2 Samuel 22
1 And David speaketh to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah hath delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,
E DAVIDE proferì al Signore le parole di questo cantico, al giorno che il Signore l'ebbe riscosso dalla mano di tutti i suoi nemici, e dalla mano di Saulle;
2 and he saith: 'Jehovah [is] my rock, And my bulwark, and a deliverer to me,
e disse: Il Signore [è] la mia rocca, e la mia fortezza, e il mio liberatore;
3 My God [is] my rock — I take refuge in Him; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, My high tower, and my refuge! My Saviour, from violence Thou savest me!
[Egli è] l'Iddio della mia rupe, io spererò in lui; [Egli è] il mio scudo, e il corno della mia salute; Il mio alto ricetto, il mio rifugio; Il mio Salvatore, che mi salva di violenza.
4 The Praised One, I call Jehovah: And from mine enemies I am saved.
Io invocai il Signore, al quale appartiene ogni lode, E fui salvato da' miei nemici.
5 When the breakers of death compassed me, The streams of the worthless terrify me,
Perciocchè onde di morte mi aveano intorniato, Torrenti di scellerati mi aveano spaventato.
Legami di sepolcro, mi aveano circondato, Lacci di morte mi aveano incontrato. (Sheol h7585)
7 In mine adversity I call Jehovah, And unto my God I call, And He heareth from His temple my voice, And my cry [is] in His ears,
Mentre io era distretto, io invocai il Signore, E gridai all'Iddio mio; Ed egli udì la mia voce dal suo Tempio, E il mio grido pervenne a' suoi orecchi.
8 And shake and tremble doth the earth, Foundations of the heavens are troubled, And are shaken, for He hath wrath!
Allora la terra fu smossa, e tremò; I fondamenti de' cieli furono crollati e scossi; Perciocchè egli era acceso nell'ira.
9 Gone up hath smoke by His nostrils. And fire from His mouth devoureth, Brands have been kindled by it.
Fumo gli saliva per le nari, E fuoco consumante per la bocca; Da lui procedevano brace accese.
10 And He inclineth heaven, and cometh down, And thick darkness [is] under His feet.
Ed egli abbassò i cieli, e discese, Avendo una caligine sotto a' suoi piedi.
11 And He rideth on a cherub, and doth fly, And is seen on the wings of the wind.
E cavalcava sopra Cherubini, e volava, Ed appariva sopra le ale del vento.
12 And He setteth darkness Round about Him — tabernacles, Darkness of waters — thick clouds of the skies.
Ed avea poste d'intorno a sè, [per] tabernacoli, tenebre, Viluppi d'acque, e nubi dell'aria,
13 From the brightness before Him Were brands of fire kindled!
Dallo splendore [che scoppiava] davanti a lui, Procedevano brace accese.
14 Thunder from the heavens doth Jehovah, And the Most High giveth forth His voice.
Il Signore tonò dal cielo, E l'Altissimo mandò fuori la sua voce;
15 And He sendeth forth arrows, And scattereth them; Lightning, and troubleth them;
Ed avventò saette, e disperse coloro; Folgore, e li mise in rotta.
16 And seen are the streams of the sea, Revealed are foundations of the world, By the rebuke of Jehovah, From the breath of the spirit of His anger.
E, per lo sgridare del Signore, E per lo soffiar dell'alito delle sue nari, I canali del mare furon veduti, I fondamenti del mondo furono scoperti.
17 He sendeth from above — He taketh me, He draweth me out of many waters.
Egli da alto distese [la mano], Mi prese, mi trasse fuori di grandi acque.
18 He delivereth me from my strong enemy, From those hating me, For they were stronger than I.
Egli mi riscosse dal mio potente nemico, Da quelli che mi odiavano; perciocchè erano più forti di me.
19 They are before me in a day of my calamity, And Jehovah is my support,
Essi mi erano venuti incontro al giorno della mia calamità; Ma il Signore fu il mio sostegno.
20 And He bringeth me out to a large place, He draweth me out for He delighted in me.
E mi trasse fuori in luogo largo; Egli mi liberò; perciocchè egli mi gradisce.
21 Jehovah recompenseth me, According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, He doth return to me.
Il Signore mi ha fatta la retribuzione secondo la mia giustizia; Egli mi ha renduto secondo la purità delle mie mani.
22 For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And have not done wickedly against my God.
Perciocchè io ho osservate le vie del Signore, E non mi sono empiamente rivolto dall'Iddio mio.
23 For all His judgments [are] before me, As to His statutes, I turn not from them.
Perciocchè [io ho tenute] davanti agli occhi tutte le sue leggi, E non mi son rivolto da' suoi statuti.
24 And I am perfect before Him, And I keep myself from mine iniquity.
E sono stato intiero inverso lui, E mi son guardato dalla mia iniquità.
25 And Jehovah returneth to me, According to my righteousness, According to my cleanness before His eyes.
E il Signore mi ha fatta la retribuzione secondo la mia giustizia, Secondo la purità che io ho guardata davanti agli occhi suoi.
26 With the kind Thou shewest Thyself kind, With the perfect man Thou shewest Thyself perfect,
Tu ti mostri pietoso inverso il pio, Intiero inverso l'uomo intiero.
27 With the pure Thou shewest Thyself pure, And with the perverse Thou shewest Thyself a wrestler.
Puro inverso il puro, E ritroso inverso il perverso;
28 And the poor people Thou dost save, And Thine eyes on the high causest to fall.
E salvi la gente afflitta, E bassi gli occhi in su gli altieri.
29 For Thou [art] my lamp, O Jehovah, And Jehovah doth lighten my darkness.
Perciocchè tu [sei] la mia lampana, o Signore; E il Signore allumina le mie tenebre.
30 For by Thee I run — a troop, By my God I leap a wall.
Perciocchè per te io rompo tutta una schiera; Per l'Iddio mio io salgo sopra il muro.
31 God! Perfect [is] His way, The saying of Jehovah is tried, A shield He [is] to all those trusting in Him.
La via di Dio [è] intiera; La parola del Signore [è] purgata col fuoco; Egli [è] scudo a tutti coloro che sperano in lui.
32 For who is God save Jehovah? And who a Rock save our God?
Perciocchè, chi [è] Dio, fuor che il Signore? E chi [è] Rocca, fuor che l'Iddio nostro?
33 God — my bulwark, [my] strength, And He maketh perfect my way;
Iddio [è] la mia forza; [e il mio] valore; Ed ha renduta spedita e appianata la mia via.
34 Making my feet like hinds, And on my high places causeth me to stand,
Egli rende i miei piedi simili a quelli delle cerve, E mi fa star ritto in su i miei alti luoghi.
35 Teaching my hands for battle, And brought down was a bow of brass by mine arms,
Egli ammaestra le mie mani alla battaglia, E con le mie braccia un arco di rame è spezzato.
36 And Thou givest to me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy lowliness maketh me great.
Tu mi hai ancora dato lo scudo della tua salvezza, E la tua benignità mi ha accresciuto.
37 Thou enlargest my step under me, And mine ankles have not slidden.
Tu hai allargati i miei passi sotto me, E le mie calcagna non son vacillate.
38 I pursue mine enemies and destroy them, And I turn not till they are consumed.
Io ho perseguiti i miei nemici, e li ho sterminati; E non me ne son tornato [indietro], finchè non li avessi distrutti.
39 And I consume them, and smite them, And they rise not, and fall under my feet.
Io li ho distrutti, e li ho trafitti, e non son potuti risorgere; E mi son caduti sotto a' piedi.
40 And Thou girdest me [with] strength for battle, Thou causest my withstanders to bow under me.
E tu mi hai cinto di prodezza per la guerra; Tu hai abbassati sotto me quelli che si levavano contro a me.
41 And mine enemies — Thou givest to me the neck, Those hating me — and I cut them off.
Ed hai fatte voltar le spalle a' miei nemici, Ed a coloro che mi odiavano, davanti a me; Ed io li ho sterminati.
42 They look, and there is no saviour; Unto Jehovah, and He hath not answered them.
Essi riguardavano [in qua ed in là], ma non [vi fu] chi [li] salvasse; [Riguardarono] al Signore, ma egli non rispose loro.
43 And I beat them as dust of the earth, As mire of the streets I beat them small — I spread them out!
Ed io li ho stritolati minuto come polvere della terra; Io li ho calpestati, schiacciati, come il fango delle strade.
44 And — Thou dost deliver me From the strivings of my people, Thou placest me for a head of nations; A people I have not known do serve me.
Tu mi hai ancora scampato dalle brighe del mio popolo; Tu mi hai guardato per [esser] capo di genti; Il popolo [che] io non conosceva, mi è divenuto servo.
45 Sons of a stranger feign obedience to me, At the hearing of the ear they hearken to me.
Gli stranieri si sono infinti inverso me; Al solo udire degli orecchi, si son renduti ubbidienti a me.
46 Sons of a stranger fade away, And gird themselves by their close places.
Gli stranieri son divenuti fiacchi, Ed hanno tremato di paura fin dentro i lor ricetti chiusi.
47 Jehovah liveth, and blessed [is] my Rock, And exalted is my God — The Rock of my salvation.
Viva il Signore, e benedetta [sia] la mia Rocca; E sia esaltato Iddio, [ch'è] la Rocca della mia salvezza.
48 God — who is giving vengeance to me, And bringing down peoples under me,
Iddio [è quel] che mi dà [modo di far] le mie vendette, E che abbassa i popoli sotto me.
49 And bringing me forth from mine enemies, Yea, above my withstanders Thou raisest me up. From a man of violence Thou deliverest me.
Ed [è] quel che mi trae fuori da' miei nemici; Tu mi levi ad alto d'infra coloro che mi assaltano, E mi riscuoti dagli uomini violenti.
50 Therefore I confess Thee, O Jehovah, among nations. And to Thy name I sing praise.
Perciò, o Signore, io ti celebrerò fra le nazioni, E salmeggerò al tuo Nome;
51 Magnifying the salvations of His king, And doing loving-kindness to His anointed, To David, and to his seed — unto the age!'
Il quale rende magnifiche le vittorie del suo re, Ed usa benignità inverso Davide, suo Unto, E inverso la sua progenie, in sempiterno.
