarás esposa, nem terás filhos ou filhas, neste lugar”.
3 For thus said Jehovah, Of the sons and of the daughters who are born in this place, And of their mothers — those bearing them, And of their fathers — those begetting them in this land:
Pois Yahweh diz a respeito dos filhos e das filhas que nascem neste lugar, e a respeito de suas mães que os carregaram, e a respeito de seus pais que se tornaram seus pais nesta terra:
4 Of painful deaths they die, They are not lamented, nor are they buried, For dung on the face of the ground they are, And by sword and by famine are consumed, And their carcase hath been for food To the fowl of the heavens, And to the beast of the earth.
“Eles morrerão de morte grave. Eles não serão lamentados, nem serão enterrados. Eles serão como esterco na superfície do solo. Serão consumidos pela espada e pela fome. Seus cadáveres serão alimento para as aves do céu e para os animais da terra”.
5 For thus said Jehovah: Do not enter the house of a mourning-feast, Nor go to lament nor bemoan for them, For I have removed My peace from this people, An affirmation of Jehovah, The kindness and the mercies.
Para Yahweh diz: “Não entre na casa do luto”. Não vá para lamentar. Não os lamente, pois eu tirei minha paz deste povo”, diz Yahweh, “mesmo amando bondade e terna misericórdia.
6 And died have great and small in this land, They are not buried, and none lament for them, Nor doth any cut himself, nor become bald for them.
Tanto grandes como pequenos morrerão nesta terra”. Eles não serão enterrados. Os homens não lamentarão por eles, não se cortarão, nem se farão carecas por eles”.
7 Nor do they deal out to them for mourning, To comfort him concerning the dead, Nor cause them to drink a cup of consolations For his father and for his mother.
Men não partirá o pão por eles em luto, para confortá-los para os mortos. Os homens não lhes darão o copo de consolo para beber para seu pai ou para sua mãe.
8 A house of banqueting thou dost not enter, To sit with them, to eat and to drink,
“Você não entrará na casa de banquete para sentar-se com eles, comer e beber”.
9 For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Lo, I am causing to cease from this place, Before your eyes, and in your days, The voice of joy, and the voice of rejoicing, The voice of bridegroom and voice of bride.
Para Javé dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel diz: “Eis que farei cessar deste lugar, diante de vossos olhos e em vossos dias, a voz da alegria e a voz da alegria, a voz do noivo e a voz da noiva”.
10 And it hath come to pass when thou declarest to this people all these words, and they have said unto thee, 'For what hath Jehovah spoken against us all this great evil? yea, what [is] our iniquity, and what our sin, that we have sinned against Jehovah our God?'
Acontecerá, quando você disser a este povo todas estas palavras, e eles lhe perguntarem: 'Por que Javé pronunciou todo este grande mal contra nós?' ou 'Qual é a nossa iniqüidade?' ou 'Qual é o nosso pecado que cometemos contra Javé nosso Deus?
11 Then thou hast said unto them: Because that your fathers have forsaken Me, An affirmation of Jehovah, And go after other gods, and serve them, And they bow themselves to them, And Me have forsaken, and My law not kept,
então você lhes dirá: 'Porque seus pais me abandonaram', diz Javé, 'e andaram atrás de outros deuses, os serviram, os adoraram, me abandonaram, e não guardaram minha lei.
12 Ye also have done evil above your fathers, And lo, ye are walking each after the stubbornness of his evil heart, So as not to hearken unto Me.
Vocês fizeram o mal mais do que seus pais, pois eis que cada um de vocês caminha atrás da teimosia de seu coração maligno, para que não me escutem”.
13 And I have cast you from off this land, On to a land that ye have not known, Ye and your fathers, And ye have served there other gods by day and by night, Where I do not give to you grace.
Portanto, eu os expulsarei desta terra para a terra que vocês não conheceram, nem vocês nem seus pais. Lá servireis a outros deuses dia e noite, pois não vos mostrarei nenhum favor'.
14 Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And it is not said any more: 'Jehovah liveth, who brought up The sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,'
“Portanto, eis que vêm os dias”, diz Javé, “que não se dirá mais: 'Como Javé vive, que criou os filhos de Israel fora da terra do Egito';
15 But, 'Jehovah liveth, who brought up The sons of Israel out of the land of the north, And out of all the lands whither He drove them,' And I have brought them back to their land, That I gave to their fathers.
mas, 'Como Javé vive, que criou os filhos de Israel da terra do norte, e de todos os países para onde os havia conduzido'. Vou trazê-los novamente para a terra deles que dei a seus pais”.
16 Lo, I am sending for many fishers, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they have fished them, And after this I send for many hunters, And they have hunted them from off every mountain, And from off every hill, and from holes of the rocks.
“Eis que mandarei chamar muitos pescadores”, diz Javé, “e eles os pescarão”. Depois mandarei chamar muitos caçadores, e eles os caçarão de cada montanha, de cada colina, e das fendas das rochas.
17 For Mine eyes [are] upon all their ways, They have not been hidden from My face, Nor hath their iniquity been concealed from before Mine eyes.
Pois meus olhos estão em todos os seus caminhos. Eles não estão escondidos do meu rosto. Sua iniqüidade não está escondida de meus olhos.
18 And I have recompensed a first — A second time — their iniquity and their sin, Because of their polluting My land, With the carcase of their detestable things, Yea, their abominable things have filled Mine inheritance.
Primeiro vou recompensar sua iniqüidade e seu pecado em dobro, porque poluíram minha terra com as carcaças de suas coisas detestáveis, e encheram minha herança com suas abominações”.
19 O Jehovah, my strength, and my fortress, And my refuge in a day of adversity, Unto Thee nations do come from the ends of earth, And say, Only falsehood did our fathers inherit, Vanity, and none among them is profitable.
Yahweh, minha força, meu refúgio, e meu refúgio no dia da aflição, as nações virão até você dos confins do mundo, e dirá, “Nossos pais não herdaram nada além de mentiras”, vaidade e coisas em que não há lucro.
20 Doth man make for himself gods, And they — no gods?
Se um homem faz para si deuses que ainda não são deuses”?
21 Therefore, lo, I am causing them to know at this time, I cause them to know My hand and My might, And they have known that My name [is] Jehovah!
“Portanto, eis que eu os farei saber, uma vez que eu os farei conhecer minha mão e minha força. Então eles saberão que meu nome é Yahweh”.
