Jeremiah 16

1 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:

യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

2 Thou dost not take to thee a wife, Nor hast thou sons and daughters in this place.

ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു നീ ഭാൎയ്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു; നിനക്കു പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടാകയും അരുതു.

3 For thus said Jehovah, Of the sons and of the daughters who are born in this place, And of their mothers — those bearing them, And of their fathers — those begetting them in this land:

ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു ജനിക്കുന്ന പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും കുറിച്ചും ഈ ദേശത്തു അവരെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന അമ്മമാരെക്കുറിച്ചും അവരെ ജനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അപ്പന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചും യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:

4 Of painful deaths they die, They are not lamented, nor are they buried, For dung on the face of the ground they are, And by sword and by famine are consumed, And their carcase hath been for food To the fowl of the heavens, And to the beast of the earth.

അവർ കൊടിയ വ്യാധികളാൽ മരിക്കും; ആരും അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപം കഴിക്കയോ അവരെ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ അവർ നിലത്തിന്നു വളമായി കിടക്കും; വാളാലും ക്ഷാമത്താലും അവർ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങൾ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കും കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഇരയായിത്തീരും.

5 For thus said Jehovah: Do not enter the house of a mourning-feast, Nor go to lament nor bemoan for them, For I have removed My peace from this people, An affirmation of Jehovah, The kindness and the mercies.

യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നീ ദുഃഖഭവനത്തിൽ ചെല്ലരുതു; വിലപിപ്പാൻ പോകരുതു; അവരോടു സഹതാപം കാണിക്കയും അരുതു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ സമാധാനവും ദയയും കരുണയും ഈ ജനത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

6 And died have great and small in this land, They are not buried, and none lament for them, Nor doth any cut himself, nor become bald for them.

വലിയവരും ചെറിയവരും ഈ ദേശത്തു മരിക്കും; ആരും അവരെ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയില്ല, അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപം കഴിക്കയില്ല, അവരുടെനിമിത്തം മുറിവേല്പിക്കയില്ല, മുൻകഷണ്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുകയുമില്ല.

7 Nor do they deal out to them for mourning, To comfort him concerning the dead, Nor cause them to drink a cup of consolations For his father and for his mother.

മരിച്ചവനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആരും വിലാപത്തിങ്കൽ അവൎക്കു അപ്പം നുറുക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയില്ല; അപ്പനെച്ചൊല്ലിയോ അമ്മയെച്ചൊല്ലിയോ ആരും അവൎക്കു ആശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ പാനപാത്രം കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുക്കയുമില്ല.

8 A house of banqueting thou dost not enter, To sit with them, to eat and to drink,

അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാനും പാനം ചെയ്‌വാനും നീ വിരുന്നുവീട്ടിലേക്കു പോകരുതു.

9 For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Lo, I am causing to cease from this place, Before your eyes, and in your days, The voice of joy, and the voice of rejoicing, The voice of bridegroom and voice of bride.

യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ നാളുകളിൽ ആനന്ദഘോഷവും സന്തോഷധ്വനിയും മണവാളന്റെ സ്വരവും മണവാട്ടിയുടെ സ്വരവും ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും.

10 And it hath come to pass when thou declarest to this people all these words, and they have said unto thee, 'For what hath Jehovah spoken against us all this great evil? yea, what [is] our iniquity, and what our sin, that we have sinned against Jehovah our God?'

നീ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും ഈ ജനത്തോടു അറിയിക്കുമ്പോഴും യഹോവ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായി ഈ വലിയ അനൎത്ഥം ഒക്കെയും കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യം എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്ത പാപം എന്തു എന്നു അവർ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോഴും

11 Then thou hast said unto them: Because that your fathers have forsaken Me, An affirmation of Jehovah, And go after other gods, and serve them, And they bow themselves to them, And Me have forsaken, and My law not kept,

നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എന്നെ ത്യജിച്ചു അന്യദേവന്മാരോടു ചേൎന്നു അവരെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കാതെയിരിക്കയും ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

12 Ye also have done evil above your fathers, And lo, ye are walking each after the stubbornness of his evil heart, So as not to hearken unto Me.

നിങ്ങളോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെക്കാൾ അധികം ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തനും എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാതെ താന്താന്റെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിലെ ശാഠ്യം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നു.

13 And I have cast you from off this land, On to a land that ye have not known, Ye and your fathers, And ye have served there other gods by day and by night, Where I do not give to you grace.

അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഈ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിയാത്ത ഒരു ദേശത്തേക്കു നീക്കിക്കളയും; അവിടെ നിങ്ങൾ രാവും പകലും അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കും; അവിടെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കൃപ കാണിക്കയുമില്ല.

14 Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And it is not said any more: 'Jehovah liveth, who brought up The sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,'

ആകയാൽ, യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു ഇനി പറയാതെ,

15 But, 'Jehovah liveth, who brought up The sons of Israel out of the land of the north, And out of all the lands whither He drove them,' And I have brought them back to their land, That I gave to their fathers.

യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ വടക്കെദേശത്തുനിന്നും താൻ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാൎക്കു കൊടുത്ത ദേശത്തിലേക്കു ഞാൻ അവരെ വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരും.

16 Lo, I am sending for many fishers, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they have fished them, And after this I send for many hunters, And they have hunted them from off every mountain, And from off every hill, and from holes of the rocks.

ഇതാ, ഞാൻ അനേകം മീൻപിടിക്കാരെ വരുത്തും; അവർ അവരെ പിടിക്കും; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ഞാൻ അനേകം നായാട്ടുകാരെ വരുത്തും; അവർ അവരെ എല്ലാമലയിലുംനിന്നും എല്ലാകുന്നിലും നിന്നും പാറപ്പിളൎപ്പുകളിൽനിന്നും നായാടിപ്പിടിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

17 For Mine eyes [are] upon all their ways, They have not been hidden from My face, Nor hath their iniquity been concealed from before Mine eyes.

എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി അവരുടെ എല്ലാവഴികളുടെയും മേൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ എനിക്കു മറഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ അകൃത്യം എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

18 And I have recompensed a first — A second time — their iniquity and their sin, Because of their polluting My land, With the carcase of their detestable things, Yea, their abominable things have filled Mine inheritance.

അവർ എന്റെ ദേശത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളാൽ മലിനമാക്കി എന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ അറെപ്പുകളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ, ഞാൻ ഒന്നാമതു അവരുടെ അകൃത്യത്തിന്നും അവരുടെ പാപത്തിന്നും ഇരിട്ടിച്ചു പകരം ചെയ്യും.

19 O Jehovah, my strength, and my fortress, And my refuge in a day of adversity, Unto Thee nations do come from the ends of earth, And say, Only falsehood did our fathers inherit, Vanity, and none among them is profitable.

എന്റെ ബലവും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും കഷ്ടകാലത്തു എന്റെ ശരണവുമായ യഹോവേ, ജാതികൾ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാൎക്കു അവകാശമായിരുന്നതു മിത്ഥ്യാമൂൎത്തികളായ വെറും ഭോഷ്കു അത്രേ; അവയിൽ പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതു ഒന്നുമില്ല എന്നു പറയും.

20 Doth man make for himself gods, And they — no gods?

തനിക്കു ദേവന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാൻ മനുഷ്യന്നു കഴിയുമോ? എന്നാൽ അവ ദേവന്മാരല്ല.

21 Therefore, lo, I am causing them to know at this time, I cause them to know My hand and My might, And they have known that My name [is] Jehovah!

ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ ഈ പ്രാവശ്യം അവരെ ഒന്നു പഠിപ്പിക്കും; എന്റെ കയ്യും എന്റെ ബലവും ഞാൻ അവരെ ഒന്നു അനുഭവിപ്പിക്കും; എന്റെ നാമം യഹോവ എന്നു അവർ അറിയും.
