Hebrews 7
1 For this Melchisedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who did meet Abraham turning back from the smiting of the kings, and did bless him,
Porque este Melquisedec, rey de Salem, sacerdote del Dios Altísimo, el cual salió al encuentro a Abraham que volvía de la matanza de los reyes, y le bendijo:
2 to whom also a tenth of all did Abraham divide, (first, indeed, being interpreted, 'King of righteousness,' and then also, King of Salem, which is, King of Peace, )
A quien asimismo dio Abraham la décima parte de todo: primeramente el cual ciertamente se interpreta, Rey de justicia; y luego también, Rey de Salem, que es, Rey de paz;
3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, and being made like to the Son of God, doth remain a priest continually.
Sin padre, sin madre, sin genealogía; que ni tiene principio de días, ni fin de vida; mas hecho semejante al Hijo de Dios, se queda sacerdote continuamente.
4 And see how great this one [is], to whom also a tenth Abraham the patriarch did give out of the best of the spoils,
Considerád pues cuán grande fue éste, a quien aun Abraham el patriarca dio la décima de los despojos.
5 and those, indeed, out of the sons of Levi receiving the priesthood, a command have to take tithes from the people according to the law, that is, their brethren, even though they came forth out of the loins of Abraham;
Que ciertamente los que de los hijos de Leví reciben el sacerdocio, tienen mandamiento de tomar diezmos del pueblo según la ley, es a saber, de sus hermanos, aunque también ellos hayan salido de los lomos de Abraham.
6 and he who was not reckoned by genealogy of them, received tithes from Abraham, and him having the promises he hath blessed,
Mas aquel, cuya genealogía no es contada entre ellos, tomó diezmos de Abraham, y bendijo al que tenía las promesas.
7 and apart from all controversy, the less by the better is blessed —
Y sin contradicción alguna lo que es menos es bendito de lo que es mejor.
8 and here, indeed, men who die do receive tithes, and there [he], who is testified to that he was living,
Y aquí ciertamente los hombres mortales toman los diezmos; mas allí, aquel del cual está dado testimonio, que vive.
9 and so to speak, through Abraham even Levi who is receiving tithes, hath paid tithes,
Y (por decirlo así) en Abraham fue diezmado también el mismo Leví que recibe los diezmos;
10 for he was yet in the loins of the father when Melchisedek met him.
Porque aun Leví estaba en los lomos de su padre, cuando Melquisedec salió al encuentro a Abraham.
11 If indeed, then, perfection were through the Levitical priesthood — for the people under it had received law — what further need, according to the order of Melchisedek, for another priest to arise, and not to be called according to the order of Aaron?
Si pues la perfección era por el sacerdocio Levítico, (porque debajo de él recibió el pueblo la ley, ) ¿qué necesidad había aun de que se levantase otro sacerdote según el orden de Melquisedec, y que no se dijese según el orden de Aarón?
12 for the priesthood being changed, of necessity also, of the law a change doth come,
Luego traspasado el sacerdocio, necesario es que se haga también traspasamiento de la ley.
13 for he of whom these things are said in another tribe hath had part, of whom no one gave attendance at the altar,
Porque aquel de quien estas cosas se dicen, de otra tribu es, de la cual nadie asistió al altar.
14 for [it is] evident that out of Judah hath arisen our Lord, in regard to which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
Porque es evidente que nuestro Señor nació de Judá, de cuya tribu nada habló Moisés, tocante al sacerdocio.
15 And it is yet more abundantly most evident, if according to the similitude of Melchisedek there doth arise another priest,
Y aun mucho más evidente es; que, según la semejanza de Melquisedec, se levanta otro sacerdote:
16 who came not according to the law of a fleshly command, but according to the power of an endless life,
El cual no es hecho conforme a la ley del mandamiento carnal, sino según el poder de una vida indisoluble.
17 for He doth testify — 'Thou [art] a priest — to the age, according to the order of Melchisedek;' (aiōn g165)
Porque él testifica, diciendo: Tú eres sacerdote para siempre según el orden de Melquisedec. (aiōn g165)
18 for a disannulling indeed doth come of the command going before because of its weakness, and unprofitableness,
El mandamiento precedente cierto se abroga por su flaqueza e inutilidad.
19 (for nothing did the law perfect) and the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw nigh to God.
Porque nada perfeccionó la ley, sino la introducción de mejor esperanza, por la cual nos acercamos de Dios,
20 And inasmuch as [it is] not apart from oath, (for those indeed apart from oath are become priests,
Y tanto más en cuanto no sin juramento fue él hecho sacerdote;
21 and he with an oath through Him who is saying unto him, 'The Lord sware, and will not repent, Thou [art] a priest — to the age, according to the order of Melchisedek;') (aiōn g165)
(Porque los otros cierto sin juramento fueron hechos sacerdotes; mas éste, con juramento por aquel que le dijo: Juró el Señor, y no se arrepentirá: Tú eres sacerdote eternamente según el orden de Melquisedec: ) (aiōn g165)
22 by so much of a better covenant hath Jesus become surety,
Tanto de mejor concierto fue hecho prometedor Jesús.
23 and those indeed are many who have become priests, because by death they are hindered from remaining;
Y los otros cierto fueron muchos sacerdotes, porque la muerte les impedía que continuasen;
Mas éste, porque permanece eternamente, tiene el sacerdocio inmutable. (aiōn g165)
25 whence also he is able to save to the very end, those coming through him unto God — ever living to make intercession for them.
Por lo cual puede también salvar perpetuamente a los que por él se allegan a Dios, viviendo siempre para interceder por ellos;
26 For such a chief priest did become us — kind, harmless, undefiled, separate from the sinners, and become higher than the heavens,
Porque tal sumo sacerdote nos convenía, que fuese santo, inocente, libre de mancha, apartado de los pecadores, y hecho más sublime que los cielos.
27 who hath no necessity daily, as the chief priests, first for his own sins to offer up sacrifice, then for those of the people; for this he did once, having offered up himself;
Que no tuviese necesidad cada día, como los otros sumos sacerdotes, de ofrecer sacrificios, primero por sus propios pecados, y luego por los del pueblo; porque esto lo hizo una vez ofreciéndose a sí mismo.
28 for the law doth appoint men chief priests, having infirmity, but the word of the oath that [is] after the law [appointeth] the Son — to the age having been perfected. (aiōn g165)
Porque la ley constituye sumos sacerdotes a hombres que tienen flaqueza; mas la palabra del juramento, que fue después de la ley, constituye al Hijo, que es perfecto eternamente. (aiōn g165)
