2 Kings 20

1 In those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, and saith unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou art dying, and dost not live.'

En aquellos días, Ezequías estaba enfermo y cerca de la muerte. Entonces el profeta Isaías, hijo de Amoz, se acercó a él y le dijo: El Señor dice: Ordena tu casa, porque tu muerte está cerca.

2 And he turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah, saying,

Luego, volviendo su rostro hacia la pared, hizo su oración al Señor, diciendo:

3 'I pray Thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which [is] good in Thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth — a great weeping.

Oh Señor, ten en cuenta cómo te he sido fiel con todo mi corazón, y he hecho lo que es bueno a tus ojos. Y Ezequías dio paso al amargo llanto.

4 And it cometh to pass — Isaiah hath not gone out to the middle court — that the word of Jehovah hath been unto him, saying,

Ahora que Isaías había salido del centro de la ciudad, vino a él la palabra del Señor, que decía:

5 'Turn back, and thou hast said unto Hezekiah, leader of My people: Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I give healing to thee, on the third day thou dost go up to the house of Jehovah;

Vuelve y dile a Ezequías, él capitán de mi pueblo: El Señor, el Dios supremo de David, tu padre, dice: Tu oración ha llegado a mis oídos, y he visto tu llanto; mira, yo te sanaré, al tercer día subirás a la casa del Señor.

6 and I have added to thy days fifteen years, and out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city for Mine own sake, and for the sake of David My servant.'

Te daré quince años más de vida; y te protegeré a ti y a este pueblo de las manos del rey de Asiria; Mantendré este pueblo a salvo, por mi honor y por el honor de mi siervo David.

7 And Isaiah saith, 'Take ye a cake of figs;' and they take and lay [it] on the boil, and he reviveth.

Entonces Isaías dijo: Toma una masa de higos. Así que la tomaron y la pusieron sobre la llaga, y él mejoró.

8 And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, 'What [is] the sign that Jehovah doth give healing to me, that I have gone up on the third day to the house of Jehovah?'

Entonces Ezequías dijo a Isaías: ¿Cuál será la señal de que el Señor me sanará y de que subiré a la casa del Señor al tercer día?

9 And Isaiah saith, 'This [is] to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth the thing that He hath spoken — The shadow hath gone on ten degrees, or it doth turn back ten degrees?'

Entonces Isaías dijo: Esta es la señal que el Señor te dará, que hará lo que ha dicho; ¿La sombra avanzará diez grados o retrocederá diez grados?

10 And Hezekiah saith, 'It hath been light for the shadow to incline ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow turn backward ten degrees.'

Y Ezequías respondió: Es una cosa fácil para la sombra avanzar; pero no que retroceda diez grados.

11 And Isaiah the prophet calleth unto Jehovah, and He bringeth back the shadow by the degrees that it had gone down in the degrees of Ahaz — backward ten degrees.

Entonces el profeta Isaías hizo oración al Señor, e hizo que la sombra retrocediera diez grados desde su posición en los escalones de Acaz.

12 At that time hath Berodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick;

En ese momento, Merodac-baladán, hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió cartas con una ofrenda a Ezequías, porque tenía noticias de que Ezequías había estado enfermo.

13 and Hezekiah hearkeneth unto them, and sheweth them all the house of his treasury, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasuries; there hath not been a thing that Hezekiah hath not shewed them, in his house, and in all his dominion.

Ezequías se alegró de que vinieran y les permitiera ver todo su cúmulo de riquezas, la plata y el oro y las especias y el aceite de gran precio, y su depósito de armas, y todo lo que había en sus tesoros; no había nada en toda su casa o su reino que Ezequías no les mostrara.

14 And Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, 'What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, 'From a land afar off they have come — from Babylon.'

Entonces el profeta Isaías vino al rey Ezequías y le dijo: ¿Qué dijeron estos hombres y de dónde vinieron? Y Ezequías dijo: Vinieron de un país lejano, incluso de Babilonia.

15 And he saith, 'What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, 'All that [is] in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'

Y él dijo: ¿Qué han visto en tu casa? Y Ezequías respondió: Ellos vieron todo en mi casa: no hay nada entre mis tiendas que no les mostrara.

16 And Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, 'Hear a word of Jehovah:

Entonces Isaías dijo a Ezequías: Escucha la palabra del Señor.

17 Lo, days are coming, and borne hath been all that [is] in thy house, and that thy father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;

Ciertamente, los días en que todo lo que hay en tu casa y todo lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta el día de hoy, se lo llevarán a Babilonia, nada quedará, dice el Señor.

18 and of thy sons who go out from thee, whom thou begettest, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'

Y los hijos de tus hijos, descendientes de tu cuerpo, se los llevarán para ser siervos y serán eunucos en la casa del rey de Babilonia.

19 And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, 'Good [is] the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, 'Is it not — if peace and truth are in my days?'

Entonces Ezequías dijo a Isaías: La palabra del Señor que has dicho es buena. Y dijo, ¿si en mi tiempo hay paz y justicia?

20 And the rest of the matters of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and bringeth in the waters to the city, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Los demás hechos de Ezequías y su poder, y cómo hizo él estanque y el arroyo para llevar el agua al pueblo, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

21 And Hezekiah lieth with his fathers, and reign doth Manasseh his son in his stead.

Ezequías fue a descansar con sus padres; y su hijo Manasés se hizo rey en su lugar.
